I get that they were really nervous but that wasn't a good performance at all. They also need to hurry the hell up and send this song to radios before it's too late and the momentum they seem to have going right now falls completely flat. What are they playing at not sending it to radio yet?? Surely Mercury/Def Jam, their US label, know how key radio airplay is, more so than a few TV promo slots over there? Baffled.

This is going surprisingly well, especially considering the song was lingering in the mid 500's yesterday on the main US iTunes right? Let's hope the momentum keeps going. I like to think management chose this song as lead single/international debut simply for the irony of the title on their discography list (should it all go well). :P 'What About Us'... as though the girls are asking the US/Canada/rest of world 'What About Us??' before the *real* second single smash haha (hopefully that's why and they've much higher standard material... though this track has crept up on me out of nowhere and grown on me leaps and bounds). The last minute of the song is pure brilliance.

Big jump on Canada main iTunes chart - from #189 to #125 :) The Queens are coming... (for now :P).

I'm confused... how do you view beyond the top 200 songs on iTunes US/Canada/generally?? :blush:

Jay Leno is a great coup. I hope they can get on other shows like Ellen/Letterman/Good Morning America/Saturday Night Live too at some point. Maybe a bit ambitious for now but hopefully further down the line should they take off. Exciting times. :) I really hope the US take to them.

They need to get over there and do radio tours all over the US. They need to realise they can't just set up camp in LA/New York for weeks at a time and not bother going anywhere else in the States. They need to be everywhere. Hell, even do performances and signings in shopping malls or whatever, not just interviews on other small E! shows. I get the feeling they're going to be relying on their show far too much.

Lol I did overreact a bit I admit... :blush: but he really isn't being realistic trying to make out the song is going to pretty much flop on US iTunes on the first day of release when the girls have done no promo or anything out there... that's realistic is it? Bit puzzled if you seem to think that comes under being 'realistic' and pretty much saying it's over before it's started.... pretty sure he has no mystic powers and can forecast the future. Shock horror, they may have a chance and actually do quite well out there, more so than they do well here, then again may not at all... nobody knows until next year. There's nothing wrong with the girls being determined and wanting to do well and further themselves by making things work out there... why shouldn't they give it a go? The time is right, there's no girl group there currently, the US are having a bit of a love in for British artists over there right now... and even if it fails, they tried... jeez, what's wrong with people wanting to do well and try their luck? It makes sense, whether it all goes to plan or not. :blink: And I have never made out they're *huge*, and I'm really not delusional (maybe just a little :P). They're middling in terms of success... never hitting the big time, never having solid album sales/campaign since Chasing Lights, they just coast along. I'm sorry but they're not outright unsuccessful.... 3 million records is not unsuccessful. Yeah, the girls aren't major sellers or one of the big guns on the UK pop scene - and they probably never will be - but they're not completely unsuccessful. People are far too quick to belittle the girls and label them a flop at any opportunity. To me, that defines the likes of Parade with their album just making top 200 and a single just making top 40. I do worry for them this era though after the sales of 30 Days and I don't think What About Us is going to have a positive impact for them. If America doesn't work out and things don't improve this era back here then I do think they'll split next year but we'll wait and see, nobody knows what's going to happen.

I do not get why you bother coming to this fan forum when you don't even like them - you've come here previously over and over slating them... why bother following their career if all you're gonna do is be bitter and just slate them? How sad and petty. You must lead a fun life if this is all you do. I don't like the song but seriously... it's had no radio premiere nor impacted radios in the States, no widespread promo, no nothing... it's hardly going to catapult to the top 40 in the first day of release when only a handful of people know them at present. It takes time for songs in the US to take off, nothing is decided on the first day of release especially in this instance whether it goes well or all goes tits up for them. And if 11 top 10 singles and around 3 million records sold in the UK is them being unsuccessful. Sure, they're not massive or huge sellers here but they've done alright for themselves. And I can't at your username, maybe instead of mouthing off far too prematurely, sort your username out.

I liked hearing the All Fired Up instrumental in the background when Dermot was talking on The X Factor final weekend on both nights.

Hate that they seem to get so many bitchy comments and hate when they are such lovely, genuine and down to earth girls. Also, when they played Wembley on the All Fired Up tour. Electric atmosphere, and you could see they were loving every minute of it and how much it meant to them to be up on that stage.

Alicia only #14?! Deserves higher, a brilliant album. Little Mix not doing as well as I thought they would be... I'm surprised. I thought they'd be the girl group version of 1D. DNA (single) only 1 week top 10, and now the album straight down to #12 from #3... hopefully it can climb back up?

They should just go back to the Higher video styling. That's the best they've ever looked IMO. It's still kinda 'sexy', more cute than sexy but yeah... and that whole look is more appealing to everyone (young kids, teens and so on)... and it's not offputting to the American girls who the girls claim they want to feel like they could be friends with them. Going straight over there too sexed up wouldn't be the best idea I don't think... starting off as 'the girls next door' would be a better starting point and then easing into it or whatever. I can't help but feel they're also banking way too much on the E! show taking off, they need to promote outside of that like mad too... which is where the slight difficulty of Rochelle being up the duff comes in. It's never easy sailing with these girls is it? :P

Eh? :blink: Una and Ben kinda proved it doesn't make much difference. Sure, it's tough at times and Rochelle might not be able to fly over to the US regularly in the coming months which will be a bit awkward especially as that's when their 'actual' debut starts over there but Una and Rochelle are very career driven too.. they won't give up their careers.

iTunes keeps messing around for me at the moment - how are Little Mix and Stooshe doing? Last I was able to check DNA was around 8 (hope it climbs a bit higher and then boosts to the top, or at least #2 after the XF performance) and Stooshe were in the mid 30's... any changes?

I think it's awful, and I hate to say that. :( I really don't like the production that much or the robotic na na na's, but it does stick in your head even if they are a bit too slowed down for my liking. Disappointed doesn't cover it. It sounds so basic and dull. Whoever makes their single decisions needs to be locked away, lol. It's criminal... they've got their single choices wrong time after time. This was their chance to shine and bring out something big (not big as in 'huge', but better than this), strong, unique... a song that makes a bold statement about them and gets people talking and sitting up and getting all audiences onside... and they bring this out. Lol. They're capable of much, much better and this is a bad move. This just sounds tacky, amateur and cheaply produced, doesn't sound like much of a hit let alone an international one. I hope there's far superior material on the album. The subpar 30 Days... and now this. Gawd. They're never going to reach the heights of Higher and All Fired Up again are they? Since AFU they just seem to have descended rather than continue to ascend. And should I get accused of being a 'bad fan', I'm anything but... I'm not going to pretend the sun shines out of their a*ses and pretend this is amazing or what not. Being a fan, you can disagree with their direction and decisions whether we all agree or not... doesn't mean I don't care and so on... if anything it shows I do when I'm disagreeing with their choices because I feel they can do better than this and I want them to do better and improve. I wish they'd take on feedback a bit more and wake up rather than act oblivious and continue to make the wrong moves when it's so clear to a wider audience that they've got this so wrong. They seem to settle for anything rather than push to make something truly outstanding or great, they seem to fall short most of the time. It feels like they never go that little bit further with material, it all feels a bit rigid and 'that'll do, that's fine, that's enough'. There's no real excitement or spark around them anymore. They're better than the track IMO. Fair enough if you don't agree, that's fine, we all have differing opinions and that's cool but just thought I'd say that as recently people have been jumping on members who have a slightly negative view on the girls' careers around here.

So happy they performed this, haven't heard it live for sooo long! And people say they can't sing. OKAY THEN. I really hope they show this side of them more in the States, the stripped back tracks and acoustic versions with their guitars etc. It shows their vocals off so much better than the uptempos. Well obviously it would but yeah, this is where they *really* shine vocally and performance wise. It looked so smooth and comfortable for them. They also reportedly performed Issues, Forever Is Over, Ego, One Shot, Higher, Notorious, All Fired Up, My Heart Takes Over, Get Ready, Get Set, 30 Days and What About Us. Not sure but I think they may have done Up too, maybe Work.
