These are shocking news (in a good way)!! "Unwritten" is one of my favourite songs ever! She is great singer although "I wanna have your babies" was quite bad (especially the lyrics).
  3. I love the majority of these songs. "My Heart Will Go On" is your favourite Celine's song? Lana Del Rey- Born To Die The Black Eyed Peas- Where Is The Love The Saturdays- Forever Is Over Sugababes- Push The Button Taylor Swift- We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together Christina Perri- Jar Of Hearts Alexandra Burke- Broken Heels Shontelle- Impossible Pink- Who Knew Eva Cassidy- Over The Rainbow Gabriella Climi- Sweet About Me Green Day- American Idiot Katrina And The Waves- Walking On Sunshine Leona Lewis- Run Lana Del Rey- Lucky Ones Pink- Perfect Celine Dion- My Heart Will Go On
  4. "I'm A Slave 4 U". Biatch! "12 Years A Slave" proved that slavery sucks. However, I voted "Gimme More" because it's quite repetitive.
  5. "Caught In A Moment" is a brilliant song! "Overload" out!
  6. I love all of them but "Please Don't Leave" is my least favourite. I don't like Pink when she begs her relationships. I like her when she rocks (So What, Blow Me, Trouble e.t.c).

I'm glad that all of you liked it! After the huge success that "The Conjuring" had last year, there was no way that Warner Bros (New Line) would be confined to only one movie. So, the producers released "Annabelle" this year in which there was a reference at the start of "The Conjuring". Basically, it is considered the prequel to "The Conjuring" and I guess that the producers would have guaranteed its success at the cinema. The well-edited official trailer tempt the viewers to go watch it in the cinema halls. Moreover, a few horror films were released in the last few years and horror fans are always looking forward to watch a potentially good scary movie. "Annabelle" was exactly as I expected it to be. Of course, I was sure that it would be better than dreadful "Paranormal Activity" and miserable "Insidious Chapter 2". It had several frightening scenes especially in the last 45 minutes and the exciting plot kept our interest till the end. It contained some interesting shots and there was a sultry silence during the evolution. John R. Leonetti has directed a few films so far, but he has an extensive experience on the cinematography of many horror movies. He started with the "Childs Play 3" in 1991 and he has prolonged his list of movie hits like "The Conjuring" and two "Insidious" movies in recent years. Although, his two previous directorial jobs were for the Dvd market, I think the success of "Annabelle" will highlight him as a director. Definitely, they would recommend him to direct another similar film. The script had some excesses, but what would you expect from a horror movie. I liked the fact that the two protagonists were not known to the general public because it did seem more realistic than watching two famous star of Hollywood. The performances of the two actors were decent without too much hysteria and melodrama. Only at appropriate moments was it very emotional and it was of course to a certain extent. The photography was quite good and the sound effects used to make the whole atmosphere of the film. I didn't spot anything negative in "Annabelle" which it would be noteworthy but I noticed something that I have seen many times over the years as I have gone to the movies. The viewers of these movies are the most unacceptable. Expect giggles, chewing loudly, talking to each other and large groups like going to court, it seems that there are not fans of this genre. I feel like someone made them watch these movies. Maybe, it the faults of the low ticket price that has accumulated all the silly young people in cinemas since movies cost cheaper than a cofee in a trendy area of my city. However, I find it tragic to go the movies and do not respect their neighbour sitting next to them. If you want to have fun, sit with your friends at home and say that nonsense in your head. It will be for the best of all of us. "Annabelle" is already a very successful film at the Box Office. With a very low budget ($6.500.000), it has collected about $80 million in the US alone. With total worldwide revenues exceeding $200 million, it is regarded as one of the most profitable films of the year although it received the worst reviews. It also has a fairly low score on IMDb which I do not consider representative. We have seen much worse horror films of the 70s and 80s that are considered cult by a number of people that have crippled "Annabelle". So, when a movie intrigues your interest, it would be the best to judge it entirely by yourself and not be influenced by the sourness of each.
  8. "Single Ladies" is already out...?? Unacceptable. Close this poll immediately! :P I voted ***Flawless (feat. Nicki Minaj) again!

"Dracula Untold" is a fantasy adventure film based on one of the most famous characters in literature and film. It is not based on the story of Dracula as everyone know through the novel of Irish Bram Stoker but the two screenwriters (Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless) create their own version and their imagination passed all sensible limits. This is not bad since we have seen many times in cinema and on television the classic story of Dracula so it did not need another remake. However, the big studio productions tend to reproduce the same characters but with different stories in recent years, always following the easy route. This is how it is with the samples in music. Nevertheless, the movie theater was full of mostly young fans, and only the first two series of rows were empty which indicates that the Dracula stories are appealing in the new generations. "Dracula Untold" was a little better than I expected. Do not imagine that I had high expectations about it. On the contrary, I expected that it would be tragic. However, its plot was interesting and the short length (92 minutes) was suitable as to not lose control and end up being a parody. It had some impressive visual effects although most graphics reminded me of that we encounter in videogames. I was convinced that I would see effects similar to those of "Van Helsing" but fortunately it didn't happen to that extent. Gary Shore having under his belt just a short film, considered a novice in cinema although Universal Pictures has entrusted him the "Dracula Untold" project. He did not fare too badly in his debut film, but I think that a more experienced director would have done a better job. Luke Evans was quite convincing in his role but most performances were quite lukewarm and became even worse in the parts which there was emotion between the characters. The script contained some historical references (janissaries etc.), showing the Turks as very bad and vicious, and I guess that in Turkey, people felt offended by it. As far as I remember the historical events during the 15th century, the Turks did not differ at all from the way they were showed by two screenwriters and director since many European countries suffered enough from them. However, I do not think this film is aimed at propaganda. As for the other elements of the film, the sets were elaborate and the photography was magnificent after the shooting took place in the beautiful green landscapes of Northern Ireland. "Dracula Untold" has been a decent performance in most countries that showed worldwide. It did not fare well at the Box Office since Americans are rarely touched by heroes and monsters from Europe. They are usually interested in stories that are more correlated with their own urban legends. However, in other countries, it fared better and it has surpassed the money spent in the budget although received very negative reviews by critics. Personally, I do not think it was a bad movie but its quality was something between television and film production. It had better specifications than a television series, but worse than a movie (because performances, some visual effects etc.). However, it is viewed pleasantly and it's quite different from the other Dracula stories we've seen at times.
  10. This is a tough one. I love all of them but I voted "Please Don't Leave Me".
  11. "Adua e le compagne" is an Italian film by Antonio Pietrangeli. It came out in cinemas in 1960! Although the content was ahead of its time, the director did not exceed the limits (contained no nudity) and he made a film that everyone could see it. I don't tend to see older movies especially when so many new films come out at the cinema. However, I thought that it would be a good film choice in the nearby neighborhood cinema and I was not wrong after seeing "Adua e le campagne". It is one of the most enjoyable films I watched this year! The film is based on the joint decision of four prostitutes, to start a restaurant in the countryside after the forced closure of their brothel because of new laws. Although money can be made in the countryside, they have to leave their decision after facing difficulties because they don't have the correct permit papers. So, they are forced to put someone known for their guarantor (a bast*rd with a suit) and things begin to be complicated. I found the direction quite good, although the fact that it was made as a black-white film, I gave emphasis to other film elements. The performances were very good and the dialogue was clever, comedic and cynic too. I had a long time to watch a movie with both sympathetic female characters without shouting and making as hysteric as it happens in Greek movies and series. Sure there were outbursts as here - because hysteria is an integral part of a woman - but it was to a certain degree. The evolution of the plot caused you to laugh but I would say that it was quite touching in some parts too. The female characters were the ones that literally stole the show especially Simone Signoret. This was also the first time that I saw Marcelo Mastroioanni on the big screen. Antonio Pietrangeli did not just direct the film but he wrote the script together with Ruggero Maccari, Ettore Scola and Tullio Pinelli. Pietrangeli died at 49 years, drowning, having a few films under his belt. He started as a film critic at various Italian magazines, continued as a scriptwriter and at his 34 years he began directing. However, he left his mark on European cinema and won some prestigious awards at various film festivals. "Adua e le compagne" is a very enjoyable movie, with likeable characters and well-written script. It may not be one of the most famous black and white films, but definitely worth to watch it. It has a small number of people who reviewed it in IMDb, however, the average score which received is quite good, a 7.4. The greatest recognition was the nomination for the "Golden Lion" at the Venice Film Festival! It seems to me that black and white movies will become my new love.. Unfortunately, there isn't an official trailer for this movie on youtube. SIgLxSxrhm4
  12. ***Flawless (feat. Nicki Minaj) is very bad. "Single Ladies" is one of her best songs. Iconic!
  13. "23" without a second thought..
  14. Yeah! Piece of Me" is out! I love all these singles but I will vote "Gimme More" because it's quite repetitive.
  15. Total Points : 12 Jennifer Lopez http://www2.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Jennifer%20Lopez%2053rd%20Annual%20GRAMMY%20Awards%20Arrivals%20jHKCqwQYU7Pl.jpg I'm sure that everone knows Jennifer Lopez in Buzzjack. She is also one of the most sexy women ever! I like her as a singer but I wouldn't say the same for her acting. She is not very bad but she is not great either. Her films are not great too. Jennifer was born in the Castle Hill neighborhood of The Bronx, New York City to Puerto Rican parents. At the age of five, Lopez began taking singing and dancing lessons. Lopez spent her entire academic career in Catholic schools, finishing at Preston High School. Her debut film was in "My Little Girl" but her first significant role was in "Selena" eleven years later. The film was a commercial and critical success. Later that year, Lopez starred in the film "Anaconda", which garnered negative reviews by critics despite being a box office success. She became the first Latina actress to earn over $1 million for a role the following year, with the film "Out of Sight". She ventured into the music industry in 1999 with her debut studio album, "On the 6", joining a select few in successfully converting from a film to a music career. With the simultaneous release of her second studio album "J.Lo" and her film "The Wedding Planner" in 2001, Lopez became the first person to have a number one album and film in the same week. In 2003 and 2004 she starred alongside then-boyfriend Ben Affleck in the films "Gigli" and "Jersey Girl". Critics wrote negatively for both films, and Gigli is considered one of the worst films of all time. With past record sales of 75 million and a cumulative film gross of over $2 billion, Lopez is regarded as the most influential Hispanic performer in the United States, as well as its highest paid Latin entertainer. Two members had her name on their lists. I have watched many of her movies although I'm not her biggest fan : Jack (Nice Movie), Blood and Wine (I liked it but I need to watch it again), Anaconda (Entertaining movie but it was terrible in some parts), U-Turn (I don't remember many things about this movie, it wasn't bad though), Out of Sight (Exciting plot, one of her best films), The Cell (Intriguing plot, scary and disgusting in some parts), The Wedding Planner (Enjoyable but not great), Angel Eyes (sensitive movie but it was a little bit boring), Enough (it was not very bad but it was very predictable), Maid in Manhattan (Hollywood Allert!), Gigli (I didn't hate it so much as critics), Jersey Girl (She has a minor role but it was a nice movie), Shall We Dance? (Entertaining movie and the perfromances were charismatc), Monster-in-Law (Quite funny but I expected it to be better than it was), An Unfinished Life (One of her best films, sensitive story) and The Back-up Plan (Moronic). I would suggest you to watch "Out of Sight" because she had a great chemistry with Clooney, "The Cell" because it's one of her most unique movies in her filmography, "Shall We Dance? because you will enjoy it a lot and "An Unfinished Life" because it's her most decent film in her career".
  16. Total Points : 12 Jodie Foster http://medias.unifrance.org/medias/45/7/67373/format_page/jodie-foster.jpg Jodie Foster is an amazing artist! She was one of my favourite actresses when I was child. I still love her though. She is an American actress, film director, and producer. She was born in Los Angeles. Foster attended a French-language prep school, the "Lycée français de Los Angeles", and graduated in 1980. She frequently stayed and worked in France as a teenager, and speaks French fluently. Due to her French fluency, Foster has dubbed herself in French-language versions of most of her films. She began her career at age three as a Coppertone girl in a television commercial and debuted as a television actress in a 1968 episode of "Mayberry R.F.D". She was managed by her mother. Her debut film was "Napoleon and Samantha" in 1972 but her first significant role was as Iris "Easy" Steensma in "Taxi Driver (1976) for which she received a nomination for the Academy Award for "Best Supporting Actress". She won an Academy Award for "Best Actress" for her role in "The Accused". In 1991, she starred in "The Silence of the Lambs" as Clarice Starling for which she received her second Academy Award for "Best Actress". Her performance received international acclaim and everybody praised her for her acting. She received her third "Best Actress" Academy Award nomination for her role in Nell (1994). She made her directorial debut in 1991 with "Little Man Tate". She also directed the films "Home for the Holidays" (1995) and "The Beaver" (2011). In addition to her two Academy Awards, she has won three BAFTA Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, the Cecil B DeMille Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Foster acknowledged coming out in a speech at the 70th Golden Globe Awards. Foster broke up with her long-time partner, movie producer Cydney Bernard, in 2008. They had been together since 1993 In April 2014, Foster married actress and photographer Alexandra Hedison. Three members voted for her and one of them was me. I have watched some of her movie so far : The Hotel New Hampshire (Intriguing characters but the story was very weird), The Accused (riveting plot, one of the best movies that year), The Silence of the Lambs (Masterpiece), Panic Room (It was quite disappointing), A Very Long Engagement (She has a minor role but her movie was great), Flightplan (Good beginning with predictable ending), Inside Man (I remember that it was decent but I totally forgot it), The Brave One (One of the most underrated movies ever, she was great with this role), Nim's Island (Very childish movie but it's not bad though)and Elysium (The visual effects were great and it was a decent film overall). I'm sure that I watched some of her movies when she was a kid but I don't remember the titles. I would suggest you to watch : "The Accused" because her performance was very good and it has an intriguing script (it's based on a true story), "The Silence of the Lambs" because it's one of the movies that defined 90's, "A Very Long Engagement" because it had a great cinematography and the performances were very good, "The Brave One" because it's one of her best roles and the plot was exciting and "Elysium" because it was one of the best sci-fi action films last year.
  17. "Living is Easy with Eyes Closed"("Vivir es fácil con los ojos cerrados") is a Spanish film that combines comedy and drama in the correct doses. It was nominated in seven categories at the Goya Awards (The Spanish Oscar) and it won 6 of them (Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best New Actor, Best Original Screenplay and Best Original Score). The film stood out in other local film festivals and it is the formal proposal of Spain for "Best Foreign Language Film" in the upcoming Oscars. I didn't intend to watch it because I didn't know about these distinctions. However, a nice price at the nearby neighborhood cinema and the enigmatic title persuaded me to go watch it. "Living is Easy with Eyes Closed" is based on the love and the admiration of a teacher for the music and lyrics of the Beatles. On the occasion of making a film of John Lennon in Spanish territories, the main character finds an excuse to travel by car and go to meet him. On his course, he will find a young girl and a young boy (not at the same time) that do hitchhiking and end up together in the area in which John Lennon is shooting "How I Won the War". The two young people shared the anguish of the protagonist to achieve its purpose while the latter will empathize with the concerns and problems faced by the first two. As a story, it has a romantic naivety and the psychological wellbeing of the main character reminds us of a teenager rather than a mature adult. The story has a pleasant plot, viewed lightly and the dialogues are well written. The performances of the actors are quite good and Javier Cámara (Talk To Her) is convincing as a die hard fan of the Beatles. The director of the film is David Trueba, who also wrote the screenplay. I guess that he is a big fan of the "Beatles" to inspire this particular story. The photography was good and some shots reminded me of Greece. As for the soundtrack of the film, we heard the Beatles tunes in which I regard them top of their kind since they influenced the music of many modern bands. In the negatives, I would put the quality of the picture because it reminded me of anything from the 60's. It looked like it had been shot in the last decades and the actors simply wore old-fashioned clothes. Unfortunately, it didn't persuade me in this part and I feel that this somehow lost the pulse of the time. "Living is Easy with Eyes Closed" is a light-hearted film with sympathetic performances and delightful story. It is suitable for all ages and I think that fans of the Beatles will identify with the main character (Antonio). It is one of those films that you enjoy on Sunday afternoons on TV and avoid all those terrible shows with cooking. Nevertheless, I couldn't help but wonder how this movie won so many awards. On the other hand, it is the main entry as the official film for Spain at the upcoming Oscars. Having seen several European productions at times, "Living is Easy with Eyes Closed" is not from those movies which steal the show and I guess there wouldn't be a lot of competition among the year's Spanish films to be selected as this. uO1jXG38XbM
  18. "About You Now" is one of the best pop songs ever! I voted "Overload" again.
  19. All her songs are 10/10 apart from "Waking Up In Vegas". That's why it's one of her least successful songs. The videoclip is great though.
  20. "Single Ladies" is one of her best songs! I can't believe that people voted for it. "Until The End of Time" is quite bad.

"Gone Girl" is definitely one of the most hyped films of the year! It's based on the novel of the same name of Gillian Flynn who also wrote the screenplay of the film. "Gone Girl" was the opening film of the 52nd New York Film Festival and received very positive reviews. The extremely well made official trailer, which was created for the promotion of the film in cinemas, on television and the Internet, persuades the viewers to go watch this movie whether they have read the book or not. It has already screened in my country's theaters for a fourth week with great success. "Gone Girl" is based on the disappearance of a young woman on the day of the 5th anniversary of her marriage. Her husband is considered as the main suspect for being relaxed and calm after the unfortunate incident. I can tell that "Gone Girl" was exciting until the first half of the film (the cinema hall had an intermission). There was a great deal of mystery about the disappearance. Ben Affleck didn't persudade us 100% if he was either innocent or guilty, and the plot kept our interest every minute. From the second half and then, things were revealed immediately and the story became literally a bit of a stretch. David Fincher is the director of the film and we are used to disappoint from him at the end of his films, such as The American version of "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" and "Panic Room". Although in this case it was not his fault because the book's events evolve in this way. The writer wanted him to make an exact adaptation of the story. It would have been excellent if the overall duration was less than 149 minutes, and the movie ends shortly after the second half. It was no way predictable but it was excessive and I found the end quite frustrating. With this kind of concept, the writer could make the difference but unfortunately succeeded it in a totally different way. The plot became so much more controversial than our minds could handle. The performances were very good by the two stars although Ben Affleck seem to play himself. He usually has this half asleep look. On the other hand, Rosamunde Pike was incredible with her role and reached the top of her career with this film. Apart from "Pride and Prejudice", I had seen her participate in mediocre films such as "An Education", "Surrogates" and "Wrath of the Titans". However, the character potrayed in "Gone Girl" as Amy Elliott-Dunne is one of the most intriguing roles for this year. As for the supporting roles, they were just there for me. Nothing special can be said or written about them. On the positive side of the film was also the well prepared photography and the atmospheric music. Trent Raznor with Atticus Ross collaborated for the third time to undertake the music of the film work of Fincher. Something tells me that they will be nominated again on the upcoming Oscar. "Gone Girl" is already a commercial success at the Box Office. It overcame the barrier of $100 million and it will do even better now that the Oscar nominations have happened. With such hype created, I'm sure that it will have multiple nominations on the upcoming Oscar. It's adored by critics and already much discussed by fans who watched it. It has received a very high average score on IMDb (8,5) and it's already included in the list of 100 best movies of all time. Personally, I wouldn't give such a high average score because I didn't like the second part of the film. Nevertheless, it was a well structured work and I wouldn't be impressed if this movie won all the categories it is nominated for. However, it doesn't deserve to win in the "Best Picture" category this year. Although some people (critics and fans of the movie) try to convince us of the opposite.
  22. I want "Like I Love You" to win! "Cry Me A River" is overrated.
  23. Ready Set Don't Go
  24. "Funhouse" is my least favourite of them.
