I p*** myself whenever I watch this: WF74N-5AFiU - Soundclash #123 - Girls Aloud vs Dave Spoon
Dave Spoon. Although the original without Lisa Maffia singing over the top is FAR better.- My December BOOT&IMMUNE

In all honesty it's repetitiveness has lead to it to just being cheap Saturday night television. ITV only get away with it because Ant & Dec host it. It turned boring quite a few series back.- My December BOOT&IMMUNE

Yeah, I feel the same way. It's just too much effort to try and decipher what people are saying.- Tobacco Purchase Age to be Raised
I didn't know that :o I guess you do learn something new every day :D- Tobacco Purchase Age to be Raised
^ I don't think it'll increase it that much. I mean, when I was younger people smoked to try something new, not so much because they wanted to look cool. I guess everyone's different though.- My December BOOT&IMMUNE

Well I think they sort of go hand in hand really. I think the purchase age/smoking age is the same thing. The idea is only people of 18 will be able to buy fags and therefore only people of 18 will be able to smoke. I think  They wouldn't raise a purchase age and not a using age. I'm confused - Will Madeleine McCann be found?
Yeah kinda  I was just trying to highlight that 100s of people go missing each week, yet only an extremely small number get awareness nationally.- Tobacco Purchase Age to be Raised
I heard about it sometime at the beginning of the year and have just spotted an advert on myspace - Tobacco Purchase Age to be Raised
I think it makes sense to be honest, fags are just as 'bad' as alcohol. On the other hand, if kids wanna smoke fags then they will, but I suppose raising the purchase age will make it even harder for younger people to get hold of them. I do feel sorry for those smokers who have just turned 16 though - they'll be stocking up from now until October - Tobacco Purchase Age to be Raised
'From 1st October 2007 it's going to become illegal to sell tobacco products to people under the age of 18 (an increase from 16) in England and Wales. The change will include cigarettes, cigars, tobacco for roll your own and pipes as well as rolling papers.' Why the law is changing: 'Figures show that most addicted adult smokers began smoking as teenagers. The change in law is to help prevent people from starting in the first place, so that they can avoid the serious health dangers of smoking. Smoking tobacco is addictive, causing serious harm and can have a dramatic effect on your appearance and attractiveness. Here are some reasons behind the change in the law: One in two lifelong smokers will be killed by their addiction. The younger a smoker starts, the more likely they are to be killed by their addiction. Someone who starts smoking at 15 is three times as likely to die from cancer due to smoking as someone who starts smoking in their mid-20s.' Clicky What does everyone make of this? Discuss B)- Will Madeleine McCann be found?
I've null voted because the first question is pointless and unecessary. I have absoloutely no sympathy for the parents. As a parent your priority will always be your children. Leaving your kids in a room whilst you go and sit in a bar is absoloutely disgusting, what if they had an accident?! They are bad parents. As someone said in the other thread, 100s of people going missing each week, yet in the last 6/7 years how many have got such a high level of exposure? Holly & Jessica, Sarah Payne, Milly Dowler, Madeleine - that's like 4 cases in the last 6/7 years. I hate to criticise the fact this case has so much coverage when a little girl has gone missing, but the parents are resposible, it is their fault. I was thinking the other day - if a Madeleine's mother was a single parent for example, no-one would show as much support as they are now. She'd be branded a bad mother and people would be urging social services to inspect. Yet because it's a couple, for some reason everyone doesn't see that they are at fault?- Lie detectors target benefit claim cheats
I think it's a great idea. Those fraudsters claiming ilegitimately (if that's a word?) will be screwed. These are the lazy scum of society who need to get up off their arses and do some work. Why should everyone else be funding these scumbags lives? I don't, however, think this should be the only measure to detect fraudsters. They need to look at all cases on an individual basis - not just via a 'lie detector'. - The Hollyoaks Thread...
