European Cinema 2013-2015
I watched "Force Majeure" eight months ago. I opened a topic about it. It was one of my favourites movies of last year! The avalanche was very impressive at the beginning of the film but I really gave attention to the characters of the story! I'm not a father but I'm old enough to know how people react when they are in danger. However, I appreciate the fact that you are honest about your thoughts and you don't pretend that you gave emphasis to the script idea. When I was your age, I never pay attention to the script too.. :P

Secret in Their Eyes
" Secret in Their Eyes" is based on the 2005 novel originally titled La pregunta de sus ojos (The Question in Their Eyes) by Argentinian author Eduardo Sacheri. I watched the Argentinian version (El secreto de sus ojos) in an outdoor cinema five years ago! It won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film at the 82nd Academy Awards! I woudn't say that I loved the Argentinian movie because its evolution was quite slow. I totally believe that "White Ribbon" deserved the golden statuette that year! However, I will watch the American version because of the cast! Julia Roberts is my favourite actress, Nicole Kidman is one of my favourites and Chiwetel Ejiofor was great in "12 Years a Slave"! Avengers: Age Of Ultron
The new movie of the Avengers was released in theaters worldwide over four months ago! It was one of the movies that the audience was eager to see it since the beginning of the year and everyone was sure of its huge success in the Box Office. Although I like almost all super heroes of Marvel, I would not say that I was satisfied with the first film and I found it quite lukewarm for having so impressive earnings. So I did not have very high expectations for the sequel. However, "Age of Ultron" seemed even worse and I couldn't help but wonder with the movie options of spectators when exceptional films go unnoticed . "Age of Ultron" starts immediately with an action scene and everything happens so quickly to the point that it caused me a headache from the first quarter. There were rapidly changing images, several reports of names, unwarranted explosions, many buildings disasters and no particular substance. The evil face of the case is the Ultron, who wants to save the planet Earth from humanity and wants to kill off the "good" Avengers. Joss Whedon took over the directing and script of the Avengers, after Marvel Studios wanted to collaborate with him again. So Joss Whedon add some personal touches on the story. Despite this, the new film had tragic dialogues, invalid cues, indifferent performances and bad actors choices in the additions of new heroes such as Pietro Maximoff / Quicksilver and Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch. Honestly its result caused me discomfort in the film room and I was not happy with everything that I saw. The problem with the Avengers is that moderate actors (there are some exceptions) have become super stars and all this lifestyle seemed amply to the new chapter. It was a film exclusively for children and adolescents, or adults who do not want to grow up . What a pity, however, because in recent years, there have been a number of remarkable films / productions with depth and substance and the audience prefers to see this bullshit. "Avengers: Age of Ultron" is definitely one of the worst movies I saw this year. Its visual result failed to impress me and all they all seemed mildly unacceptable and false. However, the film surpassed the $1.400.000.000 revenues worldwide and it's the third-highest- grossing film of the year after the unutterable "Furius 7". Marvel Studios has announced the next two films of The Avengers "Avengers: Infinity War - Part 1" and "Avengers: Infinity War - Part 2", which will be released in 2018 and 2019 respectively. Hopefully they will have a better result than this nonsense because it is a shame to burn viewer brain cells with such scenarios.

Woman In Gold
"Woman in Gold" is a courtroom drama which was released in my country’s cinemas over four months ago! The protagonist of the film is the famous and acclaimed actress Helen Mirren, who worked for the first time with the famous actor Ryan Reynolds. The film was originally screened in the Berlinale Special Galas of the Berlin International Film Festival and made its official premiere in America in the first week of April! I wanted very much to see the "Woman in Gold" because on the one hand I'm a big fan of Helen Mirren and secondly, I always find stories more interesting when they are based on true events! "Woman in Gold" has to do with the litigation brought on by Marie Altman, a Jew, against the Austrian government, which ending lasted for about a decade! Altman claimed her family relics, which were stolen by the Nazis during the Second World War and after the defeat of Nazi Germany ended up in the Museum of Vienna. Among them was the famous painting by Klimt, «Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I» or "Woman in Gold". Ally to Altman, Randol (Randy) Schoenberg, is a persistent but not a very well experienced lawyer, will stand by her side until the end of the legal battle. However, they will encounter many obstacles. The British director Simon Curtis has used many flashbacks throughout the course of the film, which incredibly combined with shots of today and made sure to convey in the most convincing way the particular story on screen. He did a nice job while the screenwriter Alexi Kaye Campbell added some funny and cynical dialogues between the two protagonists, who created a pleasant atmosphere although it was a very moving event. In this way, the director avoided all the kinds of clichés which typically are found in similar movies. The interpretation of Helen Mirren was excellent once again while Ryan Reynolds stood worthy to her side. I think it is already one of the most special collaborations of the year! "Woman in Gold" also had elaborate montage, very beautiful photography, outstanding art direction and wonderful soundtrack by Hans Zimmer! It's a very powerful story that has to do with justice and injustice, the past with the present and the great emotional value acquired by the family objects with the passage of time! I do not think that there were many spectators who didn’t tear up with this movie. What happened to Marie Altman is just one of thousands of cases pending unfortunately even today. "Woman in Gold" is definitely one of my favorite movies in recent years! It is a very meticulous production, evolving interest without tiring the audience. It has received a very good rating from IMDb users (7.4), although, for me, it is worth much more! I did not expect it would be so good, so I would say -without exaggeration- that is one of the films which pleasantly surprised me this year! I highly recommend it to everyone! I totally loved the soundtrack! sZFQiy9daY4
