Cheers for that - it makes good sense. It's just kind of weird that singles sales really started to take off as the country went deeper and deeper into recession! But I guess 79p or whatever isn't much to pay for a track, compared to £3.99 10 or 15 years ago!

Maybe this is an ignorant question, but why exactly were singles sales so bad 2003-2007ish?

Don't suppose you have rough TD sales for Waka Waka, VC? I remember it passing 200k last year (about May, maybe?). Just curious as it's one of those big sellers which kind of flopped in the weekly rankings! It's weird to think, though, how many others now fall into this category too. When I began watching the charts in about 1994, it was pretty much historic if a non-T20 hit sold over 100k never mind 200k, 250k or even 300k!

So if Whole Again has sold 980k and Fight For This Love is a place higher, it must be very close to the mill...

Have to disagree over the 'hot' argument, though - I'd never have collected all of Upside Down's hits had they been boggers! haha.

Stop thinking about it as 'his version of someone else's song'. Just think about it as his own song and enjoy it for what it is - pure pop! :-)

I thought they could've spent a bit more on the video, though. It does come across as a bit cheap - and all that finger-clicking is a bit naff. Love the track, though!

Is 21's massive success all the more bizarre given how the album has only spawned three hit singles? Most of the other albums here seem to be brimming with classics!

Have to disagree - I LOVE Marcus's version of 7 nation army. The original was terrible!
