Yup where will capaldi be in 17 years
  2. I don't know if i really even like looking back now. That Ten reunion ended in such a bitter way i was angry, they completely pulled the wool over my eyes i really did think they were very good friends and they wern't ever gonna slag each other with sly diggs and tactics following the band, so i'm disappointed in them and it makes the whole thing really unauthentic and fake now in my eyes. Looking at the Spice Girls, four girls genuinely who love and care for each other. I don't think Girls Aloud could ever be genuinely that close again. With three members practically joined at the hip and the other two ah-whol a reunion doesn't even have the same buzz for me. Don't rush back girls, sort out your issues then you can have my £ for TWENTY.
  3. Brilliant! Good for them. When you're making money like that from live dates who gives a toss about a DVD release or no release. They probably think releasing a DVD would decrease sales for future reunions and the extension of this one, so i can understand Simon Fuller's selfish thinking.

Yes! Clearly streaming is hurting his chances of a No.1! I'd say 80% of those could safely assumed to be UK...he isn't a worldwide artist, i'm sure there's some streams that are but not a significant portion.

 I'm trying to do my bit for him, it'd be a great achievement for 'Lexicon' but if he charts at No.2 instead it wouldn't be a total disaster, he's done quite well. 85% Proof sold 20k week 1 to chart at No.1 and there were times I'd say the Number 1 status was all it had going for it! He should do I estimate 16k which isn't bad at all! :cheer: I know realistically Capaldi will take it as per the last few weeks but I still dare to dream :yahoo: I wanted to try doing a streaming party for him at 10pm however I was afraid most his fans would be asleep and in bed by then... :P so instead I'm streaming on Amazon, Youtube and Spotify! Anyone not bought a copy please do could make the difference!

I wanted to see at what level the Will Young streaming on Spotify is, especially in comparison to Lewis Capaldi's album tracks all doing about 100k each day in the UK. So I recorded the totals for all his album songs including the singles yesterday and waited for them to update today and have calculated the difference...It'd be interesting also to see which tracks are gathering the most fan replaying... All The Songs was 1,050,300 now 1,062,907 (Daily increase: 12,607) My Love was 183,812 now 192,618 (Daily increase: 8,806) Scars was 25,213 now 29,957 (Daily increase: 4,744) Get Me Dancing was 22,953 now 27,039 (Daily increase: 4,086) Ground Running was 49,064 now 58,174 (Daily increase: 9,110) Dreaming Big was 21,160 now 25,066 (Daily increase: 3,906) I Bet You Call was 19,214 now 22,694 (Daily increase: 3,480) Forever was 21,800 now 25,716 (Daily increase: 3,916) Freedom was 17,137 now 20,248 (Daily increase: 3,111) Faithless Love was 16,158 now 19,086 (Daily increase: 2,928) Say Anything was 15,559 now 18,461 (Daily increase: 2,902) The Way We Were was 15,753 now 18,682 (Daily increase: 2,929) The most album love seems to be for the first half then second...obviously 'Ground Running' is attracting by far the most streams but it is also on the New Music Friday playlist. On analysis, the streaming isn't as strong as I'd hoped. The streaming just yesterday for the album would have given on estimation just 33 additional sales! 3k on average...so practically nothing! The positive is he remains No.2 on Amazon CDs, No.1 on Amazon MP3 album purchases. iTunes still No.1 on Albums! the £4.99 promotion was genius. :yahoo: The signings and a £7.99 CD promotion for the album could have helped even more!

I think his audience is no longer the fan-stan type with posters and hoards of 1D type hysteria, it's more of a mature Radio 2 type audience. I think he should have done a signing in London...apparently someone was saying that they didn't have an online option to get booked on for the signing and that may have played a part? He's not that unpopular..he's sold 14k this week..! They were fairly random locations also..why not Manchester?
  10. sajjadali posted a post in a topic in Pop and Country
Apparently reports say only about 20 people attended the Birmingham signing yesterday, so that must have played a part.

How does Will's sales split out to CD, tape, vinyl and streaming?
  13. sajjadali posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
Whoah I just started having to figure out the whole Lewis Capaldi streaming on Spotify...on UK Top 200 ONLY. So his most popular songs (the singles) I won't count as they get neutralised but the other album tracks which are IN the UK Top 200 are Bruises 159,560 and Grace 146,190 So, As an average lets assume the rest are just under these, 120,000-140,000 on average per day. So 130,000 per song x 10 songs = 1.3 million + 260,000 for the two singles (neutralised) and you have almost 1.5 million streams per day! Even if that figure is wrong he's getting about 1 million streams a day which is believe giving him at least 1000 streaming points PER day. This is just his UK data! Globally, it'd be much more! So he gets in addition some CD sales too...say 400-800 and hence you have a situation where he beats the new release steadily through the week. I don't think Will can even begin to compete on streaming with those figures...So he's in line to keep selling about 1.2k-1.6k a day for the remaining days and Will's best selling days he'd need to at least match that or sell just under to compete...The lead Will has is 1.6k on him at the moment. So there are TWO more days left (Wednesday and Thursday) if Will needs to sell at least 1,000 copies per day to properly stand a chance at getting that No.1, and even then it'll be a close one. I think Will will sell about 15,000. Lewis might add up to 17,000, sadly. But he's done some promoting today. Shame about those cancelled signings but if only 20 people are attending then I can see why they were cancelled...He's doing well No.2 on Amazon now (up from 3), My Love upto No.36 on iTunes, album still No.1 on iTunes, No.1/2 on Digital albums on Amazon. Keep buying and streaming LEXICON and get WY this no.1! ^_^

I dont get why they dont reduce it on Amazon to £7.99, that'd get him the extra sales. Also, he could put My Love down to 59p. Only mega fans are gonna buy it from his official store realistically, the general public/casual buyer sales will mostly come from supermarkets, HMV, Online retailers and Amazon/iTunes.

Is this how you workout the album DNS? So let's say Will Young is easy as his album only came out this week so all streams are counting for this week apart from the two singles which would be neutralised to the average of the other 10. It's handy as they say the most popular 12 songs off the album count, well that's perfect as 'Lexicon' only has 12 songs. So...JUST ON SPOTIFY All The Songs 1,050,300 NEUTRALISED to 22,401 My Love 183,812 NEUTRALISED to 22,401 Scars 25,213 Get Me Dancing 22,953 Ground Running 49,064 Dreaming Big 21,160 I Bet You Call 19,214 Forever 21,800 Freedom 17,137 Faithless Love 16,158 Say Anything 15,559 The Way We Were 15,753 Total no. of streams - 224,011 Average no. of streams of the 12 most popular songs excluding the most popular two (the singles): 22,401 So, The new total no. of streams would be (add them all up) 268,813 so as 1000 streams = 1 sale that would mean 268 streaming points? I've wanted to try calculating this for ages but I never found an album I cared to bother for, until now...

Completely agree. If he reduces the album to £7.99 on Amazon I think it'll help loads, even putting £0.59 for My Love on iTunes will help get more exposure. Loose Women helped - now No.2 on Amazon CDs sales ranks (been No.3 all week), No.1 on MP3 Downloads on Amazon. Still maintaining a iTunes No.1 album and My Love has shot up nearly twenty places on yesterday to 36 thanks to the performance earlier.

Sadly without the signings I think it looks more difficult  Just 800 copies sold for Will yesterday, Lewis Capaldi sold 1.6k. So he outsold him 2:1. Will still in lead, but not for too long. He could miss out on the No.1 but hundreds or 1k-2k copies, sadly. Looks like he will exceed our expectations! I think he'll end up doing 15k+ which is not bad at all after four years away. I'd say if he's not Number 1 he looks almost certain to be No.2. If you want WILL YOUNG to get a No.1 album with 'Lexicon' as he deserves buy and stream as many copies as you can support! :w00t:

Dammit. I personally think this may sadly be due to lack of wristbands taken... Scheduling conflicts, for 3 out of 4 dates are not possible - his schedule would have been checked at the time of confirmation. No.1 seems less than a sure thing now. .. Will let the cat out of the bag on Loose Women...he said he was off back home!
  19. sajjadali posted a post in a topic in Pop and Country
He really shouldn't have cancelled the London signing, could have helped hugely. London is his No.1 fanbase area on Spotify too... Loose Women should help plus the 3 signings. The iTunes £4.99 has worked VERY well, i just would hope they'd put the price on Amazon down too, but regardless it is holding up REALLY WELL. No.1 or No.2 at the least, and his record of having every single studio album in the top 2 intact. Also, sadly Lewis Capaladi and beat so many artists to the No.1 at the end of the week due to insane streaming for his songs so that'll be hard to complete with but i reckon it'll be close. Keep buying copies and streaming! Gift one to a friend or family member...it's a fab album.

Yep i think he's stopped a few...Jonas Brothers, Skepta and Billie Eilish. I am hopeful signings and Loose Women could possibly give him the edge. Will is outselling him on iTunes, but it's the other way round on Amazon. If Will reduces on Amazon to £7.99 i reckon that could help. I'm sure Will himself isn't too fussed, he's had a very long career and even a No.2 would be decent and keep his Top 2 studio album record up too. But i'd love to able to say that 'Lexicon' went to No.1, it is a brilliant album, very deserving and it may also be the encouragement Will needs to keep making music.

He's top 3 almost for certain. Obviously his career is not at it's peak but whose is this many years on? He's still doing quite good for me, I'd love for this album to go Gold at the least...and I hope he spends the rest of the year promoting it and doing more singles (Ground Running is brilliant). The way I put it - 17 years on from Pop Idol, Will Young is currently in line for his fifth number 1 album, real talent wins. Remember those media critics and radio DJs who said he wouldn't last 6 months... :w00t:

Keep positive! It's still within reach, however I am stunned what Lewis sold yesterday. Gift more copies If you can to friends and family, and keep it streaming all platforms like I'm doing! He still has Loose Women and two signings and if that's not enough I am moving him to No.1 in every supermarket I am visiting. :cheer: There was about 4 copies on Saturday, only 1 left when I checked yesterday - so he is selling. A price reduction on Amazon wouldn't be a bad thing.
