DariusOfficial Darius Campbell I'm looking forward to singing on the Matt Monro Tribute on BBC Radio Two this Friday evening 8th Oct, some great songs. from darius twitter I have manage to find out this about it : Join Radio 2 live from London's Mermaid Theatre for Portrait of My Love: A Matt Monro Tribute. Matt Monro, the singer's singer, would have been 80 this year. It's also the 50th anniversary of the release of Portrait of My Love. Darius Campbell, Andrew Halliday, Graham Bickley, Stephen Triffit and Matt Monro Jnr with Matt Monro's original MD Colin Keyes remind us of the genius of Matt with songs everybody loves - Born Free, Walk Away, Michelle and Softly As I Leave You to name just a few. Richard Balcombe conducts the BBC Concert Orchestra and Paul Gambaccini hosts the show. Radio 2

  15. Darius Campbell to headline Crewe Carnival entertainment Jun 30 2010 by Will Harris, Crewe Chronicle POPSTAR to Operastar winner Darius Campbell has been announced as star performer at this year’s Crewe Carnival. The platinum-selling singer and actor, who shot to fame after reaching the finals of Pop Idol in 2001 and toured with Shakira, will perform a number of his hits at the event on Saturday, August 28, at the King George V Playing Fields. In February, Darius won much public affection with his powerful and emotive performances in ITV show Popstar to Operastar, in which the 29-year-old wowed the audience and judges with his renditions of Nessun Dorma and The Impossible Dream. The carnival, organised by Cheshire East Council’s outdoor events team and Friends of Queens Park, will be a free, ticketed event. Darius will perform as part of a full day’s entertainment with performances from local groups and other acts to be announced. Tickets will be available from Crewe Lyceum Theatre from Monday, August 2. Cheshire East portfolio holder for health and wellbeing, Cllr Andrew Knowles, said: “This is a fantastic coup for all those who are organising this year’s carnival. “Darius is a popular and versatile performer with lots to offer. His success in Popstar to Operastar is testament to his all-round appeal. “This year’s carnival is something I am very much looking forward to – it is a highlight of Crewe’s social calendar, with a long history in the town.” Cheshire East’s outdoor events manager, Andrew Latham, added: “There’s a lot to look forward to at this year’s Crewe Carnival and the day will be filled with lots of local talent too. It’s not too late for local community groups and businesses to get involved, just phone me on 01270 537 846.”

http://www.uktheatre.net/magazine/read/dar...omime-_559.html Even with over 100 years of Christmas experiences under its belt Snow White has never been performed at the King’s Theatre so this year’s pantomime will be like no other King’s pantomime you have ever have seen before – in fact, you will never have seen it before! With a brand new script by Eric Potts, stunning new costumes, brand new sets and a stellar cast, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs has all the elements to make this the most wonderful and magical pantomime in Scotland. This year, the production is once again sponsored by Robinsons. The nation’s favourite family soft drink is supporting a national celebration of pantomime up and down the country and is delighted to be part of maintaining the traditional family experience at the King’s Theatre.
