The Dr Luke rumours have been circling for months and I'm gonna be so disappointed if they're true. I personally skip any Kim Petras song or any of his productions for Doja and if this turns out to have his involvement I won't be giving it the benefit of a stream either. I wanted to be so here for a Katy comeback but the snippet does sound weak - it's giving that clichéd kind of "she's so cool, she's so smart, sometimes she's a bit sad but she loves dancing" songwriting that's found on Can't Tame Her (Zara) and Million Dollar Baby (Ava) among others. Hoping to be proven wrong about all of this but it'll be a real shame if she can't recapture the magic of her earlier singles with all the public goodwill atm :(

I don't think I've heard the majority of these one hit wonders in the first place, the last year or so I think I've really lost track of what's charting :lol: Tommy Richman feels like he's got potential, not to be massive but get a few other middling hits. Cassö paired with the right artist has a chance, I think it's easier for DJs to break the one hit wonder curse than vocalists since they can quite easily latch on to a bigger name. Djo will probably do alright even without another charting hit but could probably manage one, and Flo Milli has been a known name in rap for a while so at the very least can probably get lucky as a featured artist. Not to do a "Buzzjack explains Sabrina Carpenter" but I do think Shaboozey got lucky releasing something straight after his COWBOY CARTER feature, but if the country trend keeps going I guess I could see him getting a follow up. Happy to be proven wrong but no one here feels like a superstar in waiting, no shade intended.

So good! Probably the most consistent album of the year for me so far - nothing really feels like I'll end up leaving it behind. The singles are the best tbh but I love Talk talk, Girl so confusing and Mean girls too! Overall feels a lot more introspective than we usually get from Charli (in line with a couple of songs from self-titled and HIFN).

This should've come out like a year ago when it was first going viral but I'm glad we've finally got it! It sounds so Lorde (like imagine this between Pure Heroine and Melodrama) but I'm so here for it and rly need to listen to more of Gracie's music.

Really liking this! Orville and Kylie are not a pair I would've put together as their voices are so different but it really works. Shame about Diplo's involvement as he's hardly the most pleasant of people, but it's defo my fav Kylie feature in a while.

This was really great actually - I'm glad they didn't go for the obvious "those kids and their phones :angry:" route that TV shows tend to do, and instead went for criticising echo-chambers which I think is a less examined trope. Having such an unlikeable main character was a brave choice but obviously by the end it pays off. Apparently the scene at the end was the first scene Ncuti filmed as the Doctor and what a scene to start with - the darker tone in the last few episodes is really working for me. Ngl though it's a shame we've had 2 Doctor-lite episodes in such a short series, it's kinda hard to believe we used to get 13 episodes and now it's just 8. Hopefully future seasons get a bit longer again.

She's described this song as inspired by Kylie Minogue (maybe there's a different Kylie Minogue in Argentina bc I don't really see the resemblance x) and it's a dance-pop bop. It's in a similar vein to last year's 'mariposas' (albeit with slightly racier lyrics) which scored Pestolia a 13th place smasha, and we're hoping for another pop bloc success story this month!

Definitely my favourite episode in a long time! Probably because of the Turn Left vibes but this is exactly what I expected a post-Years and Years and It's A Sin RTD era to look like. Obviously there's a lot of unanswered questions but I think that heightens the fear of the whole thing - I mean, a thing that can scare your friends, family, and even UNIT into staying away from you? Also incredible timing to get this episode out right after a real-life general election is called. Towards the end of the episode I was starting to expect a . Agreed it's a shame Ruby's big independence moment essentially gets erased but it seems like she 'remembers' it to an extent from the way she mistook how many times she's been to Wales.
