Spotify Update has Brenda back ahead of Noah. Streams for the top Christmas songs are once again mostly down compared to last week. (With the exception of the Pogues and Ariana due to the new version) However, streams for lower ranked Christmas songs such as Wizzard and Step Into Christmas are actually up compared to last week.

Will it be an updated YTD chart or will it be a week out of date like the Buzzjack ones are? Guess we’ll find out based on how high/how many Christmas songs there are

Noah has a genuine chance of going #1 this week then. That's also a really strong update for the Pogues. Most Christmas songs are down massively compared to last week, but they're actually up about 20k. Genuinely think they'd be close to Mariah and Wham! with better playlisting

Brenda Lee also has the “Re-recorded Version” which actually appeared on the weekly chart last week so it might’ve been ahead of Mariah on other occasions but we weren’t able to tell

I might set one up in January and see how many people participate, if you wouldn't mind me completely stealing your idea.

Looking at Houdini’s Spotify position today I think I’ve got that one badly wrong. The rest however I’m pretty happy with (for now) [Also if someone was willing to put the effort in and it had the demand, I think it would be fun to make these kinds of predictions a more regular thing]

Interesting to see the Pogues actually doing better on Spotify this week than last. Maybe there is hope

Worth noting that streams are significantly down compared to last weekend, so maybe we’ll see some rebounds for non-Christmas hits before the inevitable carnage of the next two weeks

Have to consider that Wham! will have physicals on Christmas week too. I think the Pogues could maybe do 25k downloads with a good campaign. Not sure if it’ll be enough tho

This week's weekly Spotify chart sees Dave's Location and The Weeknd's Blinding Lights drop out of the weekly top 200 for the first time since release after 247 and 209 consecutive weeks respectively. Also the 'Rerecorded version' of Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree shows up at #179 for the first time since 2015 (presumably this is combined for OCC purposes?)

Top 5 on Apple has shifted around again 1. Pogues 2. Jack Harlow 3. Shaky 4. Mariah 5. Wham! Interesting that Jack Harlow has stalled at #2 - leaves me optimistic (delusional) that the Pogues can hold on to #3 officially on Friday

Imagine Tom Petty will be out tomorrow tbh, or on Friday’s update at the latest. Hopefully Ocean Alley will be able to get a reset in the new year
