ROUND 30: LEAST FAVORITE BRITNEY SINGLE
"Hold It Against Me" is much better than "Piece Of Me"!

Before I Go to Sleep
"Before I Go To Sleep" is a psychological thriller in which two Oscar winning actors star in. Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth are two of the best actors of their generation and they have a very significant filmography so far. In "Before I Go To Sleep", they both collaborated for the second time in a very short period of time upon request by Nicole Kidman. Their first work was "The Railway Man" which was released earlier this year in the UK and in the middle of summer in my country. "Before I Go To Sleep" is based on the novel by S.J Watson and Ridley Scott was the one who bought the rights to the film's adaptation. I've always been a big fan of mystery thriller so there was no way not to like this film. It reminded me of the good old times of the 90's that psychological thriller had literally impact on the viewers. Do not think it is a masterpiece, but it's quite different than the other movies I've watched this year. Ridley Scott trusted Rowan Joffé to undertake the directing and the screenplay of the film and finally his choice proved correct. Joffé created a really good atmosphere and the plot kept our interest throughout the duration of film. The photography was quite good and the montage was properly edited to the most important scenes. Of course, there were some gaps in the script that could have been avoided because the movie was based on the book. However, they preferred to keep the mystery from beginning to end without considering the viewers' questions. It didn't have a bad effect on me but my friends wanted all the answers when the movie finished. The performances were very good by the two actors (Nicole Kidman was brilliant) and the penultimate scene reminded us of the old good cinematic moments. The only negative thing I can complain was the last scene. It reminded me a Greek reality programme (The Package). It was so lachrymose and full of cliches (although it hadn't an impact on me) that only the presenter of this reality show was missing to complete the whole sentimental plan. "Before I Go To Sleep" is not one of the movies which brought many people to the cinema. Unfortunately, times have changed and only adventure, science fiction and comedies have the biggest earnings. Nevertheless, psychological thrillers have their own fanbase and they always have many rentals in dvd stores (those remaining). I wouldn't say that it was one of the best films of the year but it certainly worth watching it. I believe that the total score on IMDb is not representative at all and I feel that the voters were very strict and challenging with the movie. tQdnOYpyBCo

Relatos Salvajes/Wild Tales
"Relatos Salvajes" is a Spanish-Argentinean co-production which was originally screened as the first movie of the "Athens International Film Festival – Opening Nights". However, the distribution company didn't choose it only for the festival and "Relatos Salvajes" premiered three weeks ago, in selected cinemas in my country. The film was screened in the main part of the Cannes Film Festival, competing for the Palme d'Or. Although it was not the big winner, it received very good reviews by the critics and the viewers. It is the official entry for Argentina on the upcoming Oscars in the category "Best Foreign Language Film". "Relatos Salvajes" consists of six short stories which appear one after the other. The characters and the stories are not related to each other but they all have one thing in common which is revenge. Damián Szifrón is not only the director of the film but also the screenwriter. He isn't very popular because he hasn't produced a globally recognizable film under his belt. However, I think "Relatos Salvajes" will help him a lot in popularity. He had also the financial support of Pedro Almodovar and his younger brother Agustin Almodovar who they involved as producers on the film. It is one of the few good black comedies I have seen in recent years. I liked all the stories because they were very intriguing and the dialogues were well written, accurate and cynical. It contained tragicomic situations that caused us to laugh several times during the plot. The direction was very good because Szifrón created the right atmosphere depending on the story. The performances were pretty good and the characters were simple and ordinary with some exaggerating doses in some parts. The photography was very good. It has elaborate montage and the music was composed by the famous Gustavo Santaolalla (The Motorcycle Diaries, Brokeback Mountain, Babel etc). "Relatos Salvajes" is one of the pleasant surprises this year. It's very different than many of the other movies I've seen so far and it was interesting from the beginning till the end. It could be one of the dominant entries for the Oscar because of the imaginative script and the peculiarity of its structure. It was very successful in the Argentinian Box Office, getting a lot of people into the cinema. It has received a very high rating on IMDb (8,4), which shows that people who watched it, already loved it. I highly recommend it. QUnXv6R2HI8

Least Fave Beyonce Single: Round 2
"Video Phone" is not bad. It's evil. Some of her songs are really bad. Luckily, they were not successful. One of them is "***Flawless (feat. Nicki Minaj)".

'Boyhood' | July 2014
"Boyhood" is one of the most hyped up movies this year. Many cinefiles already believe that it'll be one of the big winners of the upcoming Oscar awards. The fact that it was filmed for 12 years is something that made it a pioneer in cinema. It's based on maturity of the main character, starting at the age 5 and ending at 19. It's a very difficult project because the actors and the director had to meet every year to shot the scenes. And that was a big risk for the creator because there was a chance that one of the actors could have died and his plan would have gone down the drain. Eventually everything went very well and "Boyhood" opened in a limited release in North America last July. The instigator of this concept was the director/screenwriter Richard Linklater. The IFC Films, which always support independently financed films and documentaries, agreed to cooperate with him. The directing was quite good although I think the script was even better. I liked almost all the dialogues of the film because it was well-written, intelligent and instructive. The fact that while the story went on, popular songs from each time played, which made it a very smart move because we understood what year progressed everything. The performances were pretty good by everyone although both siblings were seemed quite dull, awkward and boring in the last half hour of the film. Maybe the director/writer wanted their two main characters performing like that, but how many young people are seen so hypnotising? However, their acting was nice (especially Ellar Coltrane) and their parents (Ethan Hawke-Patricia Arquette) did it even better. It had good photography and the editing team did a very good job because there were plenty of material and they were able to make the best choices from them. The soundtrack was amazing and the song which played on the official trailer and the last scene of the movie (Family Of The Year - Hero) will always remind me this story as a sweet memory. Although it is 165 minutes, it didn't tire us because the plot was maintained at the same good level throughout the duration. Maybe, it was a little bit sluggish in the end of the film due to the temperamental and the psychological wellbeing of the main character but that of course does not affect in any way the overall value! The film was first officially recognized at the Sundance Film Festival which received very positive reviews. Also, it competed in the main competition at the Berlin Film Festival and Linklater won the Silver Bear Award for "Best Director"! It was also screened in other film festivals and everyone said very good words about it. However, it was not just a film that critics totally praised but it was already loved by the viewers who watched it as it has received one of the highest average scores on IMDb so far (8,7). I guess that many people gave 10 to it! It 's already in the list of the 50 best films of all time according to users of IMDb and this is the best advertising. It's a very beautiful story that has an amazing journey and you will share the aging process and teenage worries of a very sympathetic character.

Total Points : 11 Susan Sarandon http://midlife-eletkozep.postr.hu/files/fotok/susan_sarandon_02.jpg Susan Sarandon is an amazing actress!!! I guess that everyone knows her because she has played in many movies. Her real name is Susan Abigail Tomalin. She is the first of nine children born to Lenora Marie and Phillip Leslie Tomalin. Her father was of English, Irish, and Welsh ancestry and her mother is of Italian descent. Sarandon was raised Roman Catholic and attended Roman Catholic schools. She is now lapsed as an adult. She graduated from Edison High School in 1964. She then attended The Catholic University of America, from 1964 to 1968. While in college, she met fellow student Chris Sarandon and the couple married on September 16, 1967. They divorced in 1979, but she retained the surname Sarandon as her stage name. Her debut film was in "Joe" fourty-four years ago! However, her first successful role was in "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". She has received five Academy Award nominations for Best Actress, for "Atlantic City" (1980), "Thelma & Louise" (1991), "Lorenzo's Oil" (1992), "The Client" (1994) and "Dead Man Walking" (1995). Finally, she won the Academy Award for "Best Actress" for her performance in the 1995 film "Dead Man Walking" and a BAFTA Award for "Best Actress" for the 1994 film "The Client". She is also known for her social and political activism for a variety of liberal causes. She was appointed a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 1999 and received the Action Against Hunger Humanitarian Award in 2006. Sarandon had also many relationships during her career. She had a relationship with musician David Bowie around the time they worked together on the film The Hunger (1983), which she describes as "a really interesting period. In the mid-1980s, Sarandon dated Franco Amurri, and she gave birth to their daughter, actress Eva Amurri in 1985. From 1988 to 2009 Sarandon was in a relationship with Tim Robbins, whom she met while they were filming "Bull Durham". They have two sons. Two members had her name on their lists. One of them gave his 10! I have some of her movies so far but I need to watch her first films : Bull Durham (Her character was funny but the movie was a bit silly, only for the fans of baseball), Thelma & Louise (One of her best roles, the ending is memorable), Cats & Dogs (She gave her voice, it was very funny), The Banger Sisters (Two great leading actress but the script was childish), Moonlight Mile (I remember that it was a decent movie but I don't remember anything from the plot), Shall We Dance (Pleasant movie about dancing), Alfie (Terrible movie, waste of time), Elizabethtown (boring and dull but it was not very bad though), In the Valley of Elah (Interesting script with nice performances), The Lovely Bones (Great movie), Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (I didn't like this movie and Shia LaBeouf and Carey Mulligan were so f*ckin cocky), That's My Boy (dreadful, who wrote this script??????, I guess that Susan Sarandon was drunk before she played in this movie), Arbitrage (The script was intriguing and it had exciting plot) and Cloud Atlas (One of the most underrated movies ever!). I would suggest you to watch "Thelma & Louise" because it's one of the movies that defined 90's, "In the Valley of Elah" because it has an intriguing script, "The Lovely Bones" because it was a great adaptation and the performances were great, "Arbitrage" because it was one of the most underrated films in 2012 and "Cloud Atlas" because the visual and sound effects, the performances, the photography, the make-up and the soundtrack deserve 10/10 for me!

Total Points : 11 Kate Hudson http://wac.450f.edgecastcdn.net/80450F/popcrush.com/files/2014/03/KateHudsonJM.jpg One of the most sexy actresses of her generation! I feel that Kate Hudson is in the same league with Jennifer Aniston. They are not brilliant actresses but they are always likeable and decent with their roles (with a few exceptions). She is the daughter of Academy Award–winning actress Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson. Unfortunately, her famous parents divorced eighteen months after her birth. She and her brother, Oliver Hudson, were raised in California, by her mother and her mother's long-time boyfriend, Kurt Russell. She stated that her biological father "doesn't know me from a hole in the wall", and that she considers Russell to be her father. I always thought that her real father was Kurt Russell although her surname is Hudson. Her debut film was in "Desert Blue" sixteen years ago! However, her first successful role was in "Almost Famous" (2000). She played a groupie. She won the Golden Globe Award for "Best Supporting Actress" and was nominated for an Academy Award for "Best Supporting Actress". Nevertheless, her movies are so hit or miss. She has also played a recurring role on the musical comedy-drama television series Glee as Cassandra July and the reaction from the viewers was very positive. It seems that her role in "Almost Famous" had an effect on her relationships too. She married Chris Robinson, the frontman for "The Black Crowes" fourteen years ago. In 2006, Hudson's publicist announced that Hudson and Robinson had separated. They have one child together, a son, born in 2004. In 2010, Hudson began dating "Muse" frontman Matthew Bellamy. Hudson and Bellamy became engaged in April 2011 and have a son born in July 2011. I really didn't know this. This rate is so enlightning..:P Two members like this woman!! I have watched many of her movies although I'm not her biggest fan here : Dr. T & the Women (Forgettable), Almost Famous (Very good movie, nice performances), Gossip (The plot was original and exciting, one of my favourite teenage films), The Four Feathers (Nice war movie, very sentimental story), Le Divorce (french fries are better), Alex & Emma (Silly movie), How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (funny story, she had a great chemistry with Matthew McConaughey), Raising Helen (sensitive movie and funny in some parts but not a great movie), The Skeleton Key (One of the most underwhelming films that I've ever watched in cinema), You, Me and Dupree (quite funny but I don't remember many scenes about it), Fool's Gold (She and Matthew McConaughey played in this film only for money), Bride Wars (I thought that it would be funny but it was very disappointing) and Nine (Her part was one of the best in this musical). I would suggest you to watch "Almost Famous" because it was one of the most critically acclaimed movies that year and I'm sure that rock fans will love it, "Gossip" because it has an intriguing script with an unpredictable ending, "The Four Feathers" because it's a decent romantic movie, "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" because it's one of the best choices for the first date and "Nine" because her part was amazing and it's worth a watch.

Total Points : 11 Tina Fey http://www.womenwhochangedamerica.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/womanwhochangedamerica-tina-fey.1.jpg Tina Fey is one of the funniest personalities in Hollywood. She hasn't played in many movies so far but she is very popular for her work on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live (1998–2006) and the critically acclaimed NBC comedy series 30 Rock (2006–13). Her mother is of Greek descent and her father is of half German and half Scottish descent. She first broke into comedy as a featured player in the Chicago-based improvisational comedy group "The Second City". She then joined Saturday Night Live as a writer, later becoming head writer and a performer, known for her position as co-anchor in the Weekend Update segment. I guess that Buzzjackers totally love her because she wrote the screenplay for "Mean Girls" (2004). It was her first successful role in cinema. After leaving Saturday Night Live in 2006, she created the television series 30 Rock, a situation comedy loosely based on her experiences at Saturday Night Live. She also starred in the comedy film Baby Mama, alongside former SNL co-star Amy Poehler two years later. Fey has received eight Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, five Screen Actors Guild Awards, four Writers Guild of America Awards and has been nominated for a Grammy Award for her autobiographical book "Bossypants", which topped the The New York Times Best Seller list for five weeks. Three members had her name on their lists! I have only watched two of her films. Though, her filmography is short : Mean Girls (The Ultimate Buzzjack Obsession) and Date Night (Hilarious). I would suggest you to watch both of them because they have many funny scenes and you will really enjoy them.

Total Points : 10 Julie Walters http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/07/15/article-1199617-05641DFF000005DC-535_468x813.jpg I haven't watched many of her movies but I still remember that she was stunning in "Billy Elliot". I feel that she was totally robbed by Marcia Gay Harden that year (2000) although I haven't watched "Pollock" yet. Julie Walters is an English actress and writer. Her first job was in insurance at the age of 15. She trained as a nurse at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Birmingham) when she was 18 years old. However, she decided to leave nursing and studied English and drama at Manchester Polytechnic (now Manchester Metropolitan University). Her debut film was her role as Susan "Rita" White in "Educating Rita" (1983). That was a great beginning for her! She earned an Academy Award nomination for "Best Actress". She also won her first BAFTA and a Golden Globe! Seventeen years later, she received a second Academy Award nomination, this time for "Best Supporting Actress", for her role in Billy Elliot, which also won her a BAFTA. Everybody praised her that era and "Billy Elliot" was one of the most critically acclaimed films that year (2000). Her participation in seven of the eight Harry Potter films (2001–2011) as Mrs. Weasley was one of her most successful role! She has won eight BAFTAs, six competitive awards plus two honorary awards. The first honorary award was a special BAFTA that she received at a tribute evening in 2003, before receiving the BAFTA Fellowship in 2014. She came fourth in ITV's poll of the public's 50 Greatest TV stars in Britain eight years ago! It seems that British totally appreciate her talent and AaronTM is her ultimate fan here! I have watched a few of her movies so far : Billy Elliot (Great film, the performances were brilliant), Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (I loved the beginning), Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (The most dark part of the series), Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Mamma Mia! (One of my favourite musicals ever) Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 (The ending was great and I'm sure that everone would feel empty after this), and Brave (Basically, she gave her voice but the animation was disappointed). I would suggest you to watch "Billy Elliott" because it's one of the best stories to teach you that everything you imagine could come true, Harry Potter Films (I'm sure that everone has already watched them) and "Mama Mia! because the performances were charismatic and the story was very funny.

*1 I forgot this movie and it was one of my favourite movies of my childhood!!! Great concept and I really want to watch it again. The Greek title was "The Hawke and The Wolf" that's why I didn't notice it when I checked her filmography. Surely, it's one of the most clever romantic stories. http://www.jeancocteaucinema.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Ladyhawke-1985-movie-poster.jpg *2 The popularity of the soundtrack totally saved it. Celine was massive that era!

Total Points : 10 Michelle Pfeiffer http://stylenoted.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/226939268693288395_zPsQn4Do_c.jpg This woman always shines. Michelle Pfeiffer is very talented. My generation grew up with her movies. She is an American actress and singer. She was born in Santa Ana, California. Her debut film was in in "The Hollywood Knights" (1980). However, her first successful role was in "Scarface" three years later. She has many successful movies in her career (Batman Returns, Dangerous Minds, Up Close & Personal, What Lies Beneath etc) She has received three Academy Award nominations to date: Best Supporting Actress for "Dangerous Liaisons" (1988), and Best Actress in "The Fabulous Baker Boys" (1989) and "Love Field" (1992). She has two children. Pfeiffer has stated that her lack of acting throughout the 2000s was due to her children, and now with both her children away at college, she intends to 'work a lot (We miss her). She has commented that she feels that her best performance is 'still in her,' and that she thinks that's what keeps her going. Acidburn loves this woman and he is her ultimate fan in Buzzjack! I have watched some of her films : Batman Returns (She is the best catwoman ever!), Wolf (Nice movie but I have to watch it again), Dangerous Minds (One of my favourite movies in 90s!), One Fine Day (Pleasant movie), The Story of Us (boring and dull), What Lies Beneath (Quite scary in some parts, intriguing script), I Am Sam (Emotional movie with great performances), White Oleander (One of my favourite movies that year, great cast), Stardust (I really enjoyed this with my first love) and Dark Shadows (funny movie). I would suggest you to watch "Batman Returns" because it was an amazing movie and Michelle was stunning as Catwoman, 'Dangerous Minds" because it's one of the movies that defined 90s, "What Lies Beneath" because it had a great atmosphere and the plot holds your interest, "I Am Sam" because it was one of the most crititcally acclaimed movies that year, "White Oleander" because the story was powerful and the performances were great, "Stardust" because it was very entertaining fantasy film and "Dark Shadows" because you will enjoy it a lot.

Total Points : 10 Lindsay Lohan http://cdn.mamamia.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/lindsay-lohan-picture-06864.jpg She used to be the swettest girl but she has changed so much. I liked her first movies and I liked her two albums although "A Little More Personal " is better than "Speak". The latter had better singles. Lindsay Lohan is an American actress, model and recording artist. She was born in New York City. Both of her parents are of Irish and Italian descent. Her debut film was in "Parent Trap" when she was 12 years old. It was a critical and commercial hit. She also played in many successful films and teenagers totally loved her (of course, there were haters too). However, the peak of her career was her leading role in "Mean Girls" (2004). Lohan became a household name and a frequent focus of paparazzi and tabloids. She released her debut album "Speak" in 2004. It was certified platinum although it hadn't a big hit. In 2005, she released her second album "A Little More Personal". It was certified gold but it failed to have a big hit too. Lohan starred in Disney's "Herbie: Fully Loaded" the same year. Between 2010 and 2013, she went into rehabilitation three times, and spent much of her time entangled in legal problems stemming from misdemeanors and probation violations. AlexRanger is her best fan here (I guess that he likes her music too). I have watched some of her movies so far : The Parent Trap (Enjoyable movie), Freaky Friday (very funny movie), Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (silly script), Mean Girls (funny dialogues and characters), Herbie: Fully Loaded (entertaining but the original film was better than it), Just My Luck (funny movie but a little bit silly in some parts), Machete (Machete is icon, hilarious movie) and Scary Movie 5 (funny in some parts but it was the worst film of the series). I would suggest you to watch "Parent Trap" because it's a nice movie. "Freaky Friday" because Lindsay and Jamie Lee Curtins were great together, "Mean Girls" but I'm sure that everone have watched it in Buzzjack and "Machete" because the dialogues were funny and the characters were hilarious!
