  1. The music video is out there (not on Vevo yet). I like the spinning sessions but my favorite part are the shower room shots near the end. Too bad Ariana isn't even in those scenes.
  2. 'Let Me' and 'Music of the Sun'. I feel this is the right moment to say that I think this Rihanna album is very underrated, meanwhile at least 3 of her other albums are pretty overrated. The only song that's not at least a bit enjoyable is 'Now I Know'.
  3. I didn't expect 'Umbrella' to win over 'We Found Love' but happy that it did!
  4. Reading my own words back and watching the performances again I thought I was a bit too harsh! I just expected more slayage I guess. The main plus of the night was that the performances showed how versatile she really is musically. She started off with her dance tracks, then went to dancehall, urban and ended on a pop note. She needs to stop snubbing the hits from her first two/three albums though! edit: Wanted to add that Drake was the perfect person to present the award to Rih and his speech was super cute and adorable.
  5. I thought Beyoncé overshadowed Rih unfortunately.. well at least until Rih's last performance. Tbh I didn't really like any of the performances because I just dislike medleys. Just sing a damn song! Were those ''na nas'' of 'What's My Name' really worth putting the song in for . And 'Work' and 'Needed Me' don't seem to work in a live setting. But at least she vocally aced the last performance.
  6. Both songs are influenced by reggae music. I don't see any more similarities than that. 'Side to Side' was my favorite performance at the VMA's. Ariana has a great live voice that sounds even better live than it does on record. Nicki Minaj was awful on the other hand.
  7. Why is it so short. It basically has two verses and two choruses and that's it. Actually pretty excited for the album. All the songs so far are pretty solid and he's definitely more dance this time around but still staying pretty true to his own sound.

What about the sandcastles!!! I wanna poke my eyes out when I see those.
  9. YESSSS Cremes tell 'em the truth
  10. 'Love on the Brain' is in the Dutch tipparade (which functions as a bubbling under chart) and was there last week as well, but I didn't notice. I hope it'll enter the official top 40 sometime in the next few weeks! Although I don't want to get my hopes up as 'Kiss It Better' stalled there as well and I haven't heard it on radio yet, it's not in the iTunes top 100 or in the Spotify chart
  11. My favorite song on the album and I think it's a good choice. I think it'll perform similar to 'Dangerous Woman' and 'Into You' but that's OK. 'Greedy' or 'Everyday' for 4th! (a lot of people seem to want 'Everyday').
  12. omg yes WMN is her most overrated single. I still like it.. but I probably wouldn't rank it in the top half of her singles. Even from Loud singles it's my least favorite. 'Disturbia' and 'Don't Stop the Music' both don't deserve to be this high though... I hope both of them are not top 3.
  13. I agree with most of the songs mentioned... We Found Love Umbrella Diamonds Rude Boy Stay and Work maybe... I don't think anything from 'Loud' will go down as a pop classic, as successful as that album was. Although I even heard 'Te Amo' on the radio yesterday so who knows
  14. Definitely 'Breathe on Me'. It is lush. I like 'Amnesia' but it doesn't really stand out from other pop songs and it wouldn't have been a good single imo.
  15. I don't think Rihanna has missed singles opportunities... although I would've liked 'Roc Me Out' or 'Drunk in Love' to be singles, but that's about it really.

I agree that 'You da One' was an odd choice after the monster single WFL. I also agree with 'We Ride'. 'American Oxygen' as a single was also quite wtf and 'FourFiveSeconds' as any sort of lead too I guess... Although I still hear it pretty often on Dutch Radio and I think it will stand the test of time. At the time SUAD/HTILY were also odd choices for singles when they had 'Don't Stop the Music', but I think they were going for a really long campaign so they tried not to run out of smashes immediately (which eventually worked out). Perhaps that's what they also tried during the TTT era?
  18. 'Kiss It Better' I guess. Not by fans of course but it's by far her most undeserved flop.
  19. What I WANT 10. Disturbia 09. Russian Roulette 08. Don't Stop the Music 07. What's My Name? 06. SOS 05. Only Girl (In the World) 04. We Found Love - it's crazy how much this has grown on me, I really didn't care for it at the time of release. 03. Where Have You Been 02. Umbrella 01. Diamonds I hope WHYB can surprise... at a Popjustice Rihanna Discography rate it came in a shocking SECOND place.
  20. I don't really know how I feel about it these days but I used to really like it.
  21. To be honest I think everything released from this album will flop now so I had hoped she would've come back with the first single from her new album already instead of another Anti single. But LOTB is amazing, although after hearing the live version the album version doesn't really satisfy me anymore. I hope we get a good video for it. (And I also hope she'll still release 'Sex with Me' as a single in the US).
  22. TE AMO IS BETTER THAN THIS

are they releasing a duet album? this is the first I've heard of it. if it's full of 'Bonnie and Clyde' classics then carry me to my grave ⚰.
