Well i guess the reason newer (UK) acts don't get slots is two-fold. Firstly, they're not gonna be ratings winners - how many people tune in to X Factor to see Rihanna and Xtina last night who might not usually bother? A new act isn't going to pull in the numbers. And also - because it is the biggest show on UK TV (whether people like it or not, only an England World Cup Final would rival its ratings now), it's right that guest stars should really prove themselves before going on. Obviously there's going to be bias towards its own, but just look at The Wanted - their VT was slightly embarrassing - and they are a new UK act
Yep, you are right! I know that they want more audience and those big names will bring bigger ratings..but still wouldn't you love if Marina and the Diamonds, The Drums (although not UK but love them), Ellie Goulding, Plan B (oops not a new act) etc. sang instead of (for example) Robbie Williams etc.? Some of the new acts can perform way better than others which are already big! (The Wanted was not a good example though :teresa: )

I do get you, but despite What's My Name already being a hit, it would have not been #1 on Itunes without the X Factor performance. The same as Meet Me Halfway probably wouldn't have been #1 last year without X Factor - it would have been a big hit.
X Factor has made songs that may not have been hits, be hits - and songs already hits potential #1s - if there wasn't an X Factor single coming out this week - then What's My Name would be certain for a #1 this week
Absolutely agree, although i can't name many songs that weren't going to be hits but became hits after X-Factor (i suppose Whitney would never had that top 5 hit with MDB, neither Michael Buble with Hollywood). But wouldn't be great if new acts (especially UK acts) could get a slot? There are so many good acts that never get the chance to promote their songs in huge shows! Of course, those huge names bring more viewers, but they could somehow give a slot to other acts.
It would be great if they introduce new artists to the audience!
Despite i don't like Rihanna any more, the performance with Matt was really good! That was the Rihanna i used to like!

01 Ellie Goulding - Starry Eyed
02 Flo Rida ft. David Guetta - Club Can't Handle Me
03 Eliza Doolittle - Pack Up
04 Bruno Mars - Just The Way You Are
05 Alexis Jordan - Happiness
06 Alexandra Burke - All Night Long
07 Mike Posner - Cooler Than Me
08 Willow Smith - Whip My Hair
09 Justin Bieber ft. Ludacris - Baby
10 Black Eyed Peas - The Time (Dirty Bit)
Ellie is literally miles ahead of everything else for me, #3 downwards are all just different levels of ear rape.
 absolutely! My ears have been abused consistently by those trash songs! And they are everywhere :puke2:

Bad Romance isn't that good. I mean, it's okay, but nothing special tbh. Just a bit generic imo. Dance in the Dark is a little bit less generic, but it was done better by Madonna decades ago (I wasn't alive back then, but I've heard Madonna's old music, and it's very similar to Dance in the Dark, but far better).
Dance in the Dark and Bad Romance are better than I Kissed a Girl, so I'll give Gaga that.
Nothing special? Well it's your opinion so... :)
At least we agree that DIND and BR are better than IKAG
People have different music tastes. Not everyone worships GaGa. :)Yep i know! I can find hundreds of songs that i prefer to Gaga's. So my reply is obviously my opinion as a disagreement to his opinion!

Katy Perry deserves more #1s than Lady Gaga, in my opinion. Gaga has never come out with a song as good as Hot N Cold or Firework, imo.
Gaga has come out with way better songs as Bad Romance and Dance In The Dark (although i like Firework, so well done Katy)
Amazing for Florence and Coldplay! Both Top 30
