Melanie C - 'Stages'
It was a nice way to get a studio version of the songs she had performed in the theater and some of the covers she sang at the time. It's pretty much a representation of that era in the form of an album so I'm not mad at it. I don't return often to it but every now and then I'd give a listen to I don't know how to love him, Both Sides Now, Ain't Got No, I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself...also You'll Never Walk Alone is literally my most played b-side. Lovely.

Summer 2023 Dates
Is anyone else getting an error when trying to buy the tickets for Belfast on Ticketmaster? Are the sold via any other distributor? Edit: I managed to get them this morning!

The Lost Tapes Cup - FINALS
I think Flatline encapsulates very well all the different rhythms and influences that can be heard along the rest of the album. It's a very good representation of their sound.

REDEMPTION
Didn't they imply that the leaks came from someone (I imagine it's this "him" she is referring to) sabotaging them and not from fans?

The Essential Sugababes - 3CD Compilation
In my opinion this goes to show how damaged the Sugababes brand became by the end of it all, beyond any member combination.

One Touch - 20th Anniversary Re-Issue
This is a great in-depth exploration of the era. We get to hear what else they recorded and how different their sound could have gone with the alternate versions, and even got what would have been the fifth single with the 2001 version of Just Let It Go. Everything feels really essential, like the original album is just music, but this edition tells the whole story of their origin.

Listen Through ~ One Touch 20th Anniversary Edition
All the extra material is incredibly strong. Like, to me their b-sides have always been hit and miss no matter the era, so I was expecting some nice outtakes, but not a full alternative version of One Touch that is just as good as the original. I can't believe they've been sitting on this for 2 decades.

1.0 on the cover of Spotify's Throwback Thursday!
Absolutely, for a group as big as them with 3M+ followers, it was absurd that it looked like that, but I guess they were waiting for them to become 'active' again...this is so exciting! :w00t: Also their love for the MKS era, either Flatline or their photos of that time, has no boundaries. It has a cute feeling of reparation for the hardships in that time.

1.0 on the cover of Spotify's Throwback Thursday!
Hopefully this means their management or the label are pulling some decent strings to promote the release.

How are you preparing for OT20?
I listen to One Touch and some other group singles, but I admit that I'm super excited for Siobhan's return to music, so I play her albums a lot. Specially the new edition of Revolution in Me since it's a great follow up to OT.

Will it arrive on release day?
Yeah I'm not sure about remastered and expanded editions like One Touch, but I wouldn't be surprised if Island takes the opportunity to release some of the other albums in vinyl. If One Touch sells reasonably well considering that it wasn't a big hit in its day, the others will do good business as well. And besides, I doubt the label needs much or any involvement of the girls for those. Just don't expect any signed editions.

One Touch - 20th Anniversary Re-Issue
The mug includes a download code though, so it's a nice way to get a new sale.

All 27 singles ranked definitively from worst to best
I did hate No Can Do at the time, but I've found a new appreciation for it over the years. It's a nice list. Sure it has questionable choices but that's the point of it. Loving Flatline and Denial so high, but Get Sexy should be in the pits of hell.

Same Old Story (Blood Orange Remix)
This is doing better than I expected on streaming.

Siobhan Donaghy \ Ghosts - A Decade On
Reading this section of the Wikipedia article is so heartbreaking: The album was the subject of a manufacturing error just prior to its release, with Donaghy later confirming, "When Ghosts came out, it didn't go on a new release shelf in any shop because it got delivered and there'd been a mistake on the production line. I've never heard the music that was on the CDs, but it wasn't my album. When the stores were told about it, the album was lifted off the shelves and taken back. By the time it was ready, a lot of the stores didn't take it back because they were pissed off." Siobhan is seriously due for a commercial reckoning.

Revolution in Me (Collector's Edition)
Yeah  It's pretty incredible Revolution got this treatment considering other much, much more successful albums get forgotten, but hey, this timeline might not be so bad after all. Siobhan even mentioned it on social media. @1390000670598643715

Revolution in Me (Collector's Edition)
A week before the reveal of the One Touch re-release London Recordings released a new version of Siobhan's solo debut. The new edition includes b-sides and new edits of the singles, some of them available in digital now for the first time. Here is the album on Spotify: While we wait for the One Touch re-release it is a very good time to revisit this great album, which to me it sounds very much like a successor.

Run For Cover (MNEK Remix) \ OT (20) - Hype track
The remix has been included in a couple of Spotify playlists: New Dance Revolution, The Bop List, apart from Sugababes' and MNEK's "This is" playlists, so hopefully it will make some decent numbers in the run towards the album release.

Melanie C - Chart Discussion Thread
I think people give way too much importance to whether the album spends a second week in the charts or not. Charting at...#90, for example, is not going to make the difference between a successful campaign or not. Likewise, it may not make sense for her to put the album on sale if it means to get less money per copy. The casual public at large is not going to buy an album in 2020, they will listen on Spotify and if they spend any money they will rather pay a streaming subscription. Streaming, thankfully, has gone really well for her this era, with at least three singles crossing the 1 million mark already/very soon. Four if we count High Heels. That's where her efforts to gain new listeners should go. She knows that most of the physical albums are going to sell on the first week, and she will have made arrangements for that. I can't imagine she still has a room full of unsold copies.

Una for Eurovision ?
I'm surprised I didn't come across this rumor earlier. To be honest it's not at all unrealistic considering she's a pretty well known face in Ireland without actually having a big profile to risk or to demand a high check. Now, I'm not sure she would be a great fit for the festival. I feel like she shines the most in intimate environments (after all her only solo hit is a ballad), where she can control her voice and make it sound beautiful, but it's not easy for a song like Strangers to grab much attention. Still I guess something like Battlelines or Never See Me Cry could also work. She probably wouldn't be able to make her schedule work with her new radio show though, even if it's only once a week. (Just realized that RTE has already chosen Sarah McTernan for Eurovision, still this applies to future editions as well).

Una Healy - Strangers
I agree that this is probably her best solo song to date. It's funny that while the commercial timing of this release is impeccable, with her being one of the new faces of the UK's first country radio station, it also feels completely organic considering the events that inspired it. It's getting a lot of attention from celebs news websites, now it only needs to be picked up by a few decent Spotify playlists.

The Saturdays iTunes & Spotify Watch // Part 8
Thanks for the detailed update! Am I right thinking that My Heart Takes Over has made more money on streaming than with actual sales?

Mollie King
Turns out it's just for a month, but it's still good exposure and more importantly, a great connection with Radio 1.
