    #61 :D
  3. Going by the TV guide synopsis for Comic Relief, it looks like the only performance is 1D with their Comic Relief single, so doubt there will be any announcement of other performers. And apparently Peter Kay is releasing a Comic Relief single Friday night (tomorrow), which will probably take off. Looks like we'll just have to hope for top 3. :P

    Playlist is up! :) http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/playlist/
  5. Stays on Radio 1's A List for another week.
  6. The one week there's no big acts releasing in the same week as the girls, there's big songs in the top 2 - Bruno and JT. And now Pink looks like she might be tough to beat now she's #3 on iTunes. Typical. :P Plus JT's album is released Monday so multiple versions of Mirrors will chart which will help him stay top, right?
  7. I lost my plays too so this is all fairly recent. What About Us isn't on the list as I haven't got it yet! I just listen to it on YouTube until I can download it haha. 1. All Fired Up 2. Chasing Lights 3. Higher 4. Notorious 5. Get Ready, Get Set 6. White Lies 7. Last Call 8. Open Up 9. Issues 10. Higher (feat. Flo Rida) 11. Faster 12. My Heart Takes Over 13. For Myself 14. Up 15. Missing You 16. Promise Me 17. Work 18. Just Can't Get Enough 19. Do What You Want With Me 20. Move On U 21. Set Me Off 22. Turn Myself In 23. Ego 24. Lies 25. Keep Her
  8. Nicole's down to #5 now.
  9. Not Giving Up On Love isn't the next single. The new single was confirmed by their make up artist as being a completely unheard track on the day they shot the video (this was before the Gentleman clip was shown on Chasing The Sats so that could still be in the running). I hope it isn't Gentleman though. It sounds better off as a good album track. The American accents will see them be slated and I think it would be a little too polarising as a single which they really don't need. It doesn't really sound like a Saturdays song which won't help them when it's on the radio, it doesn't sound like them. I'm not mad on What About Us but it has a bit of the Saturdays feel to it where Gentleman doesn't at all really. It's a completely different sound and direction to WAU which I don't think would help them. It also sounds like Spice Girls/Girls Aloud/Stooshe rolled into one haha. I'd love something like Britney Spears' Toxic on the album. Make it happen, Mollie!
  10. Just had a look at the sales for this weeks current top 10: 1 Justin Timberlake 66,572 2 Bruno Mars 58 842 3 Bastille 58,625 4 P!nk/Nate Ruess 49,163 5 Macklemore/Ryan Lewis/Wanz 48,570 6 One Direction 46,021 7 Bridgit Mendler 38,208 8 Avicii/Nicky Romero 35,332 9 Baauer 28,199 10 Taylor Swift 26,814 Would love for the girls to get close to AFU sales (69k) for a #1 or #2 position if sales are similar next week but almost certain not to happen. Probably likely to be around 40-45k first week, so around a 4/5/6 chart.
  11. There's always competition, whether it be releases in the same week or strong releases in previous weeks. Bruno Mars and Justin Timberlake (current top 2 right now) are going to be tough for the girls to beat.
  12. What are we all honestly thinking for this? I'm gonna say top 5... #4.
  13. I wish they'd do signings for WAU a la the 30 Days Glasgow one. Preferably London... I wanna meet them! ETA: Eeek, one week to go til we're checking iTunes every few minutes and posting the updates here constantly. Not sure if I'm looking forward to it or not haha.
  14. Do we think they might get a slot to perform on Comic Relief? That's on the 15th, song is released the 17th. Roch and Ness went to Tanzania with Comic Relief a few months ago, and now they're doing that Comic Relief thing with Maltesers... they've done a lot with them so hopefully they could?! Comic Relief, Ant & Dec, Alan Carr and the morning shows (Daybreak/This Morning/Loose Women) etc would be good a TV promo schedule for them. Chuck in a Radio 1 Live Lounge performance too.
  15. The EP is #80 on iTunes... hmm wonder why they're doing well there? Radio, TV airplay, Chasing The Sats? That's not bad at all considering the only time their EP's are that high are usually the first day the EP actually goes up for pre-order? Surprised it's that high tbh, usually they're down around the #200 mark in the few weeks before the release lol.
  16. So, just under 3 weeks to release... over 6 mil views on YT (incl. Sean Paul version of video), B List at Radio 1, and on Capital and Kiss FM's playlists too. Hopefully things will go well, and radio play continues after the release for once too. Top 5 would be great.
  17. Didn't Rochelle and Ness fly out to Africa(?) to do some work and filming for Comic Relief a few months ago?

Ben Howard's album sales are about to go through the roof.

Once The Saturdays are no more, I can see Una and Mollie moving into songwriting and the behind the scenes side of the industry. Kinda like Lucie Silvas.
  20. Was in the car today and heard this on Capital... then again on Kiss in the space of 5-10 minutes. Hopefully a good sign? :)
  21. They should bring the UK release of this forward... 3rd March would be a decent time.

Jeez, What About Us really is nosediving... I can't see it climbing back up that far now if it continues to drop at the rate it is. Oh dear. :( I dare say they're not going to succeed over there. I said from the start What About Us was the wrong song to debut with and wouldn't do much for them nor propel them to stardom Stateside. It's more worrying that they seem sure that the reality show was the only tool they needed to help them do it (and that's looking like its fallen flat on its face now too). Hopefully the second single could do something for them but by then Little Mix will - most likely - have taken over a la 1D. If they don't succeed over there and their UK situation doesn't improve after this album then I reckon they'll call it quits, especially with Rochelle just becoming a mum now too, and Ben not really getting to see Aoife/Una. Perhaps after a 'Greatest' Hits tour/album for the fans or something but how much longer can they keep going if they can't sell? I'd love them to keep going, success or no success, for the music but the label won't see it like that. And since their contract with Polydor was for 5 albums I think - and all things considered, I'd say this is the fifth album... would that contract be renewed if nothings changed sales wise? Where else can they go? Even Una said it was 'make or break' in regards to America and their career in an interview somewhere recently. Think it might have been that Sunday Mirror magazine where they dressed as cheerleaders or the Daily Mail one where they were in those sparkly dresses the other week - can't remember which one. :P

So Higher has now overtaken What About Us.... lol. Higher = #250 What About Us = #254

I know it's an older single but really, even before today with Higher doing well on iTunes, it screams a debut international pop single. It just sounds and feels right, much more than WAU does and ever will. It's just fun, catchy pop that appeals to everyone, whether they be old, young, a teen, male, female without alienating any of those audiences by being too sexed up etc lyrically.

They should have released Higher in the US around the time they released it in the UK and gone for it then. Of course this is all with hindsight and before the whole 'America loving the Brits' thing that's going on now so it would probably have been a harder task but even so. And what happened to those plans to release it in Germany too? Now there's going to be too much competition with Little Mix/Fifth Harmony both launching over there too this year etc and knowing The Sats luck it will probably be them out of the three who will miss out on any success and flop. Mercury are annoying now too, they never bother to really mention the girls but plug the hell out of Lawson all the damn time. They don't seem particularly invested or that bothered, especially considering everything promo wise that's taken place over there thus far has been down to E! and the reality show. Hmm, hopefully Mercury are saving it all for the next single. That aside, I want an acoustic EP from them this year. Just a little side project/gift to fans a la Bieber's new acoustic album.
