Nadine Coyle - Fool for Love
She would be amazing to be fair...and it'd get her some international exposure across Europe too..
-
Westlife - Spectrum
Yeah, like Simon Cowell is gonna let Westlife perform on XF without being on his label anymore....

Love it!

Emma Bunton - Chart Discussion Thread
She's reduced the album to £5 on Amazon/Sainsburys hence why it's gone up. What are the total sales for it?

Surprised Will Young isn't doing better with 'All The Songs' on radio (not tv, video sucks). It's a great song...

James Arthur - Falling Like The Stars
Taken a while to get a new album from him! Back From The Edge was a good-un. The interest is there for him so i can't imagine SYCO delaying things any further providing this new single does well.

I'm not not sure i entirely believe that. I can think the only reason this has been put back by one week is to avoid a chart battle with Madonna for No.1. They do care about the chart position. A No.1 album on the UK Albums Chart would be a good feat for him to promote with and wouldn't be something i'd rule out as impossible - i mean pretty much all 85% Proof had going for it was that it gone to No.1. I highly doubt come June he won't doing any tv promo....i see him promoting it definitely. Cooking Vinyl isn't a major label, so i understand the sales expectations are lower....i think he'll easily sell enough to keep them happy which is good...it'll give him a stable and consistent home for his music for the next stage of his career and unlike the juggernaut Universal Island who weren't content with 80k album sales it's more suited, i wouldn't however do it down as a completely independent label either, i'd say it's somewhere in the middle - their roaster includes Groove Armada, Alison Moyet, Lucy Spraggan, Maximo Park, Marilyn Manson, Nina Nesbitt, Passenger, Starsailor, The Cranberries, The Darkness, The Proclaimers and TLC. I imagine they are more encouraging and allow greater creativity than a major label hence the acts they have signed...

Wise decision! It's a very competitive week. He'd be Top 10 at most, that for a artist whose every studio album has charted within the Top 2 would be a failure.

Olly Murs - You Know I Know
Quite funny really that wasn't even on the standard album and yet it's the most famous song on there now! Whoah 4 billion streams is amazing, but the Spotify total don't reflect that? Do they have their own streaming service over there...

Emma Bunton - Chart Discussion Thread
Either way she sold less 1,000 copies week 2. The physical/sales chart should be a better reflection of it's true chart run...she's never gonna do well in streaming. I doubt BMG will want to continue with her as overall sales won't top 10k-20k at most. So, a shame but she can always self-release.

So...obviously streams lost her a top 10 position. Not bad at all though! I bet many of the 90's popstresses would love a no.11 album in 2019! It's an incredible achievement for her: i don't Mel B or Victoria Beckham could even get a Top 40 album position, Geri hasn't had the guts to release anything else after the disappointing failure of Passion. Mel C has released albums...but the best she's managed is top 20-30. So, for Emma to have the best charting Spice solo record in over a decade is amazing! I don't think it would have hurt at all to reduce the price abit on Amazon for this week only OR on her official site. But they obviously want to make a profit on this project, not just try and get a Top 10 position. I don't expect the album to even chart nexgt week, this has all been due to bundles and Spice Girls fans support.

Top 10 would have been FAB but 11 is a decent placing all things considering.

Susan Boyle - Ten
I think the latter albums have more targeted for the USA market than UK. She's done a decent deal for Syco ever since she's released on there...7 albums and she's now sold 20+ million plus albums! so incredible. 'Ten' is a great way to give her career a boost. But honestly i think she's dreamed and lived her dream now. She'll be very well off now and if she doesn't do anything else i wouldn't feel sad. There's only so many times you can keep covering the same type of songs either give this woman some original music or lets leave it at that, personally.

Still believe it's the wrong song for single 3.

Nice to see 'All The Songs' getting decent radio airplay support, all the songs off his last album didn't get much at all.

Dido - Still On My Mind
Dido has sold much better than i expected. I'm not sure it's the right 2nd single choice i wanted either Mad Love, Chances or Friends... but i get this choice being for summer etc.

Ruti - Racing Cars
very decent song.

Shawn Mendes | 3rd album
I am still annoyed he self titled album 3 so annoying.
-
Emma Bunton - 'My Happy Place'
I think the signed copies will help ensure a Top 10 album which would be an excellent result for her. I would estimate 2k-3k signed copies too.

Love the single. Very Jealousy esque. Not keen on the video I'm afraid - hate it too showy, photoshooty etc. I had a real cool idea with dancers and lights for the vid but not to be. Can't wait the album, should be good. Welcome back Will :cheer:

Nadine Coyle • General Discussion
I don't think the vocals were the problem at all. I'm sure everyone wanted more vocals but that wasn't the root cause of issues as she was given the most lines on singles from day one, and they shared pretty well otherwise on album tracks. It was the lack of communication, distance and respect that caused the issues we saw from OOC onwards. Once Nadine went to America, it is well known she tried to on advice of her manager presumably negotiate a solo deal and she said she wouldn't do another GA album unless she got one...hence holding them to ransom. In addition, she did become a lot more difficult to work with by not turning unto Brits, refusing do Passions or Ghosthunting etc. Then she hired a solo manager and brought him on the OOC tour...so it's no surprise that people were slowly getting ticked off with her. Even with the reunion, whilst they mended things the divide between them all was obvious and no one really forgave each other for the past issues, then she made up the whole unnecessary 'split' drama, there was no communication with each other anymore and hence we have what we have. I really thought they were better than all this but obviously not. But then again on the other side, how Chimola even managed to fall out with Sarah to me suggests that they aren't all guilt-free in all this. In additional how Nadine is now saying they were 'never' friends is a complete lie, her and Kimberley were very 'friendly' in the early days and lived together for a few years and we have proof of that. We can't have any reunion unless they sort out their issues and become 'friends' again who have respect for each other not just doing it for the £, solo success has dried up for all of them pretty much. Even Cheryl's last single struggled little, Nicola hasn't done much in years neither has Sarah, Kimberley just does the odd bit now and whilst Cheryl's The Greatest Dancer was good for her even her peak fame has gone done a lot. I can't buy into them until I believe their friendship, it's like watching Friends who hate each other, I need that chemistry....

I want CD jewel cases back
If I am paying £10 I want a CD jewel cases. THey're on the way out, most artists aren't doing them now. Dido's CD would have looked fab in it. Emma Bunton is doing the same. They get easily damaged and they don't seem as good quality.... Anyone else? :w00t:

Dido - Still On My Mind
20k sales is great. Would have loved a No.1 but a tough week to be fair. No.1 and No.2 Dave and Foals got so ahead of her in the end...I'm shocked. About 1k less and she may have even missed the top 5 with Tom Walker and Sigrid just close behind her. So we should be happy with No.3!
