Ironically Thriller could finally reach number one . There's gonna be many more MJ singles in the charts in the next few weeks. If the concerts had gone ahead there may have been a few anyway but now its a certainty.

I felt really sad hearing that news last week.Kelly Groucutt was even playing in Berlin on Tuesday night with The Orchestra (former members of ELO).He had a great voice & was a great man.I saw him twice last year at a small club near Solihull where he jammed with a local band .Afterwards he chatted away to the audience as if they were all his long lost friends. I video'd some of his performances and put them on You Tube .While I was filming other acts afterwards he sat down next to my Dad & was chatting away to him .Here's Kelly singing Runaway.

  8. My local Woolies at Chelmsley Wood,North Solihull closed today. At noon they announced everything had 80% discount from marked price.I bought loads of greatest hits CDs for less than £2 each. Dave Edmunds,Squeeze,Hall & Oates,Barry White,Stylistics,Buddy Holly,Neil Diamond,Lionel Richie & Commodores . I must admit that normally I wouldn't have bought these but there are some good tracks on these albums . Also I bought for less than £2 each Hard Candy (Madonna) & Out of control (GA). 12"/80s double album was £3 so I bought that as well. Lost series 1 on 5 DVDs was only £11 for the set so I bought that. All the above for £35 .Sad day today for the shopping centre as that was the main shop there .
  9. I remeber that Renta Santa was one of those records like The Look's "I am the beat" on vinyl which never ends due to the groove looping . The last word that keeps repeating is player , "give me back my record player,player,player,player.....
  10. What about The Zimmers with My Generation ?
  11. The Goodies - Father Christmas Do No Touch Me It was quite funny at the time (1974) but risque now .

I went to a large WH Smith today at The Fort Shopping Centre in Bham to but some CD albums. I was gobsmacked when I found out they don't sell them anymore . In HMV next door they only had about 10 CD Singles which you couldn't have a look at unless you joined the queue at the pay desk.
  13. No sign of The Goodies then with Make A Daft Noise for Christmas
  14. I don't think so .His last hit was in 1974.

I noticed you like Runaway Here is a performance of this song recently sung at a local club by Kelly Groucutt from ELO with a band called Vivo http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ziEGvlk7xb0
  16. Im not sure this counts but Queen's We are The Champions had We Will Rock You as its B side. I can't remeber if We Will Rock You was ever listed as the A side afterwards.
  17. Rich, this is a fantastic read as usual .You are very committed to be able to do this week after week & still make it interesting.Ignore the negative comments elsewhere , we at Buzzjack love your commentaries as confirmed by the other posts.
  18. I actually think that Do Ya is a good song and Stay With Me is a decent cover of The Faces hit. The Children In Need tag should have been a good promotion for it. They certainly attract 1000s of fans everytime they do CD signings. Maybe it is just a case of bad timing with this one or lack of places to buy the physical singles.

Don't forget New Kids on The Block who were around prior to Take That
  20. I'm a DJ and I find the disco songs that usually work are: Dancing Queen Im in the mood for dancing Play That Funky Music You to me are everything You sexy thing Everybody dance Upside Down Good times Heart of Glass I will survive Heaven must be missing an angel Thats the way I like it Get down tonight Dont stop till you get enough December 63
  21. There's a chance that Perry Como's "Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas" from 1951 could be a hit this year. If it does then it would break the record for the time taken between recording & reaching the charts in the UK.
