How's this doing on views? Didn't What About Us get a million views in its first two days or something? I guess that was more because of the whole hype in America and people checking them out as the TV show hadn't aired at the time the video came out so I doubt Gentleman will manage that now but hopefully it'll get close. EDIT: Just checked. Only 58k views... umm?

I'm still stanning for Una but Frankie's my least favourite now. Well, that sounds harsh as I do love them all but yeah, Frankie ranks bottom. 1. Una 2. Rochelle 3. Vanessa 4. Mollie 5. Frankie

Hate the ending and the Citreon just coming out of nowhere. Some of the CGI is awful but at the same time, it kinda adds to the tackiness of the whole concept of the video/song (said tackiness is a good thing). There are some great moments - Una and the hose, the strutting in the OTT outfits, Rochelle's facial expressions whenever Una sings a cutting line, the vogueing, Mollie doing the washing. People are taking the video far too seriously for what it is - and dare I say it, some people (not here, more on Twitter etc) just criticising it for the sake of it because it's The Saturdays, where it's apparently cool to constantly bitch and put them down. Sure it's not great overall, and it could have been much, much better with some less obvious CGI and tweaking. I'd love it if they could have focused more on the girls competing against each other like already said, and maybe even shot it on Wisteria Lane itself but their budget probably didn't allow for that. Hey ho. I can't at the irony of Girls Aloud's fans coming out of the woodwork all over the place and slating this though when their videos (bar two or three, perhaps) are utter shite and equally, if not a little more dull, 'cheap' and 'trashy' than this video.

Video premieres midnight tonight on Vevo/YouTube. :)

I think if they tour with the new album it'll most likely be early/middle of next year, around April/May time to allow rehearsal and prep time with all five of them back and 'fit' for want of a better word after all the pregnancies. :P

The video is directed by Trudy Bellinger, who directed Forever Is Over as well as The Promise, The Loving Kind, Sexy! No No No and The Show for Girls Aloud.

You should get it at some point - my copy of the mailer always ends up coming at different times haha. Sometimes late morning, early noon or late afternoon. You should get it. :)

This video is going to be AMAZING.

Just for the hell of it, I hope Mollie has some udders or something or there's a CGI image of a cow during her 'He already had the milk so why'd he go buy the cow' line. :P Video looks really promising. Could be a real moment. Hope it's storylike. The make up is a bit full on but I think it's intentional to tie in with the whole 90's thing. I quite like it.

Not sure if people already knew but Chase & Status are also releasing their single the same week as the girls. People shouldn't get their hopes up - June 30th looks like a very busy week with John Newman, Icona Pop, Chase & Status, Iggy Azalea and The Sats all releasing plus previous week releases from The Wanted and Avril Lavigne. Gentleman isn't a #1 single anyway IMO so I'm aiming with top 5 but I think it might end up around #6-#8. Icona Pop are nailed on for #1 surely. Besides, anyone worrying about pre-order differences is a bit off - they have far bigger hype and interest with their release - it's not all that worrying to be honest since I Love It has been hyped up for ages and been out there a good while now and John Newman's single looks set to do pretty well too. Chase & Status are kinda returning to the scene so there will be some hype for them too.

This is officially fantastic. It was a bit of a shock at first but it's a grower. For me, anyway. Go go go nineties! It just bugs me that the chorus isn't louder.

I'll be a bit annoyed if WAU just misses out on 10 weeks top 40. :P
  13. Low top 10 (#7-#10). I think they've enough of a core fanbase to get a pre-album release single top 10, the 4th quarter dreary single mistake that was My Heart Takes Over aside. It's not as instant or as 'universal' in its appeal as What About Us was. Think it's too polarising to do anything big IMO. I quite like it but yeah, people will either love or hate this. It takes a while to grow. At least people can't accuse them of being boring and playing it safe this time round, but I don't think it's going to pay off for them. Hopefully radio get behind them again but I'm not sure with this. Shame, as I like it. :(

Why is there a difference between the lyric video version and the version played on radio? Is that just a radio quality 'thing' or? It sounds much stronger and 'in your face' on the radio after tuning in this morning. I also think they should have listed off a few British guys in that roll call part of the song too. Now they'll just get the same old people bitching saying 'they're so desperate for a US hit' etc etc.

I'd say the video will be out next week, probably next Thursday or Friday? Failing that, then the week after.
  16. What does everyone think with Stooshe? How will they fare? Looking like a flop or top 10? I'm not sure how it'll play out for them... Radio 1 have snubbed them, Capital playlisted them but I've never heard it on there... hmm.
  17. Encore posted a post in a topic in Pop and Country
True. :) But then I remember 30 Days did well on iTunes first day pre-orders too didn't it? Peaked at #11 or #12 on the album chart the first day it went up for pre-order I think. Of course we won't know how this release will go until radio and TV play properly starts but still... I don't know if this single will be the best thing that's ever happened to them or the worst! Most people hated What About Us and said that would be a flop (myself included lol) upon first listen and look how that turned out so who knows. Then again though, WAU appealed to all sorts of people - hate this word but plenty of 'lads' have been tweeting about how it's a tune which I doubt they will for this single lol (at least not publicly :P). Hats off to them for being brave and going in the different direction to What About Us - nobody can accuse them of playing it safe or being generic or boring this time round... just not sure it'll pay off. It better do!

I'm scared for this release! Ha. People either love it or hate it... there really is no inbetween it seems. I guess it's good that it's got everyone talking about it but I'm kinda nervous now haha. I want it to smash (I can dream on for a second #1 lol) and nab top 5 at least but have a horrible feeling it'll not do all too well. What's everyone else thinking?

Much better in HQ. :) Just wish the chorus was more powerful and the beat could be heard more. Sounds amazing - and better - on radio too. Definitely a radio track. Not sure how well it'll do though. Reaction seems 50/50.... I think it's too polarising a track for their second #1. Hopefully it'll net them a top 10 peak at least? They have enough of a core fanbase for that.

Perfect GIF right now Jay. :P People will either love or hate this but I think it's a grower at the same time. I'm starting to love it, it's a great pop song with some genius lyrics. I just hope this leaked version is a demo or something because the chorus clip on Chasing The Saturdays sounds so much more powerful and lively. It sounded so much better... if they got rid of it! Hmph. Hopefully HQ will solve some of it and hopefully radio get behind it. It's going down well on Twitter etc. The only people disliking it seem to be the same old few who constantly bitch about the girls anyway.

Could this be a leaked demo? I'm probably wrong but I kinda hope so... could explain why the chorus/other parts of the song sounds quite flat compared to what we heard on that clip from Chasing The Sats. If not, the chorus definitely needed more life and oopmh to it.

Worst single? Please. If This Is Love and 30 Days say hey.

It'd be cool to see someone audition/perform WAU on a show like XF! Maybe acoustically.

http://telly.com/L9LPCL Rochelle's snippet! Sounds like a completely different song to what we've heard already!

'He already had the milk so why would he go buy the cow?' Amazing, iconic, genius etc etc. This single could be a massive moment for them if they pull it off. Their management tweeted to Popjustice last night that that line is only around 4th place in the best lyrics in Gentleman. Bring on the rest. It does sound like their Biology in the sense that it's 'out there' and a bit bonkers/all over the place lyrically etc. Cannot wait for tomorrow morning!
