Classic Cinema 1960-1969
I noticed that there wasn't a topic for these movies. I watched "Kapo" at the cinema today and I decided to make a topic for these gems. If you really like these films, you can suggest your favourites here. You can also add movies which you don't like them. "Kapo" will be the first movie here! "Kapo" is a 1960 Italian film which was directed by Italian director Gillo Pontecorvo and it was nominated for an Oscar for the "Best Foreign Language Film" for the year 1960. It received many good reviews at the time, but it lost the golden statuette to the "The Virgin Spring" by Swedish Ingmar Bergman. "The Battle of Algiers" was the second film by Gillo Pontecorvo proposed by the Academy of Oscar seven years later and it had the same fate of "Kapo". However, both films were loved by film enthusiasts in Europe and America. It was distinguished in many recognized festivals at the time! "Kapo" was one of the first films that dealt with the Holocaust. However, I guess that most of my generation and younger ones have watched films or mini-series about the Holocaust which were released in the late 70s and after, like Holocaust and Schindler's List. Although the main character of the story is Jewish, the film is based on the concentration camp that had to do with political prisoners. The leading actress of the film, Susan Strasberg, was great with her role and I noticed that all the actors/actresses were very good and convincing with their characters (especially Didi Perego). Emannuel Riva (Amour) also participated in this film and it was one of the few times that I saw an actor first advanced in age and then youthful. There was not exaggeration or melodrama although it could easily have happened. Many directors tempt to provoke the emotions of the viewers but Gillo Pontecorvo was not one of them. Gillo respected the events of that terrible time. He used to spend months, and sometimes years, researching and studing the material for his films because he wanted to represent the actual social situations as they happened and not as he imagined. The story was very interesting to watch and as development progressed, you didn't feel bored. Although performance and script were very good in comparison to the films of our time, I would say not the same about direction. It was not bad but certainly the technology and image have evolved to such an extent that it would be unfair to compare "Kapo" with the films of recent decades. However, for those times, it was pretty good! Although I have watched a few movies from the golden 60s, I really liked "Kapo" and I appreciated the work of Gillo. I loved the fact that I watched a film in black and white film and the fact that I watched it at the cinema. It was one more reason for me to like it more. It was definitely worth nominated by the Academy for Oscar because it had all the factors that make a movie very important! These films should be shown frequently on television to remember that the Nazis were the worst human beings on this planet! Unfortunately, some people are still nostalgic about those people who massacred millions of people because of their perverted minds.. Pa5UmEKxFqM

Lucy
I watched this movie at the cinema yesterday! "Lucy" is a French production which was released in my country two weeks ago. The official trailer was advertised a lot during the summer and its success at the Box Office was a good sign for the upcoming success in Europe. Scarlett Johansson is the leading actress and she is starting slowly to be the main character of the films in which she involved like "In Her Skin". Her co-star is Morgan Freeman, whose name is a constant value to every film in which he participates in. The beginning of "Lucy" was quite good and it seemed very promising. However, the movie changed a lot somewhere in the middle and we watched multiple exaggerations. The imagination of the screenwriter was also out of control and it surpassed the imagination of every previous science fiction movie. It was a bit of a stretch... Luc Besson wrote the script, directed and edited the movie. I read somewhere that this project took him ten years to complete. It seemed that he studied several scientific surveys because "Lucy" had several reports on human intelligence and capabilities of other living beings on Earth. The script was very interesting but it had so many edited scenes and every scene changed so quickly in which they didn't give you enough time to think of the plot. These scenes just didn't contain some dialogue to serve the main story but they were also full of chases, explosions and gunfires in which they ruined every positive thought of the creator. Luc Besson could use some of his sources at the beginning of the film, so he had prepared the audience for what was to come. Apparently, he didn't have enough time and he preferred to put them all together to impress the viewers but he left them tired and icily indifferent. We also couldn't stop to laugh with the hyperboles of the movie in the end of the film. It had impressive visual effects for an European film and Scarlett Johansson was very convicing for her role. Unfortunately, they were not enough to save "Lucy" from the disappointing result. It could give you so much as a script idea but when a director tries so hard to surpass himself, he only manages to be ridiculous and novelty at the end of the day. Luc Besson managed to turn an interesting story into a travesty within 90 minutes!! Well done.. "Lucy" is already considered one of the most successful films this year. With a fairly low budget ($40.000.0000) for an adventrure/science fiction film, it managed to earn more than $310.000.000 so far! Most expensive productions had the same earnings as "Lucy" (Noah, 300 : Rise of an Empire). I think that its unexpected success at the Box Office was the main reason for these total numbers. The official trailer maybe played an important role too because the reviews were quite bad and I don't think that they helped the situation. It has already had a relatively modest rating in Imdb (6,6) which it proved that the reaction of viewers didn't help these earnings too. However, I guess that the opinions of the viewers are very extreme (either too positive either too negative) and this intrigued many others to watch it at the cinema.

Total Points : 7 Anjelica Huston http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_oDG-Ri2htKU/TBPir7XvGsI/AAAAAAAAB4E/LHZwbRx_Lz0/s1600/anjelica%20huston%202.jpg Angelica Huston is a great actress! Her physiognomy is very special and it's too difficult to forget this woman. Anjelica Huston is an American actress. Huston became the third generation of her family to win an Academy Award. She won the Academy Award for "Best Supporting Role" in Prizzi's Honor. Her father was a director and her grandfather was an actor (chip off the old block). She received Academy Award nominations for her roles in "Enemies a Love Story" and "The Grifters". She also received Bafta Nominations for her work in the Woody Allen films "Crimes and Misdemeanors" and "Manhattan Murder Mystery". Her most memorable role was as Morticia Addams in "The Addams Family". Wes Anderson admires this woman and he has collaborated with her many times since 2001. Anjelica is famous for her political activism too. She led a letter campaign organized by the U.S. Campaign for Burma and Human Rights Action Center seven years ago. Her biggest donation has been a yearly commitment to TLC (Transgender Law Center) for over a decade. Huston recorded a public service announcement for PETA two years ago. She wanted to urge her colleagues in Hollywood to refrain from using great apes in television, movies and advertisements. The animal rights organization named her their "Person of the Year 2012" a few weeks later. She had an on-and-off relationship with Jack Nicholson for 17 years..Two members are her best fans here. I have watched a few of her films but I really want to watch many of her movies such as "Prizzi's Honor" and " The Witches". I have watched so far : The Addams Family (the cast was very identical for this movie, it was very funny but creepy too), The Royal Tenenbaums (quite funny in some parts but it was quite boring overall), Blood Work (very interesting story, unpredictable ending), The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (Very nice direction with many colours but the acting was so boring/I felt that the cast smoked weed before the movie), The Darjeeling Limited (bored to death) and When in Rome (Tragic!). I would suggest you to watch "The Addams Family" because it was a very good adaptation and "Blood Work" because it was one of the best mystery thriller that year (2002). I guess that she has a lot of good movies because of the positive reviews. Unfortunately, I watched some of her worst films..

Total Points : 7 Tricia Helfer http://images.askmen.com/photos/tricia-helfer/12730.jpg The truth is that I don't know anything about Tricia Helfer. However, she has many sexy photos and I'm sure that she is famous for her physical appearance. Her wikipedia page will be my saviour tonight..Tricia Helfer is a Canadian model and actress (it's so obvious). She is of German, English, Swedish and Norwegian descent. She is best known for her role on the television series "Battlestar Galactica". In 1992, she won Ford Models' Supermodel of the World Contest. She appeared in many ad campaigns (Versace, Giorgio Amrani, Chanel, Ralph Lauren). She hosted "Canada's Next Top Model". Her debut role was as Sarah on the television series "Jeremih". She has four artificial discs in her back and two in her neck because of an accident in which a piece of luggage was dropped on her head while sitting on a commercial airliner, and two in her lower back from mishaps while doing her own stunts. Tricia seems to be a very active personality. She co-founded the charity web site "Acting Outlaws" with her co-star Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) which is open for donations for different causes and charity events. She is also involved in various causes, from animal rescue to the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. She appeared in a PETA video campaign this year because she wanted to encourage cat owners to keep their pets indoors. Two members voted for her. I haven't watched her movies yet but I really appreciate the fact that she involves in many social activities. It shows that this woman has a great character and I will start to watch her movies in the future.

Total Points : 7 Dakota Fanning http://www3.pictures.stylebistro.com/gi/Dakota%20Fanning%20Long%20Hairstyles%20Long%20Straight%20eNQi9L4pGdjl.jpg Dakota is the second youngest actress in this countdown (Only Saoirse is younger than her). Dakota Fanning is an American actress. She was very popular when she was kid. Her breakthrough performance was in the film "I Am Sam" and she was only 7 years old. Her exceptional performance earned her a nomination for a Screen Actors Guild Award at age eight in 2002, making her the youngest nominee in history. As a child, she appeared in many successful films and many critics praised her for her acting. However, it seems that she isn't so successful with her latest films because the majority of them are unknown. Only her participation in the "Twilight series" helped her to be relevant again. Many actors/actresses who were famous when they were kids, it seems that they struggle to have a decent career when they grow up..Dakota is one of them. I guess that she needs better roles because I found her incredibly talented as a kid!! Ru Pavel/Conderella had her name on his list. I have watched many of her films so far : I Am Sam (Very emotional movie, great performances), Trapped (It wasn't bad but the ending was so f*cking predictable), Uptown Girls (very entertaining movie), Man on Fire (One of my favourite action films that year), Hide and Seek (the plot/main story was very disappointing and offensive), War of the Wolrds (Great visual and sound effects, it had suspense and it was one of my favourite movies of 00's), Push (one of her worst films), The Twilight Saga : New Moon (One of my worst films that year), The Twilight Saga : Eclipse (I don't remember it) and The Twilight Saga : Breaking Down : Part 2 (It wasn't very bad as the previous films). I would suggest you to watch "I Am Sam" because it's one of the best social movies that I've ever watched, "Uptown Girls" because her chemistry with Britanny Murphy was so good, "Man on Fire" because it had suspense and interesting story and "War of the Worlds" because it was an impressive blockbuster!! I really liked "Twilight" because I found it funny in some parts and it was nice as teenage film. Nevertheless, the rest of the series were quite repetitive, full of cliches and Bella's indecision was very annoying.

Total Points : 7 Courteney Cox http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2014/01/28/article-2547113-1B03AAE200000578-680_634x820.jpg Courteney Cox is a very attractive woman. She is an American actress. Her most well-know television role was as Monica Geller in "Friends". However, she was very popular with her role in the Scream film series as Gale Weathers. Tv viewers also loved her as as Jules Cobb in the Cougar Town (She is the definition of "Cougar"). Cox appeared in the music video for Bruce's Springsteen's "Dancing in the Dark" (1984). Apart from the "Scream series", I wouldn't say that her movies were very successful in cinema. She has a lot of movies which they failed to have a big impact at the Box Office. Her tv roles totally saved her career. Cox married actor David Arquette in 1999. Hovever, they broke up last year. They have a daughter and Jennifer Aniston is her godmother. Cox engaged to Johnny McDaid (Snow Patrol's member) over two months ago. Regina is her best fan here! I haven't watched many of her films because her movies don't look very promising : Ace Ventura : Pet Dedective (Hilarious), Scream (One of my favourite horror films), Scream 2 (Very decent for a sequel), Scream 3 (ridiculous and disappointing), 3000 Miles to Graceland (Forgettable) and Scream 4 (It was terrible in comparison with the first two films). I would suggest you to watch Ace Ventura : Pet detective because you will laugh a lot and it's very enjoyable film. I would also suggest you to watch Scream and Scream 2 are two of the best horror films and they defined the 90's.

Total Points : 7 Emily Blunt http://www.fungur.com/uploads/2013/03/600full-emily-blunt-479x360.jpg I really like this woman although her films are so hit or miss. Emily Blunt is an English Actress. She has already played in many movies. She hasn't an Oscar nomination so far but she has been nominated for four Golden Globe Awards, two London Film Critics' Circle Awards, and one BAFTA Award. She won a Golden Globe Award for her work in the BBC television drama "Gideon's Daughter" (2007). She received the BAFTA Britannia Award for British Artist of the Year five years ago! Emily Blunt has a wide variety of roles. However, I wouldn't say that she always makes the right choices about her films. Emily had a three year relationship with Michael Bublé (She found Mr Bland..). They shared a home in Vancouver before breaking up in 2008. Emily married John Krasinsky on 10 July 2010 in Como, Italy. They have also a daughter. Emily's brother-in-law is Stanley Tucci who married Blunt's sister Felicity. Emily struggled with stuttering for seven years when she was child but it seemed that she overcame the stutter through acting. Two members had her name on their lists. I have watched some of her films : The Devil Wears Prada (overrated film but it was quite funny in some parts), Dan in Real Life (underrated film, I enjoyed it a lot), The Wolfman (I watched this movie twice in the cinema because some stupid girls laughed a lot at fist time), The Adjustment Bureau (Boring and dull), Looper (It was not bad but it was not good either) and Edge of Tomorrow (Amazing movie with great visual and sound effects). I would suggest you to watch "Dan in Real Life" because it was a decent social movie and Steve Carell shines there (Actually, I don't remember Emily) and Edge of Tomorrow because I regard it as one of the best action films this year. Emily's character was her most different role so far..

Total Points : 7 Samantha Barks http://cdn.sheknows.com/articles/2012/12/Samantha-Barks-dec13-les-miserables-main.jpg The truth is that I don't know many things about Samantha Barks but her acting was very decent in "Les Miserables". I really liked "On My Own" and it was very close to be a Top 40 hit (#43). Samantha became popular because of her participation in the BBC talent show–themed television series "I'd Do Anything" in 2008. However, her role as Eponine in "Les Miserables" was the best chance to become popular almost everywhere. She received nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Award for "Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture", the Satellite Award for "Best Supporting Actress – Motion Picture", and the Broadcast Film Critics Association Award for "Best Acting Ensemble". She also won the Empire Award for "Best Female Newcomer" and shared in the National Board of Review Award for "Best Cast". We will see her in "Dracula Untold" in which she plays a character from Eastern European folk tales known as "Baba Yaga", a beautiful young woman who transforms into a savage witch. It will be released in theaters October 10, 2014. Cameron is her biggest fan here. She hasn't a "huge" filmography yet. I have watched only "Les Miserables". So, I would suggesst you to watch this movie because Samantha's part was one of the best in this film.

Magic in the Moonlight
I have watched every movie made by Woody Allen at the cinema in the last 6 years (Whatever Works, You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, Midnight in Paris, To Rome with Love, Blue Jasmine and Magic in the Moonlight). He was not always the leading actor of his movies but he always cares to include very decent actors in his films. In his new film, Colin Firth stars as one of the best actors of his generation and the leading actress is Emma Stone who is very popular with her latest roles. One more time, his new film released this season (late August-Early September) and it's one of the best choices for someone who wants to watch it in an outdoor cinema (Warning! Make sure that the movie theater is not located next to a highway/speedway). "The Magic in the Moonlight" was a very pleasant movie. The script was well-written and the main story was very interesting to watch. I have noticed that Woody Allen likes to write stories which deal with magic issues (Midnight in Paris) and he tackles them in such a way for the purpose of having one conclusion. He never supports an authoritarian view and he always presents both sides on a controversial issue but he always ends up in what he believes. The fact that he uses this method to show us some personal views on philosophical and existential issues, it shows that this man is simply genius! Many people know this specific method, but a few of them use it correctly. Regarding the performance, they were done very well by everyone. Colin Firth usually plays nerveless characters but he had a more intense acting with this character. Woody Allen wont convert his protagonists of his films like caricatures of him, without this reducing the prestige of his films. Besides, we get to see this many times in his previous films so it would be very disappointing to see a subdued performance of the character interpreted by Firth. The co-star Emma Stone was the most suitable for the role. Her facial expressions and her acting fit perfectly into this film. The direction was remarkable and the cinematography was the best of a Woody Allen film. It had beautiful outside shots and the photography was magnificent (reminiscent of Greece). It may not be the best film he has made throughout his career, but definitely spent a very pleasant evening watching it. This movie has something to say and is not confined within a conventional romantic comedy. "Magic in the Moonlight" is so far a modest Box Office success but anyway, Allen's films has never been very commercial (apart from a few exceptions). They are usually artistic successes and it is not random that he was nominated 24 times by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences either as screenwriter or director or as an actor. However, his new film has received a decent score on the valid source IMDB (6,9) but for this creator we would say that it's quite average. Nevertheless, "The Magic in the Moonlight" is an entertaining movie that passes messages over time and it will be even better if you watch it under the moonlight. MG71z-AP524

3 Days to Kill
I watched this movie yesterday. The most positive thing about Greek outdoors cinemas is the fact that they show/screen older movies with very cheap ticket or similar best offers in order to raise their earnings. If someone didn't watch a movie which it was released in late June or early July, he could watch it some weeks later. I wouldn't say that I was crazy about "3 Days To Kill" although it was released at the first week of July and the competition wasn't strong. So, we decided to watch it this time because it had a tempting price and the outdoor cinema is quite close to our homes. "3 Days To Kill" is an action movie with a CIA agent who wants to quit because he is dying and he tries to reconnect with his family. However, a sexy blonde woman (Amber Heard) offers him a drug that could save his life in exchange for one last assignment. Everyone can understand that the script is not something special. We have watched a lot of movies with these kinds of stories. All of them have similar plots and almost the same ending. Ιn this particular case, "3 Days To Kill" is quite enjoyable although it's not one of the best movies this year. It has a lot of action scenes, funny dialogues and it's easy to watch it. Maybe the participation of Kevin Costner played an important role for this because he seemed that he enjoyed the movie although the Golden Razzies always appreciate his acting..He had some nominations in the past and three winnings for his performances in "Robin Hood : Prince of Thieves", "Wyatt Earp" and "The Postman". Luc Besson is the writer of the story and he is also the producer of the movie. It was not difficult to understand it because the movie was filmed in Paris and the main story was similar with dozens of his movies. As to the direction of the movie, I wouldn't say that it was great and McG's (director) movies are always hit (Terminator : Salvation) or miss (Charlie's Angels / Charlie's Angels : Full Throttle). However, "3 Days To Kill" is somewhere in the middle of them. The positive facts about this movie was the editing, the sexy appearance of Amber Heard and the likeable performance of Hailee Steinfield who was nominated for an Academy Award for "Best Supporting Actress" four years ago. "3 Days To Kill" doesn't belong to the category of movies which are very successful at the Box Office but for a French-American production, it had very decent earnings. Of course, it's far away from the numbers of "Taken" but with this result would be difficult to achieve it. "Taken" was much better than it. Though it managed to outreach its budget and it would be a good choice for watching it at home if you feel bored or tired. Maybe, it will change your mood. It has a representative average score in IMDB and if I could compare it with other movies, it deserved this rating. Let's hope that Luc Besson will not write another similar story because the peak of his career is "Taken". He could make family movies based on "3 Days To Kill" because the family part was very entertaining.. iVLRDwLv3kg

Expendables 3
I watched this movie at the cinema today. "The Expendables" just came back and the production added three famous actors to the cast (Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Antonio Banderas). One of my best friends and I watched the first two films at the cinema and we were sure what we would see in the new movie too. However, we enjoyed those films and we wanted to watch the third part too. Besides, it's always difficult to stop bad habits. I always believe that the actors of "Expendables" are honest with themselves because they believe that they are expended with their movies every time. Some of them were very famous in the past (Arnorld Scharzenegger, Sylvester Stallone) and their movies had commercial success at the Box Office but this doesn't change the fact that their talent is always limited.. Though I was a big fan of Arnold Scharzenegger when I was kid/teenager, I regard that the soul of "The Expendables" is Sylvester Stallone (he is the leading actor) and this movie could not exist without him. When a movie has many sequels rarely the context and the quality improve over the time. Every new movie is worse than the previous one, the script is always the same or similar and the actors begin to lose their good mood from the first film. Despite the fact that "The Expendables 2" made the difference with the unpredictably enjoyable result, "The Expendables 3" just confirmed the rule. Unfortunately, it was pretty hard to watch it until the half of its length and the hot fuss finally happened in the last thirty minutes. Sylvester Stallone had the same boring facial expressions all the time and the addition of young actors was a waste of time. Honestly, their participation in "The Expendables" was the most bland thing in the series. Apart that some of these were "ornamental plants" in the movie (A Greek phrase). Antonio Banderas had the most deserve role because he literally trolled everyone with his character and he made us laugh with his funny quotes. Despite the fact that "The Expendables 2" was better than the first film and it had incredible quotes and gags, the third part expended with senseless explosions, dialogues and expressions. The only positive fact about this movie was the final battle because it reminded us of "old bad cinema times" (Rambo etc). I found the direction worse in comparison with the first two films while the performances seemed so tired and I felt that they were bored of this concept. They looked very jaded and overwhelmed and the results were very tragicomic at the big screen. "The Expendables 3" didn't have the best beginning at the Box Office even though the second part outnumbered the debut film. I guess that the third part will struggle to reach the half numbers of their total earnings. The fact that it was released in August and without strong competition, it shows that their boredom has been "expended" so far. However, the producers weren't disappointed with the result and I read somewhere that they are ready for the next movie. Let's hope they make a very bad movie because they will have a place in history of cinema (even in a negative way). If they make another similar story like this and the actors feel bored and tired, everyone will forget it after a while.. 4xD0junWlFc

Hercules
I watched this movie at the cinema today!!!It seems that "Hercules" is an interesting hero for Hollywood because studios have already released two movies with him this year (The Legend of Hercules & Hercules). The first movie was "The Legend of Hercules" with Kellan Lutz. It had a disappointing beginning at the box office and it ended up to be a big failure worldwide. The second "Hercules" movie was released seven months later and it has a different leading actor (Dwayne Johsson/The Rock) and a different story (Thracian wars). I hadn't the chance to watch the first movie (I was lucky..) but I didn't want to lose anything from the new movie. I have watched the official trailer at the cinema and it seemed very impressive movie. Besides, we rarely watch many new movies every August in Greece because almost everyone is on holidays even though we are in a financial crisis.. The movie was an ultimate disappointment! We were sure about the bad context when we watched the first fifteen minutes. Historical inaccuracies, irrelevant names/people with Hercules, innuendos, modern humour etc. I found it a little bit better than the Tv series of Hercules based on the direction but the script and the dialogues were exactly the same. The acting was bad as the movie continued. The movies of Brett Ratner are always hit or miss but he could make a better movie with this budget ($100.000.000). He is famous for his collaborations with big pop stars like Madonna and Mariah Carey and he undertook the direction of many well-know pop hits. Some of them were quite good (Jessica Simpson – These Boots are made for walkin') but some of them were very bad (Miley Cyrus – 7 things). Don't forget that his latest movie, Movie 43, was the biggest winner of the Golden Razzies (2013). How humiliating! It seemed that the producers/writer/director didn't respect the legendary hero. They added so many irrelevant/silly things and we ended up watching a monstrosity! Ok, this is my personal opinion and I'm sure that many people found it exciting as a movie but this doesn't change the quality and the context of the movie! It was a parody without offering something good apart from mocking it with your friends. We mocked it all the time and the rest of the viewers did the same. The most deserving thing about it, it was the fact that we bought a bucket of popcorn and one of my friends offered us pasteli/sesame seed candy. At least, the movie was less painful with the consumption of them. "Hercules" lost the No.1 place at the box office to "Lucy" with Scarlett Johansson but it managed to reach $160.000.000 worldwide. Surely, it's not the best result for a blockbuster movie but it avoided the total ruin although the plot was so bad. It has an average score in Imdb (6,5) which it means that the viewers/fans don't know many things about Greek Mythology and Hercules. Personally, I would give it less than 5 because they should respect the hero and I hope they will leave him alone in the future. I'm sorry but we don't need another hero if they will represent him like this!

Total Points : 6 Naomi Watts http://www3.pictures.stylebistro.com/gi/Naomi%20Watts%20Makeup%20Berry%20Lipstick%20blSQGGf6-NRl.jpg I expected that Naomi Watts would be higher in this list. I'm a big fan of her but I hadn't her name in my list because I had to choose only 10 actresses. However, I think that she is very talented and I'm glad that someone choosed her!! I can praise her all night long but it would be quite boring for you. Naomi Watts is a British actress but I always thought that she came from Australia. Naomi was born in Shoreham, Kent, England. Her father was a road manager and sound engineer who worked with Pink Floyd. Unfortunately, he was found dead in a flat in Notting Hill, of an apparent heroin overdose (1976). Naomi moved to Sydney (her maternal grandmother was Australian) with her mother, brother and stepfather when she 14 (1982). She decided to become a model when she was 18. She signed with a models agency that sent her to Japan, but after several failed auditions, she returned to Sydney. Watts has stated about her nationality: "I consider myself British and have very happy memories of the UK. I spent the first 14 years of my life in England and Wales and never wanted to leave. When I was in Australia I went back to England a lot." She also has expressed her ties to Australia, declaring: "I consider myself very connected to Australia, in fact when people say where is home, I say Australia, because those are my most powerful memories." That's why I was confused with her nationality. Naomi has a wide variety of roles and she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress for her roles in "21 Grams" and "The Impossible". I believe that her nomination for a Golden Raspberry for her role in Diana was f*cking pointless. Naomi is always decent even if the movie is below average or bad. I guess that Davidson loves her acting too. I have watched many of her movies because I'm her fan : Mullholand Drive (crazy movie but it gives you food for thought/it's difficult to understand the plot), The Ring (very scary movie, great horror atmosphere, the definition of spooky), Ned Kelly (not a bad film but forgettable), Le Divorce (entertaing but forgettable too), 21 Grams (great direction, great story, great performances), I Heart Huckabees (very weird movie, I didn't like it), The Ring Two (not so great as the first film), Stay (intriguing story, unpredicatable ending), King Kong (The visual effects were great but I prefer the original film with Jessica Lange), The Painted Veil (emotional movie, nice performances), Eastern Promises (It was not a bad film but it was quite slow), The International (it had interesting story but the result wasn't the best), Mother and Child (One of my favourite social movies in the last years /it had different stories and nice cast), You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger (quite funny but it's not one of the best Woody Allen films), Dream House (very disappointing film), The Impossible (great performance, unbelievable story, great direction) and Diana (decent film). I would suggest you to watch "Mullholland Driver" because I'm still waiting for an answer, "The Ring" (especially for horror fans), "21 Grams" because it was one of the best films that year (2003), "Stay" because it will keep your attention, "The Painted Veil" because it was a great adaptation and it had great cinematography, "Mother and Child" because you will appreaciate your mothers even more and "The Impossible" because J.A Bayona's direction was so f*cking real!!

Total Points : 6 Emily Watson http://www3.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Emily%20Watson%20Lancia%20Cafe%20Hosts%20Oranges%20Sunshine%20RnXAj6Encr0l.jpg Another brilliant actress!!! Emily Watson is an English actress!! Critics praised her talent for her performance in Lars von Trier's Breaking the Waves. It was her debut film. She also received Academy Award nominations for Best Actress for her role in Breaking the Waves and Hilary and Jackie. She had a great beginning but it seems that she stuggles to find a suitable role these days. It doesn't mean that she makes bad choices but she needs to have an intriguing character for recognition again. She is out of the league with her latest roles. Director Jean-Pierre Jeunet wrote the character Amélie for Watson to play (Amélie was originally named Emily) but she eventually turned the role down due to difficulties speaking French. She was also the first choice to play Elizabeth I. However, her acting is always good and she always likeable with her roles. Emilly committed supporter of the children's charity the NSPCC. Heezus is her best fan here.. I have watched some of her movies : Punch-drunk love (decent film with her and Adam Sandler), Red Dragon (Much better than Hannibal), Equilibrium (interesting story, underrated movie), War Horse (One of my favourite films that year, great direction, emotional ending), Anna Karenina (full of cliches) and The Book Thief (very nice story). I would suggest you to watch "The Red Dragon" because it's the prequel of "The Silence of the Lambs", "Equilibrium" because it's very special movie, "War Horse" because it's one of the best stories about horses and "The Book Thief" because the perfromances were very good and the story was great!

Total Points : 6 Maggie Smith http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ijC1KxCUSyE/TjbMewswc9I/AAAAAAAAecY/Ed9yRCUzDiQ/s1600/maggie%20smith%20belfast%20telegraph.jpg We have to admit that Maggie Smith is a great actress!! Basically, she is a living legend and she is one of the most recognisable British actresses!!! We loved many of her roles and her participation is always the highlight to every movie! She has appeared in over 50 films. She was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in the 1990 New Year Honours for services to the performing arts! She has a wide variety of roles and she has won many awards!! Her list of awards and nominations is too long (Academy Awards, Bafta Awards, Golden Globe Awards, Satellite Awards, Critics Awards, Emmy Awards, Tony Awards etc). However, her two notable awards were the Academy Award for Best Actress for The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (1969) and Best Supporting Actress for California Suite (1978). She is one of only six actresses to win the Academy Award in both Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress categories. The new generations love her because of her role in Harry Potter as Professor Minerva McGonagall. She is very unique..AaronTM had her name on his list. I have watched a few of her movies so far : Death on the Nile (Great film, great story, great performances), California Suite (Very good movie, clever quotes/dialogues, Maggie is stunning there), Hook (very entertaining film), Sister Act (hilarious), Sister Act 2 : Back in the Habbit (Not so great as the first film), Harry Potter (It used to be a tradition) and Keeping Mum (Very funny movie). I would suggest you to watch "Death on the Nile" because Agatha Christie has exceptional novels, "California Suite" because it's a nice story and Maggie's character is intriguing, Hook because it was a great book-to-film adaptation, Sister Act because it has an original script and funny performances, Harry Potter because it has great production and Keeping Mum because you will laugh a lot with the story/characters. I feel that I haven't followed her fimography yet when I watched so many bad movies in the past (Shame on me!)
