"Jurassic World" made its official premiere in Paris over four months ago and literally swept the funds worldwide! It is undoubtedly one of the most hype films of the year and I couldn’t wait to watch it when the new movie was announced. Further to say that "Jurassic Park" was the second film that I saw in the cinema twelve years ago (after 1492: Conquest of Paradise) and remains even today in the Top 10 of my favourite movies ever! So, a comparison with the original film is inevitable. To be honest I cannot say that I was thrilled about the official trailer for Jurassic World! Let alone, I deliberately avoided seeing it for a long time so as not to form an initial opinion on the content. Besides, I follow this policy over the years and I think it is better that viewers can not know many things from the beginning. Although it should sometimes be done for the good of our money since awful movies have been released, such as Stray Dogs, Goodbye to Language, etc. However, there was no way to watch it on DVD. Although it didn’t seem to have the same freshness of the first film, but this didn’t mean that it would not have a decent result too. It moved slowly at the beginning, from a point on the action and suspense played the dominant role. It had impressive directing, elaborate montage, amazing photography, great cinematography and breathtaking scenery! This time we did not find Steven Spielberg on the directional chair, who certainly participated in the production of the film, but the newcomer director Colin Trevorrow. Having only one completed film to his credit (Safety Not Guaranteed), absolutely convinced Spielberg that he was the most appropriate to continue his excellent script idea. The protagonist of the film is Chris Pratt, whose popularity has risen a lot after "Guardians of the Galaxy" and his co-protagonist was the sexy redhead Bryce Dallas Howard whose popularity had fallen considerably in recent years. But nevertheless they were both quite good without touching the chemistry of Sam Neill and Laura Dern, who were the central characters in the original film. The rest of the cast consists of known and lesser known actors and actresses while dinosaurs are the ones that literally stole the show. However, I cannot say that the overall effect of the new film is too far from the other blockbusters that I saw for the first half of the year. And this is because of the scenario and the two central characters which were inspired by the four writers. One of them was Colin Trevorrow. After Chris Pratt referred to more Indiana Jones than to a dinosaur trainer while Bryce Dallas Howard converted from a stressed out career woman into an action figure. Jurassic World is a very impressive film that will fascinate young and old people! It is the most commercial film in the Box Office in 2015, so far, having made the best opening in North America! Similar success has been outside the US borders since it is placed in the 3rd position of the world's highest grossing films! I didn’t get crazy with its result but it is arguably one of the best productions of this year which should not be missed under any circumstances on the big screen!
  4. 24 Kate Bush - This Woman's Work Seann Miley Moore gave an incredible performance! 95 Céline Dion- Because You Loved Me One of her greatest songs!!! What happened and it came back to the charts?
  5. "Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)" has nice rhythm. "As Long As You Love Me" is very catchy. Justin Bieber who? If YouTube existed in 90s, Backstreet Boys would have huge success too. On the other hand, Justin Bieber would have similar success with Aaron Carter..
  6. Little Bad Girl is dreadful
  7. These are not bad singles. They are evil.. Boy (I Need You) [feat. Cam'ron] Shake It Off Don't Forget About Us Bye Bye I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time (feat. T.I.)
  8. "La Isla Minima" is a Spanish police thriller with socio-political implications, which was released in my country last June. It had great success in the Spanish Box Office (6.300.000 euros) and was nominated for 17 Goya Awards from the Spanish Film Academy, from which it won 10! I didn’t know many things about the film's content but I didn’t want to miss it on the big screen because I'm a big fan of police thriller and I have heard good things about it. Its projection in the open-air cinemas during the summer, tied perfectly with the exterior shots of the movie. "La Isla Minima" is set in the early 80s, when Spain was in a political transition period from the Franco dictatorship to democracy. In a town in southern Spain, two police officers are trying to obtain information about the disappearance of two missing girls. However, they have ideological differences, but the mystery that exists behind this issue, it will bring them closer during their research. However, both will realize very soon that this is not a simple case of disappearance. Anyone reading the synopsis of the film, may realize that this is not a "virgin birth". We occasionally see similar stories on the big screen and the fact that only women are victims, this scenario does not cause so great impression. Still though, the pretty good directing, the heavy photography (the aerial shots were exciting), the elaborate editing and the atmospheric music, contributed enough so that the film stand out from other European productions we have seen in recent years. The Spanish Alberto Rodríguez was not limited to the directorial piece of film but also he wrote the script along with Rafael Cobos. His work received very positive reviews from the critics, so it was no coincidence that he was awarded the Goya Awards for "Best Director" and "Best Original Screenplay". However, for the latter I am cautious, because as I mentioned above, we have seen many movies with similar theme. In addition, the interpretations of the lead duo were quite good, although the characters were not so special. How many times have we seen corrupt or unethical police officers, but they will always come in stark contrast with the impartial and conscientious fellow? And even in this, the story of "La Isla Minima" had no originality. Let alone, the development was excruciatingly slow and it had to spend a whole hour to acquire great tension and suspense. Maybe Alberto Rodríguez wanted deliberately to make a grande finale, from which, however not missing the familiar plot gaps such as the real motivations of serial killer etc. "La Isla Minima" is a very remarkable production which completely won the critics and the audience in Spain. Despite this, I consider that the technical part prevails enough against its substance. Definitely not a bad movie but I think it was quite overestimated by the Committee of Goya film awards. The fact that it overshadowed the excellent "Wild Tales" in all categories that were suggested along, just as injustice can be described. Although it shouldn’t give me a bad impression as the "Wild Tales" is not a "thoroughbred" Spanish film in contrast with "La Isla Minima". However, its acceptance was quite satisfactory from the first weekend of viewing by the Greek audience too! 8Fpk3Lnc638
  9. "Shape of my Heart" should be in the Top 10. One of their best performances. "Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely" has meaningful lyrics and dramatic music. How could it be so low?? "All I have to give" is a little bit forgettable. "Drowning" is quite good and "Incomplete" is overrated here.
  10. Mariah Carey has many great songs! However, these singles are awful: Crybaby (feat. Snoop Dogg) Boy (I Need You) [feat. Cam'ron] U Make Me Wanna (Jadakiss feat. Mariah Carey) Shake It Off Say Somethin' (feat. Snoop Dogg)
  11. I like this song but I didn't expect that it would be the most favourable here..The performance of Celine Dion in "The Power of Love" is priceless. I don't think that the current female singers could perform this song like her because they use only autotune..."Truly Madly Deeply" should be in the Top 10. "Kiss the Rain" is by far the biggest song in this list!
  12. This winner had a lot of exposure from MTV. They used to play it every hour. It's one of their best songs.
  13. "You Learn" totally deserved to win. However, I don't think the same about "Sick and Tired". It's a little bit ridiculous.
  14. "Little Bad Girl" is quite bad and generic too.

  20. Unfair winner. This is a classic 80's song! This list had great songs from this decade but.. Anyway..
  21. I really like Florence and the Machine but "Sweet Nothing" is not one of her best singles. Calvin has better songs than it too!
  22. "The One" should have had a better videoclip. "I'll Never Break Your Heart" is very dull. "We've Got It Goin' On" is a classic pop hit. "In A World Like This" has very nice rhythm. One of their best!
  23. "La famille Belier" is a French comedy-drama film that was released in my country at the beginning of summer. It was the second commercial movie after "Qu'est-ce qu'on a fait au Bon Dieu?" in France last year. Having cut over 7,500,000 tickets and it received very positive reviews. I hadn’t previously seen the official trailer in a theater nor had I read the synopsis. However, I knew about its big French Box Office success and the fact that it was nominated in six categories by the French national film award! The protagonist of the film is the 16 year old teenage girl Paula, who lives with her parents and her younger brother in a provincial French town. Along with school duties, she helps her parents in rural chores. Her life is not so common, since she is the only one in the family who can speak and listen and this has the effect of making her the sign language interpreter in the various cases involving her parents. However, things will become more complicated for Paula, when her father will make the decision to go for the candidacy for mayor while her mother will stand at his side. The life of the protagonist will change radically when the music teacher will choose her in the school choir and then he will propose her to take part in a singing competition that takes place in Paris. Paula will be found in a personal dilemma, because it is very difficult to part with her parents but also she wants to chase her dreams. Although it is a family comedy, "La famille Belier" had several touching moments which caused feelings to stir in the most viewers. The French director Éric Lartigau placed great emphasis on the film's script and funny aptly combined with the dramatic scenes. However, I noticed that its development didn’t have a solid performance, as the rhythm fell somewhat sharply, which occurred mainly in the first half of the film. However, the second part had more rapid evolution and some notable tracks that were heard by Michael Sardou, helped enough in the overall result. "La famille Belier" was very funny and it had clever dialogue, interesting plot, nice direction and very good performances. The young actress was excellent in the main role and I thought that she was an experienced actress. However, Louane Emera had never attended acting classes and her participation in the French The Voice seemed to help her in being selected for the film. She interpreted professionally the demanding role and won the appreciation of critics everywhere. Moreover, she won the César award for "Most Promising Actress"! Equally good were both of her parents, François Damiens and Karin Viard, who caused more laughter with the eccentric characters who they impersonated. The two screenwriters of the film, Victoria Bedos and Stanislas Carré de Malberg, inspired a beautiful adulthood story, containing abundant moments of joy and several doses of emotion. However, I must mention that there seemed to be somewhat exaggerated movements of the hands of François Damiens and Karin Viard, since it alluded somewhat to parody. Of course, the director did not intend to ridicule the sign language of the deaf but the fact that many viewers, mostly women, cluck unconsciously during the movie, it didn’t leave a very good impression on me. In the open air cinema which I saw it, they sat in the front seat, three young deaf people who did not laugh with all of them. Maybe, the director should have avoided some wicked dialogues which made reference to corresponding hand movements. "La Famille Belier" is definitely one of the most pleasant French movies I've ever seen on the big screen in recent years! Although I do not go crazy for French cinema, when released worthwhile French productions, there is no way to lose them. The French are very fond of cinema and it is no coincidence that the country ranks second in production worldwide film. First are the Americans, of course."La famille Belier" is one of the best film proposals this year and it was a sleeper hit in my country’s Box Office! I didn't find its official trailer with english subtitles. What a shame! y36W7P1FxJI

"San Andreas" was released in cinemas over four months ago. It hit comfortably on top of my country’s Box Office but without making very large numbers. The fact is that my country faced a crisis and so did the cinematic world, which resulted in that not many films called the viewers attention. There were only a few exceptions, like Mad Max: Fury Road and Avengers: Age of Ultron. I had not seen the official trailer before, but reading a few lines about its case, I imagined that it'll be a very impressive film on the big screen! After the San Andreas fault becomes active, which in the movie causes a 9.1 earthquake on the Richter scale in the region, a helicopter rescue pilot and his estranged wife will fly from Los Angeles to San Francisco to save their daughter. However, in their effort to reach her as soon as possible they will face very difficult situations that they will have to work out. The film has non-stop action from the first to the last minute. It has incredible visual and sound effects, elaborate montage, great cinematography and amazing scenes of destruction! The Canadian director Brad Peyton has done an excellent job even though the film contains many exaggerations and inaccuracies in terms of the intensity of the earthquake and tsunami. Nevertheless, he made sure to consult with experts on the subject and proposed the actors to play themselves in difficult scenes. The protagonist of the film is Dwayne Johnson, whose popularity has risen to high levels in recent years. The specific role required no special talent hypocritical although "The Rock" convinced me in some dramatic scenes. However, it wasn’t a film that was based on interpretations although the writer Carlton Cuse combined family relationships with survival. Furthermore, Carla Cugino was quite good as his co-star while in the remaining roles, the gorgeous Alexandra Daddario caused "earthquakes" herself. She has stunning eyes! "San Andreas" had also very nice photography, interesting plot and wonderful soundtrack by Andrew Lockington. Surely, the story didn’t avoid the familiar cliché type and melodrama. The latter began making strong presence in the last half hour of the film but the film is so spectacular that it overshadows every handicap. "San Andreas" is definitely one of the most thrilling movies I've seen so far this year! See "Mad Max: Fury Road" one week before, I thought I would not see something better - or equally good - until the end of summer but "San Andreas" surpassed all my expectations. Maybe it received mixed reviews from professionals in the film industry but this did not affect large sections of the public who saw it at the cinema. It cost $110 million and it has earned more than four times its budget worldwide! So, you can realize that this is one of the most successful films of the year that will end up very high on the list of the biggest Box Office disaster movies! I suggest you watch it only on the big screen!
