    I'm actually pissed we lost to Austria of all countries! If a woman without a beard had sung that song it wouldn't have got much higher than midtable. + The political message of the song was the same Israel had in 1998 which was 16 years ago!!. It's actually saddening that so little has changed over the years.

     

    But heyho, second is a great result for us!

     

    Shocked at Greece and Azerbaijan under performing!

    Nothing but Europe hates us. Doesn't tonight prove it?

     

    Of course not. The song was just nothing special. I didn't get the hype for the UK at all.

     

    The Netherlands didn't qualify for 9 years in a row and now we're close to the top of the scoreboard. You just have to send the right song.

    I do think people are getting a bit carried away, and I don't blame them considering the results we've had in the last decade. I'd love to be wrong though!

     

    I agree with that but that's probably 'cause I don't like the song much myself. Its hard to see the potential in songs you don't like. Sweden is another example for me but I put it down at #3 'cause everyone seems to love it.

    I loved the performance so much I have it on repeat. Vocals were flawless (except for a few lines the beginning but heyho) And the staging was beautiful as well.

     

    What I secretly might love the most about this is that every Dutch celeb will have to eat their words now about how this ''stands no chance'' and ''is not for Eurovision''. Especially the bitter ones who failed to qualify themselves.

    I dunno. It seems to have it's core fanbase but those that aren't fussed on it, really aren't fussed on it/won't even vote for it "for the lolz" (if that makes sense).

     

    But that's exactly what you need to send. Aside from obvious smashes like 'Fairytale' and 'Euphoria', it's much better to send something that one half really loves and the other half really loathes than something that everyone finds merely ''OK''. Best example is probably ''Suus''. (most) People are only gonna vote for what they like best.

    SO pleased The Netherlands made it through. For the first time ever I can say that we have the best song of the whole contest, and this is definitely our best entry since I've been watching :wub:

     

    Also very happy for Valentina :lol:. Although 'Crisalide' was at least three times as good.

     

    The quality this year is horrible by the way. I barely like any of the songs. Of the first semi final I only liked The Netherlands and Moldova.

    I kind of wish the audio video was the official video. I love the repeating images. The story tells itself.

     

    I bought the first album, and then was forced into either buying the extended version or forking out a fortune for individual downloads. So I did neither, this is purely greedy UK record company marketing and they need shooting down.

     

    Also not buying the new album for the same reason! If I really like the album I will buy it when the album era is (almost) over. I'm really happy I didn't buy 'Born to Die' until she released the 'Paradise Edition'.
