    Updated ^_^
  19. It seems stupid Diana was claiming it? Although she was entitled to it.. Surely though, it'd be better for all students to be eligible for it - even affluent students - than have no students being able to apply for it, because then the skint students have no chance in hell..?
  20. Sober performances was amazing

I just love her personality  And lmao at Rihanna comment. Ta for posting :D
  22. I knew someone would come back with that  I don't think it should be scrapped altogether because many student do put effort in and put money to use, but in my personal circumstances for example, my household earns more than the required amount, but we're certainly not 'wealthy'. Many students in the same position as myself work hard in college but they also have to take a part-time job to fund their own life. Surely these students should be rewarded and therefore aren't as stressed out with the extra amount of job hours they need to take up? And I agree that the incentive itself should be the qualification not the EMA. It's just so obvious at sixth form that some only turn up to get money cos they can't be bothered to get a real job <_<
  23. I've always been against EMA - and not just because I don't get it  My household income is above the required amount, but can my parents afford to pay me £30 a week just for turning up to lessons? No they bloody can't! And are these students spending all the money on transportation and books etc? It's unlikely. And fair dues, I'd spend the money on clothes, booze etc if I had it! And just because students go to lessons doesn't mean they're learning - the whole point of the financial incentive. They could be turning up and p***ing about and just get paid for it! And even worse they could be distracting those who actually want to learn. The focus should be on level of understanding and the equality of learning - not college and consortium attendance figures  EMA should be an option for everyone. I really could use the money, maybe not now, but save it up for Uni. It is unfair to exclude students from EMA because their household income is too 'high'. It's just not f***ing fair
