Still #14 on mine.. hope it'll update soon! Glad it's climbing, I was really worried/sad (yeah, sad I know ) seeing it glued to #23 last night. I wonder how big a gap it is between #13 and #10 now. EDIT: Yup, showing as #13 now for me. Fingers crossed it keeps climbing...

iTunes Chart: November 2011 (II)
Really hope so. If they get to the top 10 somehow tomorrow it could get the exposure boost what with the top 10 being listed on the iTunes store hompage. Worked for Flo Rida who's jumped up to #5 from #8.

I know I'm overreacting but it really feels like everything is falling apart for them now. :(

I remember in one of the first flips of this year, Frankie said something along the lines of 2011 being the year of The Sats. If only. :( Love the girls but there's never much to celebrate or shout off the rootops being a Sats fan, as soon as you think it's safe to start getting comfortable and properly enjoying their success, something comes along and mucks it all up haha. Like waiting for a bus that never comes. Or as Mollie said on What Goes On Tour, 'always a bridesmaid, never a bride'! They've had good moments too though and they've achieved a fair bit even if there have been not so good moments. The arena tour will be great and it'll be nice to watch them be thrilled they're playing arenas on stage.

One Direction #2 Flo Rida #5 - looks like the top 10 exposure has paid off for him. I didn't even know he had a song out, and it's had next to no airplay! The Saturdays #16 (and #76) Anyway, promo... nothing scheduled until Friday. 1st November - Oxford Street Xmas Lights 6th November - Alan Carr - Channel 4 - 10.00pm 14th November - Daybreak - ITV1 - from 6.00am 18th November - Loose Women - ITV1 - from 12.30pm 18th November – Sam & Mark’s Big Friday Windup – CBBC – 6.00pm 18th November – Children In Need – BBC1 – Program starts at 7.00pm, the girls are listed to be on after 10.35pm (at time of writing) 19th November – Album Chart Show Special – Channel 4 – 11.20am – set to perform songs from the new album 20th November - The Xtra Factor - ITV2 - 9.00pm Xtra Factor ratings slumped from 1.1m to 479k last night. Guess it's better than nothing though.

If only this was sitting around 11-12 by now, they'd probably climb into the top 10 by this evening and then potentially get the top 10 exposure from the iTunes store homepage boost. Ah well.

It really is. They're kinda stuck in limbo with radio at the mo, and this was even with a radio tour. iTunes update: One Direction #2 Flo Rida #8 The Saturdays #16 (and #75)

On Your Radar (4th Studio Album Discussion)
Sales for this weeks albums (just thought people might be interested - taken from the Sales thread in the chart forum) Not sure on sales figures for the artists without the figure next to their names. Looking at these sales, this week it took 40k+ for number 7 and up, which I can't see On Your Radar doing... I know it's different release weeks and artists obviously but it's still a potentially helpful guideline.. think we're realistically looking at positions 8-11 with 35k sales max? 1 Susan Boyle 72,745 2 Michael Buble 61,535 3 Florence + The Machine 58,278 4 Cher Lloyd 55,668 5 The Wanted 47,530 6 Coldplay 7 Andre Rieu 40,321 8 Noel Gallagher 9 Adele 10 Ed Sheeran 11 Bruno Mars 12 Alfie Boe 13 Birdy 18,069 14 Pink Floyd 16,832 15 Professor Green 16 Simon & Garfunkel 12,550

If they want a shot at top 10 I think they should drop the price and fast. Whilst there's no guarantee it'd do much for it, but you've got David Guetta and Usher's track 'Without You' that got reduced to 59p and it shot up to the top 3/4 on iTunes this week. Plus it helped Notorious rise back into the top 20 when it was falling at one point too. At least it's slowly rising. I'll be SO frustrated/gutted/sad if this charts at #11 of all places. Also, with the poor airplay (like, literally no airplay bar Radio 1) - how do the girls get that back? :(

My Heart Takes Over (3rd Single Discussion Thread)
I don't necessarily think they've lost their 'crown', I think perhaps people outside the core fanbase might not be that aware they've a new single out, radio airplay has been poor, and perhaps people can't take to the song for some reason. I'm not sure. It's weird because usually their fanbase gets them into the top 10 no problem, so it must just be a massively competitive release week and trying to break into the top 20 is proving difficult. Either way though I'm dreading the album release now. But there always have to be some negativity/stress associated with a Sats release and this is it for MHTO! Nothing is ever straightforward with these five. :P Anyway, it's #17 on iTunes.. and the second version is now falling - it's #73 (was #64) now so I guess it'll only fall more so not helping much when combining the two versions. :( Just performed on Daybreak. Frankie wasn't there - Roch said something along the lines of they're resting her for the tour. One Direction #2 Flo Rida #10 The Sats #17 Daybreak is their only public promo until Friday.... unless they find last minute promo but I doubt there will be much going. :(

Just for possible comparison, different situations etc but Pixie was around #11 this time last week with 'What Do You Take Me For?' on iTunes and she only ended up officially charting at #10 tonight, so I'd say charting in the top 10 for the girls is near on impossible now, they're at #21 currently on iTunes. Nevermind, least we have the tour to look forward to I guess. :)

^ Bugger. :( Not much else we can do then really, other than hope! Haha. :( Just feels like the rest of this era is going to go horribly wrong now.

Won't they combine the sales from both versions?

My Heart Takes Over (3rd Single Discussion Thread)
If things stay as they are, should they consider a price drop during the week perhaps? It's a tricky one. It's disappointing but the fact it's taken One Direction practically all day to get into the top 10 shows how hard a climb it's been for everyone today, plus airplay bar Radio 1 plugging it has been terrible so that won't have helped in getting the song noticed. Hopefully things might pick up tomorrow.. So gutted. :( They've got Daybreak tomorrow morning - does that usually provide a decent boost?
-
iTunes Chart: November 2011
It's taken One Direction pretty much all day to climb into the top 10. The Sats were never going to get anywhere near if it's taken them all day to get up there.

My Heart Takes Over (3rd Single Discussion Thread)
But weren't the pre-orders for AFU were listed as a single rather than a EP and thus that's why it got such a strong headstart? Because it never once showed up in the albums chart as a pre-order and we always wondered why that never happened. I think that's what someone said in the Chart forum anyhow. I think this has followed a similar release day pattern to Notorious and Missing You, albeit a little slower a climb... plus with competition from previous weeks it was bound to be hard. Especially if One Direction have struggled to break into the top 10 all day, and only just made it in there now! Crossing everything it continues to climb and hopefully sneak in there anyway!
