I think that "The Man" will be a good no.1 especially after so many dance songs (Rather Be, Tsunami, My Love, I Got U). It seems that 2014 will have a big variety of No1.s and this is so cool. "The Man" and "She Looks So Perfect" don't sound like the rest. I hope we will see a rock/alternative song and a pop ballad as No.1 too.

The verses of this song are perfect but the chorus is a little bit generic. If it had a better chorus, it would be one of my favourite songs ever!!! It's very powerful!!! John Martin has very good voice and i like the way that he sings...I hope he will have a decent career and many good songs like "Anywhere For You".

I just heard this song yesterday. I haven't heard the original version but i like Kian's version. I think that he was overshadowed by the others when he was in Westlife..Maybe his new album/songs will help him to be more famous than the others. Especially after the disappointed sales of Shane Filan.

"Give It Up" was massive to radio stations that year. I really don't remember "On A Ragga Tip" and "Now That We Found Love. I have never heard them on radio or music channels. "Setting Sun" and "Right Here, Right Now" were massive on Mtv playlists. "Give It Up" is my favourite of them and many sport programmes used to play it every sunday.

I would react if this wasn't such a far-fetched attempt at being superior to everyone here.
This. Pavel totally understood what i wanted to say..But it seems that some people are very sensitive here..And naive too..Odaisul doesn't need to get mad. I didn't combine carnival with Portugal because brazilians speak portuguese..Oh my gosh!! We have also a famous carnival in my country too. And "Quero ser tua" reminds me Patra's carnival. It's ony an opinion..
Take a look :

It seemed that Polina was a new artist and we didn't many things about her. But Polina gave her voice to some of the world EDM stars such as Tiësto, Steve Aoki, Laidback Luke and Kaskade (just to name a few). Her voice is also featured on David Morales club anthem "Holiday" and, along with Moguai, on the track "Invisible". Born in Moscow, daughter of the russian pop singer Anka, and strongly influenced by the 90's european electronic music, with Annie Lennox as main inspiration. There is a lot of information about her under her official video on you tube..
"Fade to love" sounds good. Alex Gaudino always produce nice music with female vocals (Nicole Scherzinger, Kelly Rowland, Maxine Ashley).

I like the majority of his singles because I always find amazing his music. "Call On Me" is the most powerful and dynamic but i like "Pjanoo" and the underrated "Every Day" too. His new one is very listenable. Swedish were famous about their pop music but it seems that they have already changed peoples consciousness for them..Their dance music is a new trend everywhere...

I just watched this movie at cinema today. Surely, it wasn't the best film that i've ever watched in my life..Basically, it had ignorance of history. So many errors..I know that you don't need to watch movies for knowing history but this movie was out of limits.. Hollywood always gives emphasis to impression than the essential part. I agree that Eva Green was the best thing about this movie. She was gorgeous!!! She was also the only actress considered for the role of Artemisia and luckily for the film-makers she agreed to do it as they had no. No. 2 choice based on Imdb. It had impressive visual effects and the cinematography was decent. But the fights between Greeks and Persians were tragic. I felt that i watched a mix of Highlander and Samurai. Greeks didn't fight like this. The Battle of Salamis also reminded me "The Battleship"..Only Rihanna was missing..Especially the scene with the crude oil was the most irrrelevant thing about this movie. The acting couldn't be better because of the battles/fights and the costumes looked like carnival..Xerxes outfit could be the official dress for a novelty entry in Eurovision..Also, the casting was so bad. Nobody seemed like an ancient Greek. They all looked like British/Australians to me (the most obvious was "Calisto/Jack O'Connell")... :P The casting about the Persians was better.
I found "300" (2006) much better film than this. Luckily (for them), "Rise Of An Empire was popular in Box Office and it outsold the production budget. To date, it has grossed an estimated $290.7 worldwide. Nice result for an average movie like this.
I have one feeling about this movie and it is represented by this video :

This discussion isn't really going anywhere is it?
Indeed..But it's nice to have different opinions..If we all agreed, it would be a boring topic (or a praise topic)..I think that it's much more interesting with all of these disagreements.. :smoke:
I'm waiting for your countdown. Greetings to everyone!!!

I guess that "Ne Ver' Ne Boysia" is a modern russian song..I didn't mean only the language. If the songs had english lyrics, it would be nice to have (at least) traditional music. And the opposite. If they had modern sound, it would be nice to have (at least) their own language. Not a "modern english song".Maybe for young people is not the only place to hear songs from different countries. But old people who don't use computer like us, it's a nice way to listen songs from different countries.

Believe me that i would love Euphoria, if it had Swedish lyrics too. I know..Maybe i'm an exception but i'm not a xenophobe. I listen British music more than my country's music. That's why i began my phrase like this "as much as i love British music"..But i would prefer to listen more 'traditional' songs in Eurovision song contest. If all the countries sent an english song, it would be an English festival for me. I don't think that Portugal, France, Spain and Italy send songs with their own language because they are xenophobe. They want to promote their culture across the Europe. If a song had english lyrics, it would be great to have (at least) traditional music. For example, "Rise Up" hasn't anything Greek this year when "Opa", "Aphrodiciac", "Watch My Dance" and "Alcohol is free" had something common (Language, Musical Instruments, Traditional dance e.t.c.). This doesn't mean that i hate our song. I like it actually..But don't confuse politics and a song contest. Xenophobia is something more serious and dangerous like a political party in my country.
To Pavel : I don't know Russian but i always enjoy Russian songs like "Nye ver, nye boysa". I remember that one friend of mine tried to learn the lyrics that year because he loved the song. And he managed to sing it with the Russian lyrcs. I suppose that there are many other people who did the same for others songs/language. I would be happy, if a foreign friend tried to sing a Greek song too. This is the magic for me because it is another way to learn about different cultures..

Yes, I do agree. But for once it would be nice to see my country represented by a piece of music with international appeal. I wouldn't mind if they sang it in Uzbek as long as the track sounded as modern as the Swedish or indeed the Greek.
As much as i love British music, i believe that Greece needs to send only Greek songs. This is Eurovision. Every country sends a song which it represents their culture (like Portugal/wise people). That's why i loved 1990-99 era in comparison with the last years. I think that it is extremely silly and offensive the fact that every country sends an english song. They are so wannabes and desperate!!! It's not an English festival. I prefer countries which they send songs with their own language. They have guts.. And i don't care if their languages sound like a dog barking to my ears. If their songs had nice vocals and music, i would like like them anyway...This is the magic of Eurovision. It doesn't need to understand every word of the lyrics..There are so many things that can excite you (Performance, rhythm, vocals, traditional instruments e.t.c).

46. "Gonna Make You Dance" sounds like something from Scooch because Girls Aloud had much better songs and their pop was always fantastic. Respect..:)..I noticed that our stage wasn't so good and we had better economy those years.. :P
45. This was the kind of song that i referred above with my posts. It's not the typical music of Portugal but it's a combination of portuguese language with modern sound. Of course, it could be better this combination..
44. I remember that song and i noticed that the girl with the pink skirt holds a yellow sign with greek words. It says "ο αγώνας είναι χαρά" and it means that "The game is pleasure/joy". I really appreciated that. The "Che Guevara" guy is so iconic..:) The song has something rebellious and it reminds me the film "No" with Gael Garcia Bernal..I can feel this entry because my country has/had the same economic problems with Portugal..
43. Their live performance was quite bad. They were out of tune. The song is not so bad but their live perfromance didn't help them. The last minute was like pain in my ears..
42. I didn't know about the dictatorship in Portugal. I knew only the dictatorship in Spain in which they suffered a lot.. "Dai Li Dou" was very funny. I laughed when i watched their moves with the rhythm of "Dai Li Dou"..
41. The girl is very likeable. I can't believe that her song didn't receive 1 point. It's shame when it happens this. They all give points to specific countries every time and the rest of them end up with very low or zero score..It's good to give (at least) one point to every country. Zero score is very bad and "Antes do adeus" didn't deserve that treatment..
Very nice work and it's very informative. Go on..
