  2. Oh woah  that's pretty impressive considering the group had much bigger promotion and fanbase. It doesn't mean much in money terms, but it's an accomplishment.
  3. I expect that too. Which is very good for a girlband member gone solo. Apparently it's #15 in the first midweeks.
  4. Well, I doubt she would use the words bop or banger, but if she promised some uptempo pop tracks...she delivered. Battlelines, The Waiting Game, SOS, Staring at the Moon, Alarm Bells...that's half the album being uptempo. And some of the other songs are more midtempo than ballads. The album is an inoffensive country-pop collection (it's more acoustic than country anyway, isn't it?), which is what she's been talking about all this time. Battlelines is pretty great. For me the next great solo-Saturdays song after Back To You.
  5. Why are you so eager to believe blindly that they are still somehow an active group despite many facts pointing to the contrary, but you rush in to say that Una has "officially" left based only on your imagination? Why do you need to single Una out when she isn't even the first one to publish solo music? Vanessa has already gone solo, Rochelle has even left Fascination and got a new management for her own. Damn, just blame all of them. The five of them dissolved their own company and divided the money. You talk about realism and then you make up a scenario when one of them has to beg to come back to The Saturdays (of all groups) for money...open your eyes, none of them will sell music unless there's a major surprise. Not solo, not in a group. It's just bizarre how a Saturdays fan can attack any of the girls so viciously for not selling, when we have lived through more flops than hits through their history. How can someone not understand at this point that there are more reasons to release music other than making big sums of money? That small releases paired with other endeavours can also be profitable? That a passion of music can make up for the lack of success?
  6. What are you talking about? In what world do you live in that The Saturdays are still together? And at the same time how do you realize that she's going solo now, when she already performed one of the songs on The Voice of Ireland months ago? And what is this bitterness that makes you say that she will flop hard? Open your eyes, man: The Saturdays flop hard, Vanessa flops hard, everyone from this group is more likely to flop hard than not. But she wants to give it a shot with the music she's written because that's her passion. You would think that following this group would teach you to respect other people and don't laugh at those acts who don't sell well, but man, some people just want to spread their hate.
  7. Really!? That would be very nice. Still, it is supposed to be a "music announcement" IIRC, so I expect something about the album.
  8. Not releasing the track has to be a conscious decision, because they have taken off iTunes and Spotify her Sorry EP, so they are definitely not interested in the revenue they could get until they launch the campaign in full force.
  9. Good to hear! Did you speak to Peter or Adam? They do seem to still be involved in her management.
  10. Love it!
  11. I only watched the last 30 seconds, but I liked what I heard. It was more upbeat than I expected.
  12. I'm so excited for this!!! :yahoo: This is going to be a good year, with 3/5 Saturdays releasing music. It must be part of the deal with the label. If I recall correctly, she signed the contract pretty late in the recording process, so she must have put most of the album together by herself. Or think of All Saints as an example, when their new single didn't chart in the top100, but the album was released anyway.
  13. It's more likely to be the address of her legal representation, in case someone needs to get in contact with her.
  14. Keisha is officially the owner of the Sugababes brand in the US now: http://tsdr.uspto.gov/documentviewer?caseI...ex=0&page=1 That document has been signed today, so the websites will take a few days to present the new status. The application for the rights to use the name in the EU is still going: http://trademark.markify.com/trademarks/ct...babes/014770408

The drop was severed because of all of those David Bowie albums re-entering the chart. I believe they have 12-13 Bowie albums above them.
  16. It's ridiculous to think that Emma "has" to work for Heart. None of them needs to work ever again, especially since the 2007 tour and the high-profile gigs they have done since then. Besides, having a public job is not the only way to make money. There are investments and businesses. If Keisha Buchanan (for the sake of mentioning a girlband member who is not regularly in the public eye) can live a comfortable life, any Spice Girl can do it as well.
  17. There's a difference between "being dropped" and simply fulfilling your contract, which is the most likely scenario. I think they will reunite at some point, but more like in the way Blue did, doing the album by themselves and then letting the label publishing it. In their business the albums are more like an excuse to put themselves out there and get those endorsements, so that's all they need. I voted for 2018, all five of them, and for a single, EP and tour, although now I'm actually more convinced they will release an album. They don't need to say anything. We are all smart enough to realize that at the very least the GH wrapped up the main part of their career, and if there are more things coming in the future they will be few and with a long time in between. They won't split because that has legal repercussions. They would need to sign papers to dissolve their association like Girls Aloud did. And that is silly considering they do are willing to work again if the opportunity comes along. So in the end they are saying the truth.

The video is a surprisingly big production for a song that is going to sell so little.

Yeah, I didn't expect their comeback to be this successful. Hopefully a new single and the tour can give it a new push in sales.

I was expecting an even worse chart run! Specially considering their catalogue has not received a lot of attention in the years after the break, and that Bring on the Night was being largely ignored on iTunes and Spotify. Stay would be a good choice for Eurovision. It's distinctively Irish, it's different but at the same time easy to listen. The instrumental part is very catchy and could be remembered by the public no matter their language. I actually think it would work better in Eurovision than as a standalone single, since their biggest hits, minus Runaway, tend to sound more electronic. I doubt they would do it, but I think they could really benefit from the exposure of Eurovision and taking back their European fanbase. It's not even a matter of winning; the mere news of them participating would get a big reception and draw a lot of attention on the new album from old fans in places like Spain, where they were HUGE.
  21. God, I love her so much.
  22. I really hope she will use the new series of The Voice of Ireland (which premieres tonight, by the way) as a platform to promote her music. 2016 could be very exciting if we get releases from Vanessa, Una and Mollie.

The album is performing surprisingly well. It repeated the #17 position in the UK in its third week and it's been certified silver. Three weeks in the top20 during Christmas is very respectable. In Ireland they climbed from #25 to #18. They are also close to selling out the O2 (there are only VIP tickets left), so it seems like the promo and word of mouth have had an effect on ticket sales.

Yeah, a week ago I was expecting something like #28, so that's really good. Still, I'm annoyed they missed the top10 for so little.

Down to #7, which is still great. And it has two compilations above, so they are actually #5. I just think they are too high not to re-enter the top10 by tomorrow. If sales on iTunes are strong, physicals must be even stronger. Yeah I see your point. To be honest I had to google Edith Grove and paper money to make sure they were talking about death.
