  4. "Get Down" deserves this score. It's not one of their best singles. It's quite cheesy.
  5. I voted Bounce again. I like Kelis but I think that she has much better songs than it..

The new film adaptation of "Madame Bovary" was released in my country four months ago. It was based on the famous novel by French writer Gustave Flaubert, who became widely known in his time. I have not read the book yet -although I'm not a fan of this particular kind of book genre- nor have I seen its old versions on TV. So, I thought it was just a good option to watch it in a neighborhood cinema to get a good taste for the famous female figure of literature. The main heroine of the story, Emma, lives with her father in a farm in Northern France. Basically, in Normandy. However, her life will change for the better when she gets married to a rich doctor from her region, Charles Bovary. Nevertheless, she will soon realize that her life is not as she had imagined and boredom will push her to become more impulsive in her personal life. The acquaintances with some single people in her region, will play a catalytic role in her psychology. Combined with the huge debts she will have because of irrational waste on clothes and objects, will cause her to take a desperate step. The Franco-American Sophie Barthes was not limited to the directorial piece of "Madame Bovary" but she wrote the script along with Rose Barreneche. Sophie Barthes seems particularly fascinated by the specific character of world literature since she assisted in the production of the film too. Her aim was not to direct an alternative film version of "Madame Bovary" as Joe Wright had done in "Anna Karenina"a few years ago. She preferred not to deviate too much from novel, although sometimes she did it based on her own words. However, it seemed to me that she didn't develop the main character as it should be and maybe it's not her fault. Since it would be very difficult to accommodate the 329 pages of the novel into her film in less than two hours. Having said that, she could have come more quickly in the main case after the first half hour / fourty-five minutes. We saw mainly the melancholy gaze of the protagonist and some dull shots of French countryside. But from the second half of the course, it had more interest and "Madame Bovary" acquired the multidimensional personality of the book. The protagonist of the film is the talented Australian actress Mia Wasikowska who usually participates in period films. Previously, Keira Knightley had this honor but it seems that movie studios now found a worthy replacement for her. Though I still prefer Keira. The other interpretations were quite good with top honors to Rhys Ifans who impersonated Monsieur Lheureux. "Madame Bovary" was directed nicely, it had beautiful photography, good cinematography and fine period costumes. It is a meticulous production but I guess that it does not make a difference from the other film adaptations of its kind. It might be blamed on the fact that it resembled soap opera in several scenes. However, it is seen pleasantly by all ages and it spreads many social messages with the tragic story of the heroine. "Madame Bovary" was released at a time when the majority of films struggle to make decent numbers in my country. However, it is a dramatic story that will thrill the audience enough. Especially women. The film received mixed reviews after its premiere and garnered a mediocre average score in IMDb (5,7). I imagine that those who have read the book, are not so interested or fascinated with the new film version of the famous madame of literature. In my opinion, it would be better that if these stories be better adapted as a mini TV series as the successful BBC Films knows to make them greatly! La-clCmfWGo
  7. "Mad Max: Fury Road" was released in theaters worldwide in mid May. It was also screened at the Cannes Film Festival without participating in the main competition section and it received very positive reviews! "Mad Max: Fury Road" is an action film that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, where people live in complete misery. The Australian director George Miller who worked on the trilogy Mad Max from the late 70s to the mid 80s, was the one who still envisioned the new chapter of the hardened hero. "Mad Max: Fury Road" is definitely one of the most exciting adventures I've ever seen on the big screen! The story unfolds in the barren earth, where Mad Max is found alongside the warrior Furiosa, which carries precious cargo in order to escape from the fort of Immortan Joe. The latter will bring together a gang consisting of the War Boys and he unleashed a merciless manhunt to get back what is stolen by Furiosa. "Mad Max: Fury Road" is a laid out, action-packed and plenty of suspense blockbuster. It has also incredibly technical and sound effects, interesting story, fast plot, ample doses of madness and good interpretations. George Miller made an impressive film that stands out enough from the original films of Mad Max. In some scenes, it reminded me of Sin City, especially in the scenes in which you can see the furious Immortan Joe. Miller not only took over the visual part of the film, but also he wrote the script along with Brendan McCarthy and Nico Lathouris. Moreover, he was one of the producers of the film. The protagonist of the film is Tom Hardy, who is considered a worthy replacement for Mel Gibson while Charlize Theron was the one who impersonated Furiosa and she was perfectly suited for her role. The new chapter of Mad Max had also excellent cinematography, atmospheric photography and very loud soundtrack. "Mad Max: Fury Road" has a very meticulous production, in which many factors worked in order to come out a perfect result. "Mad Max: Fury Road" is already one of my favorite films this year! It had consecutive scenes actions to such an extent that you cannot get bored even one minute. The leading pair was one of the best for these kinds of movies, which played an important role in the overall result. "Mad Max: Fury Road" has received very high ratings from experts in the film industry while in IMDb is among the 150 best films of all time based on the preferences of its users. I think that is one of the movies you should not miss this year!

I just watched the 6 chair challenge! I believe that Havva didn't deserve a chair. Sharon Rose and Lucy were better than her! Charli Beard (Ella Henderson's clone) was one of my favourites but she had a bad perfomance. I really like Louisa, Keira and Lauren They deserve to be in the final. Keira has the star quality for me. Monica is quite good but she reminds me a fattier version of Alesha Dixon (in a good way).. :P
  9. This is already one of my favourite songs in this year! I feel that it will be their best era! Their vocals are great!
  10. I thought that "Anywhere For You" would be in the Top 20! It's a nice song but it's a little bit forgettable too.
  11. "I Believe In You" is my least favourite of them.
  12. I voted "Bounce" again but it has fans here.. :P
  13. "Tomorrowland" is an ambitious project of Disney which was released in many countries worldwide in the last ten days of May. It features an original script idea and producers made sure to spend several million dollars on the budget. $ 190 million to be exact. It is one of the biggest productions of 2015 and Disney bet a great deal on this film. I cannot say that its official trailer totally impressed me, but firstly I'm a big fan of science fiction films and secondly seek to see a pop corn movie after the god awful "Goodbye to Language". "Tomorrowland" has to do with a futuristic world, which could also form the option of the real world if it was destroyed. A brilliant, fearless, yet optimistic teenager, Casey Newton, will want to know information from a simultaneously cynical and discouraged inventor, Frank Walker. The latter had visited Tomorrowland at the age of ten. The two of them together with the aid of an advanced robot in human form and behavior, will try to change the bleak future of the earth in every way. The talented Brad Bird took over the directing and he wrote the screenplay along with Damon Lindelof and Jeffrey Chernov! "Tomorrowland" had impressive directing, elaborate visual effects, loud sound effects and captivating photography. The display of “Tomorrowland” was excellent, something to justify again the magical world of Disney. Britt Robertson was very convincing in her role while George Clooney was the first and best choice for the central character that he portrayed. The film was also funny and it had enjoyable dialogues, imaginative costumes and the evolution was quite pleasant. Of course, just before the end, it had a slower pace and the story became a bit of cliché, but as we all know this is a common thing in the films of this studio. So, it is justified in some way. However, the film imparts too many messages to the audience and motivates through the story to become more active and more environmentally friendly. Moreover, the future cannot change for the better, with people who function as passive receivers in societies in which they live. For this reason, "Tomorrowland" is quite set apart from the other blockbusters that we have seen this year such as Avengers: Age of Ultron, Furious 7 etc. We don’t need another heroes because we can all be heroes. Everyday and every time. I would say that "Tomorrowland" was a pleasant surprise after I did not expect that it would be so good. It aptly combined science fiction with action and adventure and the visual result was the eye catcher. Nevertheless, it had not the expected exposure in the Box Office and its total earnings were not very satisfactory. There are many who believe that it’s one of this year’s failures. It may have played a role that it received lukewarm reviews or the fact that it’s an original script idea. It is no coincidence that hackneyed stories were Box Office successes such as Cinderella when fresh cinematic ideas go largely unnoticed such as Jupiter Ascending, Chappie etc. Predictable and boring world…
  14. "Goodbye to Language" is the latest film of the recognized Franco-Swiss filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard. It was originally screened at the last year's Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Jury Prize along with the amazing "Mommy" of Xavier Dolan. Later, it participated in another international film festivals and was voted as the "Best Film of the Year" by the Association of Critics of the United States! I had not seen the official trailer anywhere and the truth is that I did not go and bother to look on my own. And that of course was my biggest mistake because if I had seen it earlier, I would have avoided watching this abomination/monstrosity on the big screen. "Goodbye to Language" is divided into two parts. The first is the "Nature" and the second is the "Metaphor". However, the same pattern is repeated several times during the film. Since the beginning, I exclaimed "WTF" in the room. Do not expect to see a complete movie since "Goodbye to Language" had no cohesion in its evolution. You were likely to see bad editing, in which there were scattered scenes and were combined in an unrelated form. The film was lost in abstract philosophical dialogues, it had moderate to poor performances, amateur directing, unjustifiable nudity and anything else you can think of. Even farts! Meanwhile, a violin solaris sounded every now and then, thinking that something tragic will happen but it was not anything. It seemed like a weird dream that you could not explain when you woke up. It was no surprise that I fell asleep in the last 30 minutes of the film. Frankly, I wonder who financed such films in these hard times. It mostly evokes a poor amateurish attempt on YouTube than an acclaimed film director. It is 70 minutes long, but you will feel pain watching it. "Goodbye to Language" is by far the worst movie I've ever seen in the cinema! It was nonsense from beginning to end and I didn't find anything interesting and substantial about its content. Jean-Luc Godard may want to differ from the other directors, but mostly distinguishes -in my view- as caricature/colourful than an artist with vision. I haven't seen previous films from this director and I can't be the best judge, but "Goodbye to Language" certainly shows that this man has lost his mind. To imagine that I thought until recently that I wouldn't see a worse film than last year's "A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence". I really cried, but because of the money I lost watching this film. 7mB5Grs_neA

  16. One of the boys but "Thinking of You" is quite bad too. I feel that it's her worst performance. She cannot sing this kind of songs although I'm a big fan of hers.
  17. "Tangerines" is an Estonian-Georgian film that was released in my country four months ago. I waited to see this movie for a long time because it was proposed by the Committee of the Golden Globes and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for "Best Foreign Language Film". Having seen all the nominated films in this category, I think the "Tangerines" was wronged. Under no circumstances should the overrated "Ida" have won but unfortunately, in this specific category, the weakest films were chosen in recent years. For example, see "La Grande Bellezza" and judge for yourself. "Tangerines" takes place during the War of Abkhazia in 1992. The main character of the film is the old Estonian Ivo, who cherishes in his home two wounded soldiers from opposing sides. One of them is Chechen and the other one is Georgian. Their unexpected cohabitation will not be the best solution since they always find an opportunity to argue strongly. However, the courageous and calm Ivo will be the one who will appease their spirits each time. Georgian Zaza Urushadze not only wrote the "Tangerines" scipt but he cared to undertake the directing and assisting in the production together with Ivo Felt. Although the script was written in two weeks, it is in no way a rough copy. Instead, it has well-written dialogues, an interesting story and it spreads its own antiwar messages to the viewers through the war in Abkhazia. The interpretations of the actors were very good, distinguishing this of the leading protagonist Lembit Ulfsak, who was excellent in his role! Furthermore, I found the directing quite good and the soundtrack was nice. There was high tension and suspense throughout the duration of the film. From the beginning till the end, you cannot be absolutely certain about the ending and this was a reason to like it even more! "Tangerines" is undoubtedly one of the best cinematic stories of last year! It's a very human film that will excite but also puzzle the audience. It was the first time an Estonian film was nominated for the Golden Statuette, causing feelings of pride to Estonians! It has received very good reviews worldwide and it is no coincidence that it has garnered a very high average score in IMDb (8,4). I highly recommended it!!! Don’t miss it! 18. "Bounce" is my least favourite of them..
  19. I'm not "Crazy For You"..
  20. "Pasolini" was released in my country four months ago. It was screened in the last year's Venice Film Festival, where it competed for the Golden Lion and it was also presented at the Toronto film festival in the Special Presentations section. The protagonist of the film is the talented Willem Dafoe, who has participated in several productions in recent years such as "The Fault In Our Stars", "The Grand Budapest Hotel", "A Most Wanted Man", "The Hunter", "Nymphomaniac" etc. Although I have not seen a Pier Paolo Pasolini film yet, I was very inquisitive to watch his biography. Do not expect to see the life of Pasolini on the big screen after "Pasolini" deals exclusively with the last days of his life. To be honest, I did not know it before, because I expected to watch frame by frame the most important moments of his life. On the contrary, the Italian director Abel Ferrara and the writer Maurizio Braucci were restricted to a particular time of his life and they did not develop all the personality of the famous director. As we all know, Pier Paolo Pasolini was a controversial figure in his time and his films divided the public in their opinions about his films. There were many who loved his work and several who hated it because of the provocative and violent content. Personally, because I have not seen part of his job, I can not express an opinion about it. However, after seeing the film I can realise some things about his filmography. Unfortunately, "Pasolini" was totally disappointing since there was no consistency in the script. There were several scenes that were surreal and you could not be sure about their contribution to the film. It also contains some provocative scenes that will surely shock the audience, as well as some classic songs which were heard towards the end of the film. They were quite irritating. Willem Dafoe was very good in his role but unfortunately one swallow does not make a summer. I did not like the directing nor the script of the movie, since there were several dialogues which were hard to understand. Abel Ferrara could have avoided all these fantastic scenes and he could have created a film that would have feautured the work and the personality of the eccentric director. Instead he preferred to make a special movie, so he could be more artistically recognized himself, overshadowing the central figure of history. In my opinion,"Pasolini" was a pretty bad movie which didn't have many things to offer to its viewers. It had a tiring directing thereby it caused me many yawns in the cinema. The only positive thing was the fact that we could laugh based on what we saw, so we had a pleasant time. In no case, however, it is a movie to watch alone. Also, it has received a low score in IMDb (5,8). I'm not the only one who did not like it at all. It has already been nominated for the worst movie of this year based on my personal list. 5GzlodaMPLQ
  21. Nice suggestions. I 'll take them into account! Did you watch the Russian film "Leviathan"?
  22. 'Thinking About You (feat. Ayah Marar)" is not one of his best singles.
  23. "Clouds of Sils Maria" was released in my country’s cinemas four months ago. It was originally screened at last year's Cannes Film Festival, where it competed for the Golden Palm, but ultimately not intrigued the jury. Nevertheless, it participated in many international film festivals. It won the Louis Delluc Prize for "Best Film" and the misunderstood Kristen Stewart was awarded with the César Award for "Best Supporting Actress"! I hadn’t read the plot of the film but that fact that it took part in the qualified Cannes Film Festival and had multiple nominations in French movie awards, convinced me that its content may have had something to tell us. "Clouds of Sils Maria" is a dramatic film, without of course to focus on weeping and wailing as other movies. The protagonist of the film, Maria, (Juliette Binoche) is an established actress who will participate in the same play that she starred at the start of her career. However, this time she will not portray the central character of the story (Sigrid), since the producers and the director thought that she is old enough to reprise this role. So, they will suggest her to play the role of Elena that suits her age and temperament. Maria and her personal assistant (Kristen Stewart) will stay in Sills Maria, a secluded and idyllic Alpine region, where they will practice theatrical texts. The acquaintance of Mary with the eccentric actor (Chloë Grace Moretz) who will portray the young Sigrid, as it will be crucial, because she realizes that the years have now passed and the young actors have already being changed by the oldest. The scenario of "Clouds of Sils Maria" reminded me of several points of "Birdman", although the latter was released later in cinemas. The Frenchman Olivier Assayas who wrote the script and directed the film, was for the fourth time contender for the Golden Palm! Although he failed to impress the jury once again, the film received positive reviews worldwide. "Clouds of Sils Maria" had interesting directing, well-written dialogues, magnificent photography and great cinematography. However, I think the interpretations of the main actresses were those who stole the show, after the film was based entirely on them. Juliette Binoche was great with her role while Kristen Stewart was a worthy co-star. Nevertheless, I keep some reservations about Stewart’ performance because her character in "Clouds of Sils Maria" reminded me of the same role she had in "Still Alice" and I wonder if this was due to a diabolical coincidence or because of her limited interpretation of talent. Though, she is the first American actress to win the César Award and this event honors the particular actress. "Clouds of Sils Maria" is a film based on the vanity of the art world, the psychology of the actors but also to women's concerns when midlife crisis passed. I cannot say that I loved the evolution of the story since some yawns quickly made their appearances. However, I quite liked the dialogues, the interpretations of the two actresses and the amazing shots of Sills Maria. Although it didn’t cost a lot of money for the production ($ 6.6 million), it failed to make decent numbers and its total revenues worldwide were quite disappointing. Something that it would have happened with Birdman too, if it had not received the numerous nominations and awards at the Oscars. I would recommend it to very specific people. Zup27u6tMzY
