'Guardians Of the Galaxy'
"Guardians of the Galaxy" is based on the Marvel Universe. It is the tenth adaptation superhero comic to the big screen after many successful blockbusters (Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Avengers). I had seen the official trailer several months ago and I felt that it would be different from other superhero movies we've seen at times. Although I was so late to watch it, there was no way to miss this movie on the big screen. I aways enjoy these kinds of movies even though I have never read comics. Maybe a couple of times but I'm not sure. In hindsight, I made a wise choice, as the "Guardians of the Galaxy" offers plenty of laughs and it's the most exciting movie I've seen this year (so far)!! James Gunn is the director and did a great job as "Guardians of the Galaxy" had impressive visual effects and the vibrant colors literally opened the eyes (especially shots containing galaxies). Apart from the visual part of the film, Gunn wrote the script with Nicole Perlman. It is the first time that Marvel trust the script to a woman. However, she had a very good cooperation with James Gunn and we realised this from the amazing result. Both of them having been born in the decade of the 70s, they really wanted to accompany the story with sounds of musicians and bands of the 60's and 70's! They combined very apt the rock sounds with the time and space and of course, the superheroes. The film had very good sound effects and good cinematography. The dialogues were very funny and the plot was enjoyable. The fact that the total length was no more than two hours, didn't tire us at all. However, the time passed without sense it. However, the characters were those who literally stole the show and the cast consists of well known names (Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Benicio del Toro). The protagonists of the film were convincing in the roles they played, and that seems to be the most entertaining by what we saw. Chris Pratt's character was so funny and finally Disney began to trust the leading roles to actors we don't see very often on the big screen. On the other hand, Zoe Saldana, maybe is one of the most successful actress of her generation because she already has been involved in some of the biggest blockbuster of our times (Avatar, Star Trek, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl). It is interesting to think that she played Britney's best friend in “Crossroads”. What a shame. "Guardians of the Galaxy" is by far the most commercial movie at the Box Office for this year (so far)! It is the only movie that has exceeded $300 million in revenue! It has a total of $645 million worldwide, generating nearly quadruple earnings considering the budget !!! It has received a very high average on IMDb (8,6). This means that the people who watched it, loved it very much. Personally I'd give it a higher score, since I found it incredibly entertaining. I liked all the characters and I very much appreciated the fact that it emphasized the value of friendship..

Deliver Us from Evil
"Deliver Us from Evil" is an American horror movie that came out in my country's cinema two weeks ago! The producers promoted this story with a very good publicity stunt (very common in recent years). The official trailer informed us that it was inspired by the personal testimony of police officer Ralph Sarchie when performing duties in New York. During a specific time, he faced a series of unexplained phenomena which affected him so much that rediscovered his faith. His acquaintance with an "alternative priest" was decisive for the future course of his life after he resigned from the police force and focused on the demonic possession. "Deliver Us from Evil" was not great but not bad as others have estimated previously (I mean critics). It had some positive and some negative reviews. The fact that I watched it in one of the best cinema halls in my city played an important role too. It had atmospheric visual effects and scary sound effects that caused you to be afraid whenever the scene changed quickly. The action and the plot kept our interest although at times it tended to be parody and the viewers laughed a lot. Some dialogues were quite "enlightening" (especially for those who are fascinated by the unexplained) and the performances of the main actors/actresses were for the most part convincing. Eric Bana was the best choice for the lead role although production originally wanted Mark Wahlberg. He respected his character although there were some moments that the screenwriters wanted us to believe the opposite (quotes like in "Scary Movie"). Admittedly, the fact that the possessed behave more as vampire, it wasn't a good thing too. Scott Derrickson not only directed the film but also wrote the script with Paul Harris Boardman (Devil's Knot). The two had worked together before writing the script for "The Exorcism of Emily Rose", which was one of the most profitable films in 2005 (compared to budget-total earnings). The wealthy and famous producer Jerry Bruckheimer financed their new venture believing that it will have the same success. "Deliver Us from Evil" had a relatively low budget ($30.000.000) although compared to other horror films, it has a respectable amount available for its completion. I wouldn't say that it had the best possible earnings at the Box Office only after reaching the money spent on budget. However, it was released in many countries worldwide and it has received around $80.000.00. It's not one of the best horror films that I've ever watched at the cinema but it was quite scary in some parts. I'm sure that the director could have a better result if he excluded all the funny stuff and the vampire performances of the possessed. YWDM_p68HAQ

Total Points : 9 Rachel Griffiths http://wsfm.com.au/assets/473159/rachel-griffiths.jpg I didin't expect Rachel Griffiths to be in this rate but I was so glad when I saw her name here! I haven't watched many of her movies but I liked her in "Six Feet Under"! Rachel is an Australian film and television actress. Her debut film was in "Muriel's Wedding" twenty years ago. Her performance was so great and she won both the Australian Film Critics Award and the Australian Film Institute Awards for "Best Supporting Actress". "My Best Friend's Wedding" was her American film debut in 1997. She received an Academy Award nomination for "Best Supporting Actress" in "Hilary and Jackie" one year later! However, her participation in "Six Feet Under" was one the best choises of her career (2001-2005)! She earned her Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards, as well as two Emmy Award nominations! Her participation in the dramatic series "Brothers & Sisters" was very successful too (2006-2011)! She received a 2007 Emmy nomination and a 2008 Emmy nomination for her work on the series. She also received 2008 and 2009 Golden Globe nominations for her work on "Brothers & Sisters". Rachel has three children. Heezus loves this actress!! I have watched a few of her movies so far : My Best Friend's Wedding (Pleasant movie, very funny in some parts), Blow (The direction was good but I found it a little bit boring), Ned Kelly (Decent movie), Step Up (Entertaining movie) and Saving Mr. Banks (She has a small role / The movie was very good though). Plus, "Six Feet Under" : The stories were morbit but it had intriguing characters. I would suggest you to watch "My Best Friend's Wedding" because I'm sure that many of you have loved one of your best friends (Not me though), "Ned Kelly" because he was an interesting personality and "Saving Mr. Banks" because it was very good overall.

Total Points : 9 Whoopi Goldberg http://www.thisissierraleone.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/Whoopi-Goldbery-oscar-win-natural-hair-locs-alice-in-nappyland.jpg Whoopi is one of my favourite comedians ever!!! I was a big fan of hers when I was kid. I still laugh with her comedies and I think that she is very likeable personality. She is incredibly talented!! She is an American actress, singer-songwriter, political activist, author and talk show host. She was born in Manhattan. Goldberg was a very anxious personality when she was teenager. She dropped out of high school. She worked as a phone sex operator, working from home at nigh (Could you imagine this..? LMAO!). Her debut film was in "Citizen : I'm Not Losing My Mind, I'm Giving It Away" (1982) and her first successful role was in " The Color Purple" three years later. It was a critically acclaimed movie that year (1985)!!! It was nominated for 11 Academy Awards and Whoopi was nominated for "Best Actress". However, the movie was totally robbed by other films that year (Shame!)..Nevertheless, Whoopi won the Academy Award for "Best Supporting Role" as Oda Mae Brown in "Ghost" five years later (Justice!)! She was the second black woman in the history of the Academy Awards to win an acting Oscar. Goldberg has also been nominated for 13 Emmy Awards for her work in television!! She is one of the few entertainers who have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award!!! Her latest role was in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"!!! PaulM1983 loves this woman and he is her best fan here!!! I have watched some of her movies : The Color Purple (Great movie!!! Whoopi was great there), Ghost (One of the best romantic movies ever!! Great performances), Sister Act (Very funny movie, crazy concept, totally love it!), Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit (It wasn't so great as the first film but I laughed a lot), The Lion King (Great animation, Great soundtrack), Ghosts of Mississippi (Very good movie about racism), How Stella Got Her Groove Back (Forgettable story about a milf..), Girl, Interrupted (Very good script and nice perfromances) and Rat Race (Quite funny but a little bit forgettable). I'm sure that I watched more movies than I referred above but i don't remember the titles and the plot.. :P I would suggest you to watch "The Color Purple" because it's a great story and Whoopi totally deserved her nomination there, "Ghost" because it's one of the most emotional movies of 90's, "Sister Act" because it's funny as hell, "The Lion King" because it's "The Lion King", "Ghosts of Mississippi" because it has an intriguing script with great performances and "Girl, Interrupted" because the cast did an amazing work.

Total Points : 9 Drew Barrymore http://cdn01.dailycaller.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/115250320-e1310589824337.jpg Drew Barrymore is one of the most sweet American actresses! How could someone hate this woman..? Hell No! Drew Barrymore was famous as a kid and she is very successful as an adult (One of the notable exceptions). She is very talented and she is very active personality. She is not only an actress but also screenwriter, film director, producer, model and author!!! She is a granddaughter of film legend John Barrymore although she has many relatives who they were actors/actresses. She is also the god-daughter of director Steven Spielberg and Sophia Loren. Her debut film was in "Altered States" but her first notable role was in "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial". I'm sure that everyone remembers her there. She received a Golden Globe nomination as "Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture" in 1984 for her role in "Irreconcilable Differences". However, her popularity had a bad effect on her..She was in rehab at the age of fourteen because she had many bad habits as a teenager. She described this period of her life in her autobiography, Little Girl Lost (intriguing.. B-)). Her life continued to be controversial during the 90's. Steven Spielberg gave her a quilt for her twentieth birthday with a note that read, "Cover yourself up." Nevertheless, Drew focused on her career and she took part in many movies! In 2010, she was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award and the Golden Globe Award for "Best Actress in a Miniseries or Television Film" for her portrayal of Little Edie in "Grey Gardens". AlexRange loves this woman and he had her name on his list. I have watched many of her movies : E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (Great Movie, It defines the 80's!), Cat's Eye (Interesting script with suspense), Poison Ivy (failure), Batman Forever (I enjoyed it but I don't remember Drew's role..), Scream (One of my favourite horror movies, it defines the 90's), Best Men (Fortgettable), Titan A.E. (Decent animation but it failed to be successful at the Box Office), Charlie's Angels (I didin't like it, very silly movie), Freddy Got Fingered (Dreadful, Tom Green was the troll of his generation), Riding in Cars with Boys (Average movie), Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (Good performances/ interesting script/It's based on a true story), Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (I wanted to self-harm watching this..), Duplex (very funny movie, I want it to watch again), 50 First Dates (nice scirpt, funny and enjoyable movie), Fever Pitch (funny in some parts but it wasn't great overall), Music and Lyrics (Very nice movie), He's Just Not That Into You (Enlightning movie), Everybody's Fine (A nice family movie) and Blended (relaxing movie). I would suggest you to watch "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial" because everyone has to watch this movie, "Cat's Eye" because it contains three amazing stories, "Scream" because it's very scary movie and horror fans totally loved it, "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" because it has a gripping story, "Duplex" because it has a lot of hilarious scenes, "50 First Dates" because it's funny story and it's suitable for the first date, "Music and Lyrics" because Drew and Hugh Grand had great chemistry and "He's Just Not That Into You" because you will learn a lot of things about relationships. Our friends usually try to be good with us when we have problems with our relationships. A raw and real film.. :P

Total Points : 9 Christine Baranski http://www3.pictures.stylebistro.com/gi/Christine%20Baranski%20Dangle%20Earrings%20Dangling%20_7ivjL1tvwPl.jpg Oh my gosh!! I just checked many of her photos and I realised that she looks exactly the same as my grandmother :o ..Christine Baranski is an American stage and screen actress. She is of Polish descent and her grandparents were actors in the Polish theater. Her debut film was in "The Outsiders" thirty-one years ago and her first notable role was in "9½ Weeks" as Thea (1986). Christine has received a total of eleven Emmy nominations (your faves could neva :kink: )!!! She won the Emmy Award for "Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series" as Maryanne Thorpe in "Cybill" (1995). I still remember that series and Christine was very funny. I would say that she was my best character there!! Unfortunately, Christine doesn't always choose the best roles for her and she took part in some terrible movies..However, her acting is always good and she has many core fans.. Johnkm is one of them! Christine married actor Matthew Cowles in October 1983. They were married until his death on May 22, 2014. They have two daughters. I have watched some of her movies so far : 9½ Weeks (It's not bad but it's not good either, the soundtrack was very good though), Cruel Intentions (One of the most clever teenage movies), Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Very funny, Christmas stories are always good), The Guru (Quite funny but the characters were tragic..), Chicago (One of the best musicals that I've ever watched!), Marci X (Horrible), Welcome to Mooseport (Not funny and forgettable too) and Mamma Mia! (One of my favourite musicals, Abba has great discography!). I would suggest you to watch "9½ Weeks" for the memorable striptease of Kim Basinger, "Cruel Intentions" because it has an intriguing script and subversive end, "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas" for the upcoming Christmas, "Chicago" because the performances are great and it has nice soundtrack and "Mamma Mia" because it's very enjoyable, the performances are amazing and Christine shines there..
