  1. I'm still shocked at how an album promoted through five singles, one of them being the band's biggest hit, launched off the back of a top5 single, could sell so badly. The 'good' thing about it is that all the people who lost track of the girls from the On Your Radar era-onwards have a lot of material to discover on this GH album. That's at least SEVEN singles (considering they probably own WAU already) plus three new tracks that they aren't too familiar with outside of Youtube or the random play at the radio. It should be really appealing to the 100k people who bought Headlines! but didn't purchase their following albums.
  2. I don't know if it's just part of British humour, but comments like this come across as unnecessarily cruel.
  3. It's a bit sad they had to offer the discounts, but in the end, the tour is selling. They'll make a bit of money and more people will listen to their songs. Yeah, I think I remember people mentioning that back then.
  4. Well, that's a nice effect so far.
  5. Yeah...people. But I guess at least the performance was noticed.
  6. Considering how low their sales are at the moment, even 3 million alone would make a very nice group of potential buyers.
  7. I don't expect any miracles, but I hope the performance will encourage some of the people who bought their most popular albums or singles to get the GH as a way to check out what they've been missing.
  8. :o :o This may actually be pretty great.
  9. Well, at least is not free falling. The mere fact that is still in the top100 is pretty great, actually, considering their precedents and some of the recent releases.

  11. Work/What About Us. Both very nice songs, but we need to choose one...
  12. But this whole thing comes from our wish that other people shared our own interests...as fans, what else could we ask? they make great music, they have released way more albums than the average of groups, they treat us with special editions, they go on tour regularly, they are the absolute nicest girls in the world...You can fully enjoy the group even if you don't care about their sales.
  13. They've put banners with the previous two albums...I would be surprised if they don't do the same with this one.
  14. Damn it, Finest Selection, get in the top100 already! :banghead:
  15. I'm actually surprised at the success of the deluxe edition. I know it's a great deal, but I wouldn't have guessed people would be so willing to get all 39 tracks.
  16. I'm so glad for Lose Control! Such a gem from their early days.
  17. I hope they can appeal with this to the people who bought Chasing Lights or Headlines! and didn't keep on purchasing their following material. It's a great deal if you want to check out what you've been missing.
  18. I do think the end is very near, but I'm OK with that. I know they haven't really depended on sales, but they have been getting top10s very consistently and that allowed them to keep a respectable profile. This airplay issue is very serious, because...it's very hard to overcome, especially in the UK. And we have seen that with the dozens of acts that have broke through and disappeared while The Saturdays were still trying to get a #1. Just look at poor Pixie Lott; it seems like it was yesterday when she was blocking All Fired Up out of the top, and now her latest single hasn't even entered the top100! I was reading Danity Kane's news and I was thinking how damn lucky we've been as a fanbase to have these girls as our idols. They have gone through very serious problems: Vanessa's issues, Frankie's depression, those THREE pregnancies...and they've been able to make it work, somehow. I look at other groups (not even all of those that also formed after 2008 and have disbanded already!) and I think we've been just so damn lucky they have released so many albums, seen how they updated their sound time after time and even got a GH with the b-sides.
  19. I would love to see the faces of the casual listeners when they get to the 13th track of the GH and think "THIS IS f***ING AMAZING!"
  20. I'm SO happy they included the b-sides. They flow very well in that order and many of them are very good. It's like having an extra Saturdays album. It's funny that both parts of the GH end with a cover: Just Can't Get Enough and When Love Takes Over.
  21. Not Giving Up and What Are You Waiting For? should be higher.
  22. From what I've read, you are not the only one.
  23. But it's a good way to measure the interest of the public.
  24. The guests don't play their own songs. You can see the past playlists on the Radio 1 website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01ryt1j Funnily enough, Lily Allen did play The Saturdays during his session on the last show.
  25. Yes, they count towards the charts, and the group also gets revenue for them. That was a long time ago. Now there's no limit to the times you can play a song or the number of minutes you can play each week.
