  1. *Emeli. And yes, they were. But the final always has more than two artists performing, lol.
  2. Down from #3 to #12 in the midweeks. :( I hope this doesn't continue plummeting. I'm guessing they'll perform Change Your Life at the XF final?
  3. Could Girls Aloud turn up at the final to perform Beautiful Cause You Love Me? Or not if Kimberley's still in Strictly...
  4. They should just go back to the Higher video styling. That's the best they've ever looked IMO. It's still kinda 'sexy', more cute than sexy but yeah... and that whole look is more appealing to everyone (young kids, teens and so on)... and it's not offputting to the American girls who the girls claim they want to feel like they could be friends with them. Going straight over there too sexed up wouldn't be the best idea I don't think... starting off as 'the girls next door' would be a better starting point and then easing into it or whatever. I can't help but feel they're also banking way too much on the E! show taking off, they need to promote outside of that like mad too... which is where the slight difficulty of Rochelle being up the duff comes in. It's never easy sailing with these girls is it? :P
  5. Eh? Una and Ben kinda proved it doesn't make much difference. Sure, it's tough at times and Rochelle might not be able to fly over to the US regularly in the coming months which will be a bit awkward especially as that's when their 'actual' debut starts over there but Una and Rochelle are very career driven too.. they won't give up their careers.
  6. Something New down to #3
  7. Little Mix down to #4. :( Little Things #1 Beneath Your Beautiful #2 Locked Out of Heaven #3 DNA #4
  8. iTunes keeps messing around for me at the moment - how are Little Mix and Stooshe doing? Last I was able to check DNA was around 8 (hope it climbs a bit higher and then boosts to the top, or at least #2 after the XF performance) and Stooshe were in the mid 30's... any changes?
  9. I think it's awful, and I hate to say that. :( I really don't like the production that much or the robotic na na na's, but it does stick in your head even if they are a bit too slowed down for my liking. Disappointed doesn't cover it. It sounds so basic and dull. Whoever makes their single decisions needs to be locked away, lol. It's criminal... they've got their single choices wrong time after time. This was their chance to shine and bring out something big (not big as in 'huge', but better than this), strong, unique... a song that makes a bold statement about them and gets people talking and sitting up and getting all audiences onside... and they bring this out. Lol. They're capable of much, much better and this is a bad move. This just sounds tacky, amateur and cheaply produced, doesn't sound like much of a hit let alone an international one. I hope there's far superior material on the album. The subpar 30 Days... and now this. Gawd. They're never going to reach the heights of Higher and All Fired Up again are they? Since AFU they just seem to have descended rather than continue to ascend. And should I get accused of being a 'bad fan', I'm anything but... I'm not going to pretend the sun shines out of their a*ses and pretend this is amazing or what not. Being a fan, you can disagree with their direction and decisions whether we all agree or not... doesn't mean I don't care and so on... if anything it shows I do when I'm disagreeing with their choices because I feel they can do better than this and I want them to do better and improve. I wish they'd take on feedback a bit more and wake up rather than act oblivious and continue to make the wrong moves when it's so clear to a wider audience that they've got this so wrong. They seem to settle for anything rather than push to make something truly outstanding or great, they seem to fall short most of the time. It feels like they never go that little bit further with material, it all feels a bit rigid and 'that'll do, that's fine, that's enough'. There's no real excitement or spark around them anymore. They're better than the track IMO. Fair enough if you don't agree, that's fine, we all have differing opinions and that's cool but just thought I'd say that as recently people have been jumping on members who have a slightly negative view on the girls' careers around here.
  10. Well... er, you kinda answered your own question there....

(Would embed the video but it won't show up after I've posted and entered the tags to embed it?) ^ The girls singing Chasing Lights acoustically at their debut show in America last night, Una and Mollie on the guitars.  Happy it sold out for them too. So happy they performed this, haven't heard it live for sooo long! And people say they can't sing. OKAY THEN. I really hope they show this side of them more in the States, the stripped back tracks and acoustic versions with their guitars etc. It shows their vocals off so much better than the uptempos. Well obviously it would but yeah, this is where they *really* shine vocally and performance wise. It looked so smooth and comfortable for them. They also reportedly performed Issues, Forever Is Over, Ego, One Shot, Higher, Notorious, All Fired Up, My Heart Takes Over, Get Ready, Get Set, 30 Days and What About Us. Not sure but I think they may have done Up too, maybe Work.
  12. The na na na's really should be faster and a bit more energetic.
  13. 1. All Fired Up 2. Higher 3. Notorious 4. Issues 5. Up :D 6. Ego 7. Work :) 8. Forever Is Over 9. Just Can't Get Enough 10. My Heart Takes Over 11. Missing You :puke2: 12. 30 Days 13. If This Is Love
  14. They're never going to be truly massive or be huge sellers so I'm not gonna bother myself worrying about all of that now - there was enough of that with the OYR era. From now on I'm just going to appreciate and enjoy the music, which is more important. They were with Rodney Jerkins yesterday. Telephone Part II please. :D
  15. On Your Radar > Chasing Lights > Wordshaker. I don't count Headlines as an album really but if I have to, I'd put it after Chasing Lights and before Wordshaker.
  16. I don't want it on the album, it might mean missing out on a recent track they've recorded (greedy, perhaps :P). At best they can put it on a deluxe version of the album or something...
  17. Leona Lewis - Glassheart (Deluxe Edition) Brandy - Two Eleven Might pick up Dragonette's Bodyparts, No Doubt's Push & Shove and Mumford's Babel too, been meaning to get those three.
  18. Yeah that's the website where I tried to listen to them, but there's just white gaps seperated between each remix title. Is that the same for anyone else?
  19. Apparently the remixes of What About Us have leaked. They also seem to be on some music blog sites and fansites but I can't click to play them, the space where the music player should be is just a white rectangular space instead. Boo. :(

I hope things start moving quickly soon for them stateside, obviously it'll all kick off around January but hopefully they manage to have some success before Little Mix head over there and blow up (probably around April/May/summer if they're following 1D's timeframe which they seem to be - summer single, November single/album, January/February tour... then heading to the US after). I love both groups but I don't 'connect'/identify with LM like I do with The Sats though (corny I know haha) and it is a little disheartening to watch LM explode with all the hype and interest while The Sats just plod along. I'd like for them to both make it in the US but can't see it happening. Little Mix probably have the edge with US potential with Wings and DNA, their image, wider appeal and the team behind them. They'll be massive globally. Can't help but feel like they'll overshadow and probably kill off The Sats out there and here, back at home...? I think Little Mix will have the 1D style success and The Sats with The Wanted's type success (though I'd rather it be the other way round haha). It's about the music for me but I just wish we could celebrate the girls for once and have a truly successful album campaign, there's never much to be really happy about with their sales or overall success so I just want them to be huge as they deserve to be but also so we can finally celebrate kinda instead of being full of hope and disappointment... 'oh, it's okay', 'maybe next time' and 'it's not bad' at the end of each era... if that makes sense. I hate comparing but I will be here ha... I just listened to DNA and then What About Us, there's so much more energy/life/strength and thought been put into DNA.. it's interesting to listen to it.. it does sound like a huge hit compared to What About Us, it sounds so average and dull from the live versions. :( Obviously we don't have the studio version of What About Us but some of the live videos are pretty clear in sound quality so I doubt there will be much difference. Sats need something like DNA/Wings - not outright carbon copies sonically but just a track that truly showcases their vocals and makes a statement about them. Wings is like an updated version of Spice Girls' Wannabe but not a blatant copy, it's unique but has similar elements - just my opinion and I'm sure many won't agree haha but yeah... The Sats need a song like that, though maybe it was Higher. What About Us doesn't sound like people will take notice of them out there or think 'wow, they've arrived'. It doesn't have that effect. On me, anyway lol. They need to step it up to compete. Anyhow, hopefully America takes to The Sats, early signs seem good but it's whether they can sustain that and translate it into 'sales'. Hopefully they get some decent TV promo too. They were back in the studio with The Jam yesterday after two days of recording/writing with Diane Warren looking on their official twitter. Sounds like Diane wrote at least 3 songs for/with them. If it all falls flat on the US front and the album doesn't do well neither there or here at home (at home it probably won't, this is The Sats after all, meh), then what do they do? Bow out after a hits compilation next year? 5/6 years together is a nice run but I want them to carry on and keep giving us music, I wouldn't care if it sold truck loads (that would be nice, don't get me wrong :P) or sold 10 copies, it's about the music for me... but it's whether that's feasible from a label perspective, right?
  21. Thought I'd bump this thread since we can now definitely add Diane Warren and Darkchild to the list of who's working with the girls on the new album. Interested to see if they've got any other American producers/writers lined up. :)
  22. ^ He interviewed them last week. Last Friday (14th) to be exact. He met them in New York, the day they flew back home. Gaaah, going off on a tangent here but it's sad seeing negative comments about the girls anywhere haha. I try to ignore them but it's pathetic how much what they say bothers me lol. It seems some people suddenly have mystic powers and can see the future when they start sounding off how they're going to be huge flops in the US, it'll be embarrassing for them, questioning why they're even bothering and so on etc. Island Def Jam/Mercury are under the Universal Records umbrella aren't they? Or are they seperate?
  23. Here you go... :)
  24. Albums Pink - The Truth About Love (Deluxe) Nelly Furtado - The Spirit Indestructible (Deluxe) Carly Rae Jepsen - Kiss (Deluxe) The Killers - Battle Born (Deluxe)
  25. Hmm, I bought the deluxe version today but Big Hoops seems to finish abruptly at 3:47 when the iTunes store page for the album lists it as 3:52 in length so it seems like there's a few seconds missing from the end of the song... unless iTunes have it wrong lol or whether it's meant to sound like that or not I don't know but it doesn't sound like the end of the song. Just wondered if that was the same for anyone else? (I have OCD when it comes to things like this haha). Nice album though. Spirit Indestructible, Parking Lot, Waiting for the Night and End of the World are my favourites so far. Like Miracles, Circles and Believers too.
