So there's yet another version of Aod (the official "remix") out with Kanye West and another rapper who goes by Gilbere Forte. Stromae's verses have been replaced with Kanye and Gilbere and only the chorus remains intact.

That's right, Alors on danse was popular in Québec. But since Canada is so huge that's the way it is with many songs. For example, Stereo Love was only a hit in central Canada (Ontario, Québec). Of course this isn't reflected in the position in the national chart. We No Speak Americano is also only getting played in Ontario & Québec.

Canadian (fr) radio are also now starting play Te Quiero in addition to Aod. Got a cumulative 30 radio spins this past week, compared with Aod's 89 spins.

This isn't much of a "World Chart" if it only includes Europe, the UK, Ireland, and South Africa, now is it? :thinking:

11. One Life Stand - Longo & Wainwright Ft Craig Smart This is a good song albeit eerily reminiscent of OR's Apologize and Coldplay's Clocks. Shaping up to be a hit in Canada - hear it on the radio quite often.

Hopefully Alors on danse is next :drama:

"The Top 40 Singles Chart is compiled based on a 75:25 split between physical / digital singles sales figures and radio play information gathered by radio data collection agency Radioscope." This is almost identical to the format of the Canadian Hot 100. I think it's much better than the way that the Billboard Hot 100 is compiled. Radio play isn't as important and songs are less likely to be "blocked" by songs that are popular on radio but not as much on digital (i.e. Rude Boy in the USA). For countries like Canada and New Zealand, which are similar markets, the formula helps native acts reach higher peaks on the chart and alleviates American domination. In any event, I've never seen a digital chart on RIANZ.
