  1. I think that I asked you in my "Actress Rate" but maybe you didn't see it. I just checked some of her new songs on youtube. She is very interesting singer and I like her artistic videos. I believe that "blue blue" is the highlight of her new album. Lovely tune!
  2. I still regret that I didn't buy tickets for her concert in Athens. One of my best friends had a bad effect on me..He told me that she would sing songs only from "Artpop" which I don't like it so much. However, Lady Gaga had an effect with her music on my life five years ago and I always listened to her music very loud at my home. I should go only for the experience..
  3. Voted for "Finest Selection: The Greatest Hits Era (Finest Selection: The Greatest Hits)" because it seems very cheapy. Save: Headlines, Missing You and What About Us.
  4. Total Points : 13 Emma Watson http://cache.pakistantoday.com.pk/Emma-Watson-hair-Vogue-14May14-PA_b_426x639.jpg Emma Watson is the most beautiful young actress for me! She is very sweet and elegant too. She is an English actress and model. Watson was born in Paris and she lived there until the age of five. Then she moved back to England to live with her mother in Oxfordshire while spending weekends at her father's house in London. She is famous for her role as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film series. She starred in all eight Harry Potter films, alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint. Watson's work on the Harry Potter series has earned her several awards and more than £10 million!!! In October 2013, she was voted Sexiest Female Movie Star in a worldwide poll conducted by Empire magazine. She has promoted education for girls, visiting Bangladesh and Zambia to do so. Watson was appointed as a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador in 2014. She helped launch the UN Women campaign HeForShe, which calls for men to advocate for "gender equality". She is a great role model for young people. Three members like her acting and they voted her. I have watched many of her films so far : Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (The beginning was very good and it had some funny scenes), Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (The most dark part of the series), Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (One of my favourite part of the series), Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 (It had great ending and I'm sure that hardcore fans would have cried in the cinema), My Week with Marilyn (Nice movie with nice performances, Marilyn was IDOL), The Perks of Being a Wallflower (it was one of my favourite movies last year) and Noah (Very disappointing and I feel that her acting wasn't very good). I would suggest you to watch "Harry Potter Films" but I'm sure that you have already watched them (It's quite weird to suggest these movies to British.. :P), "My Week with Marilyn" because it was a decent movie and the story was interesting (especially for the fans of Marilyn) and "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" because it's an emotional story with intriguing characters and charismatic performances. Plus, the soundtrack was awesome.
  5. Total Points : 13 Amy Poehler http://images.lifeandstylemag.com/uploads/posts/image/31908/amy-poehler-taylor-swift-hell.jpg The truth is that I don't know anything about Amy Poehler. When I saw her name in this rate, I tried to remember who she could be..Maybe Americans and British are more connected with her in comparison with people who live in other countries. Amy Poehler is an American actress, comedian, voice artist, producer and writer. Her father is of German, Irish, Portuguese, and English ancestry, and her mother is of Irish descent. Poehler was raised in the Catholic faith. Her first film role was in "Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo" (1999). She was a cast member on the NBC television show Saturday Night Live from 2001 to 2008. In 2004, she became the co-anchor of the Weekend Update sketch along with her friend and colleague Tina Fey. Poehler's work on SNL earned her two Primetime Emmy Award nominations for "Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series". Since 2009, she has starred as Leslie Knope in the sitcom "Parks and Recreation", for which she has received five consecutive nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for "Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series", and three consecutive Golden Globe nominations for "Best Actress in a Television Musical or Comedy Series", with one win in 2014. Three members had her name on their lsits. I have watched only two of her movies so far : Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo (Funny but ridiculous too) and Mean Girls (Very funny). I would suggest you to watch "Mean Girls" but I'm sure that you have already watched it a couple of times. However, I think that she is too high in this rate based on her poor filmography..
  6. Total Points : 13 Glenn Close http://famesurgery.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Glenn-Close.jpg What an amazing actress!!! Glenn Close hasn't won any Academy Award yet, although she deserved a lot of them..She is an American film, television and stage actress. Her first film role was in "The World According to Garp" (1982) which she followed up with supporting roles in "The Big Chill" (1983), and "The Natural" (1984); all three earned her nominations for the Academy Award for "Best Supporting Actress". She would later receive nominations for the Academy Award for "Best Actress" for her performances in Fatal Attraction (1987), Dangerous Liaisons (1988), and Albert Nobbs (2011). Throughout her long and varied career, she has been consistently acclaimed for her versatility and is considered by many to be one of the greatest actresses of all time (l totally agree..). She has won three Emmy Awards and three Tony Awards. Close is a six-time Academy Award nominee, tying the record for being the actress with the most nominations never to have won (along with Deborah Kerr and Thelma Ritter). She has also been nominated three times for a Grammy Award and once for a BAFTA. Three members appreciate her acting and they voted her (One of them was me)! I have watched some of her movies so far : Fatal Attraction (She was great there, she deserved the Golden Statuette but..), The House of The Spirits (Intriguing script, very good plot, great performances, plus Meryl Streep & Glenn Close), Mars Attacks! (Quite funny movie), 101 Dalmatians (She was perfect as Cruella de Vil), Le Divorce (forgettable), The Stepford Wives (A little bit disappointing), Nine Lives (I really like this movie, interesting script with unpredictable ending), Albert Nobbs (Charismatic performances, interesting script) and Guardians of the Galaxy (One of the most exciting movies this year!). I would suggest you to watch "Fatal Attraction" because it's one of the best movies of the 80's, "The House of The Spirits" because the cast is amazing and the story has something to say, "101 Dalmatians" because it was one of the best adaptation in 90's, "Nine Lives" because it has mystery and suspense, "Albert Nobbs" because Glenn was incredible with her role and the story is quite unusual and "Guardians of the Galaxy" because it's one of the most pleasant movies this year! I'm sure that you will enjoy it a lot.
  7. It was my first thought about it. It's not something special. Selena has much better songs than it.
  8. At last! I just knew who was the girl on your avatar. I have asked you but maybe you didn't see my message. I just listened to"blue blue" and it sounds very good. Thank you for this!!!
  9. I love all of them and I have listened to them a million times apart from "Too Lost In You". I'm not so connected with this song.
  10. It's Britney Bitch! Gimme More..

I just watched the official trailer and it looks intriguing. It received negative reviews and I don't know why critics hate so much horror films. At least, they have a big fanbase. It's already a very successful film at the Box Office. I will go to watch it! _T1Jj1inE8M Ps The first girl looks like Nadine Coyle..
  12. 1* Do you remember Kinski's character and outfit..? :P 2* Noooooooooooo..."The Brave One" is one of her best roles. I love this movie. 3* It's an offensive movie for eveyone on this planet.. :P :D :D :D :D :D She is unbelievable! I'm really sorry for this but I wached so many movies at the cinema in the last weeks. I usually write a Greek and English review and it takes me a lot of time. That's why I haven't posted in this thread yet. http://i.perezhilton.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/celine-dion-kiss.gif You mean their biographies because I don't know them personally.. :)

"Afire Love" is one of my favourite songs by him. "TOL" is not bad but it's not something special too.
  14. I stand by my choice. Overload!
  15. "Human Capital" is an Italian production based on the homonymous book by American author Stephen Amidon. It won a total of seven awards from the “Italian National Syndicate of Film Journalists” and it stood out at many film festivals in Italia."Human Capital" is the formal proposal of Italy for the "Best Foreign Language Film" at the upcoming Oscar. I believe that it will be very diffucult to win the Gold Statuette because last year the prize went to "La Grande Belleza" and the Academy will avoid giving the same country a concecutive prize. Especially this year in which involves a gran total of 83 candidate movies from all over the world! "Human Capital" was much better than I expected because after "La Grande Belleza" I'm afraid of Italian productions. Paolo Virzì not only directed the film but also wrote the script together with Francesco Piccolo and Francesko Bruni. The story is based on a fatal hit of a cyclist. Then, an SUV driver leaves him helpless on the edge of a country road. In this tragic incident, involving two families, it unites the love affair of their children. The writers divided the film into four chapters which the case unfolds slowly in each of them. The first three relate to the three main characters of the story and the last one is the epilogue. It contains several flashbacks that begin and end at the same time and the three chapters are evolved along although are followed one after the other. I found all this very exciting because Paolo Virzì cleverly used the script idea with this way of directing. The performances were very good all over the cast and the lead actress Valeria Bruni Tedeschi was the big winner at the 12th Tribeca Film Festival! She was great with her role. The plot holds your interest from beginning to end and the story became more intriguing at every minute. It had elaborate editing, wonderful cinematography and great scenery. The author wanted through this story to illustrate how to determine the value of human life from the "capital" and also from the people who live in capitalist societies. He used aptly the incident of the cyclist and enriched his story with interesting characters. "Human Capital" is definitely one of the best European productions this year. It had satisfactory earnings in the Italian Box Office (fourth most commercial Italian film of the year) and from April onwards, it has been viewed worldwide in many film festivals. I'm not sure if it'll be one of the five selected films by the Academy of Oscar but based on what I saw I think that it deserves a nomination. 7VnEFuYWND4

Movies would be a nice hobby too.. :kink:
  17. I love all of them but "Gimme More" is quite repetitive. Her first two albums had amazing singles and they need to stay in this round.

It's a great single choice and it's very catchy!! I'm so excited about her new album. I didn't expect it to be so good! Taylor totally saved pop music this year.
  19. What happened here??? "Princess of China" is masterpiece!!! I voted "Take Care" again.
  20. ***Flawless (feat. Nicki Minaj). Why don't you vote it?? It sucks..
  21. "The One That Got Away" is a great song!! I love the nostalgic videoclip too. Katy was gorgeous there. So, I voted "Waking Up In Vegas".
  22. I like both of them but "Denial" reminds me of the good old moments..
  23. '71

Insomnio posted a post in a topic in Movies and Theatre
'71 is a British production based on events that occurred in 1971 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The film was screened at the Berlin Film Festival, without winning a prize but received very positive reviews. It was released two weeks ago in my country and I was impressed by the size of the crowd in the cinema. It seems that Greeks (highbrows or not) really care about the events of that era. During the film, we did not hear even a whisper. There was such dedication which I have not seen anywhere else. Or maybe they were sleeping? '71 had powerful beginning, however, it lost its high tension and slowed down at the end. While the first half of the film (the cinema hall had a break) there was tension, fast cutting and exciting chase scenes in the second half till the end, the story lost its intensity and the dark image did not help at all the whole situation. The dingy and depressing shots and the shaky camera which always cause nausea to the viewers, were not the best for the eye. I thought the script would be interesting but ultimately limited to something that we have seen many times in the movies. Instead of doing an introduction and explain some things about the events of that time (or at least show them), puts you directly into the atmosphere and ends up becoming a movie with chases that reminded us of the mafia movies of the 70s (who is the bad or good guy, etc.). Not even political background was explained. I did not find intriguing the plot and I think there are much better films on the dramatic events of that period. The actors, however, were quite good and generally, British productions are always based on great performances! It is no coincidence that even in Hollywood, British actors/es excel with their talent, while American actors/es are limited to sympathetic interpretations (Okay, there are some exceptions). However, the photography in some shots was good (when it was not in the blackness), the elaborate montage was excellent in the first half hour and the cinematography was great overall. The director Yann Demange could not do too much with this script but it seems that his different influences have confused him since '71 was a bit of all. It was a movie which culture lovers would love (because it had a few dialogues), it had many similarities to Mafia movies and it had Hollywood action too. Justified because he is a young and upcoming director, otherwise if he was a bit more experienced, I would say that it was a bad time. However, in some places, he managed to create a realistic scene. Although critics and hipsters praised '71, it did not move me at all. Of course, it was not a bad movie but it could have had a better total result. It started very strong but it was quite tired in the second part. If the writer held the tension from the beginning till the end, we would see one of the most exiting stories of the year, but with such a result in any case. However, the majority of users of IMDb (1.821 so far) have a different opinion than my own and they have given very high scores to this movie as its average score is a 7.8! Personally, I would give a unit less because I did not find the whole scenario fascinating. It was the personal story of a soldier which didn't add something new to our knowledge. I feel like something is missing. kIYDNyEkJP4
  24. I voted for "Finest Selection: The Greatest Hits Era"! It's not good. Save "Ego", "Missing You" and "What About Us". The latter is a great cover for a pop group like them.
