EDM in the charts
It will be in the charts for a while. I would compare it to hip-hop. Hip-Hop dominated the last decade, but now is in a slight decline. I'm sure there's another genre which will supplant dance music as the chart favourite, but not for another few years. I actually think it was when the likes of David Guetta started teaming up with Akon, Rihanna, Chris Brown, etc. that got dance music out there to more of the masses, and people stopped calling all dance music "techno" or "euro trash" and actually started paying attention.

Fedde Le Grand - Don't Give Up
http://s22.postimg.org/ri6xov06p/Fedde_Dont_Give_Up.png I love this song. Not hugely imaginative, but it's a song that gets me going.

Kiesza 'Hideaway'
Trying to figure out exactly where in Williamsburg the video is shot. My cousin lives pretty close to there. Pretty sure I've been on that block. North 12th and something.

David Guetta 'Shot Me Down' (feat. Skylar Grey)
Not my cup of tea. I love Guetta, but this isn't his style. This is my thing - when the drop hits, there's no music. The build up from "my baby shot me down....down....down....." is epic, but I just feel the drop falls flat. I feel like the beat needs to have a melody layered over it, rather than just relying on the beat, Garrix-style. Maybe it will grow on me, but I'm not a huge fan right now.

Shakira feat. Rihanna - Can't Remember To Forget You
Hmmmm. I was hoping for something a bit more dancey or clubby. Like Only Girl In The World, or Where have You Been. This is a bit too latin for my tastes, and apart from the chorus, which I like, the rest of the song is "meh" for me. Maybe it'll grow on me.

Showtek - Wasting Our Lives (WLTP) (feat. Tryna)
Just heard this yesterday. Current No. 1 track on Beatport. Like it a lot more than Booyah, which reached No. 5 in the UK. I'm hoping this gets big.

BUZZJACK MULTICHART OF 2013
This chart is awesome! I'm definitely adding a bunch of these to the playlist for my girlfriend's party tomorrow. Not sure if the chart will be done by then, but if not, it's still awesome! :D

2013 Tracks of the Year
What are everyone's dance tracks of the year? I would be more of a fan of the more mainstream progressive house and big room house songs, and I feel like this year has been good, but not great for dance music. Anyway, here are my favourites for 2013: Clarity - Zedd Mammoth - Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike Reload (feat. John Martin) - Sebastian Ingrosso and Tommy Trash Under Control - Calvin Harris and Alesso

Under Control (with Alesso feat. Hurts) • First Single
yZqmarGShxg Official video came out two days ago. I absolutely love this. My favourite dance artist right now is Sebastian Ingrosso, but these two are right behind.

Under Control (with Alesso feat. Hurts) • First Single
I've searched, and I haven't seen this anywhere on the forum, so I thought I'd post it. It premiered in Ibiza in August. It might be my favourote dance track of the year. I think this is going to be huge! 2xKO-pq0Md4

Katy Perry - Roar
sEt7IZvvijQ Not as good as some of her previous hits, like Firework, but I like it. I can see it doing really well.

Pop Danthology 2012
Turn Me On by David Guetta and Nicki Minaj was 2011 too. That was my gym song in August/September 2011.
-
Sak Noel "Loca People"
This is one of the worst songs I've heard all year. Absolute rubbish. I understand why some people might like it, but enough to send it to number one without any previous hits? Makes no sense to me.

Bruno Mars - The Lazy Song
A guy I worked with two summers ago in Ireland just won a Bruno Mars competition for covering this song. I may be biased, but I think it's great! His name's Sean Gallagher and he's from Donegal, Ireland. GLiiqqshP_g

Songs That Make Your Cry/Emotional
We have similar taste! Hoppipolla doesn't make me cry, but it is my favourite song of all time. It gets me emotional, but in a good way. Fix You would be up there. I've never cried to a song, but these ones get me close...... Set The Fire To The Third Bar by Snow Patrol Time by Hans Zimmer Tornado by Jónsi Transatlanticism by Death Cab For Cutie (I'm from Ireland, but am living in America, so I listen to it and think of my friends from home) Hometown Glory by Adele (This was playing on repeat on my iPod just after I left my roommates of three years in Ireland to move to America two years ago) Breathe Me by Sia (which I'm convinced has the exact same piano track as Hometown Glory, just in a different key) Your Hand In Mine by Explosions In The Sky Remember Me As A Time Of Day by Explsoions In The Sky Deus Ex Machina by If These Trees Could Talk Stokkseyri by Jónsi & Alex

The 50 Worst Pop Singles of the 00s
Danzel - Pump It Up Anything by Peter Kay The re-make of Don't They Know It's Christmas? Blackout Crew - Bbbbbbounce Blackout Crew - Put A Donk On It My personal favourite. I find it both hilariously bad and offensively bad: Soulja Boy - Yaaaah Trick Yaaaah! I dare you to watch it from start to finish! :D
-
Waka Flocka - No Hands
Another big hit over here in the US, along with Wiz Khalifa's Black & Yellow. Not sure if it'll be released back home though. skhxizRYxps

Wiz Khalifa - Black & Yellow
I LOVE this! Wiz Khalifa is from Pittsburgh, and the song is somewhat of a tribute to their sports teams. Their American Football (Steelers), Baseball (Pirates) and Ice Hockey (Penguins) teams all play in black & yellow. The Steelers have reached the Super Bowl next Sunday, and this song has become an anthem for the team and the city over the last month or two and is played before and after every game to get the crowd fired up. I love it! By the way, there have been loads of remixes of this, with different colours to suit different sports teams, but none will top the original.

Far East Movement 'Rocketeer' (Feat. Ryan Tedder)
Yeah, I heard it on the radio about two weeks ago over here (I live in Dallas, Texas), and I think it's starting to slowly make its way up the charts. No idea about a UK release date though.

Far East Movement 'Rocketeer' (Feat. Ryan Tedder)
I've heard it on the radio, so I guess it might be, but I LOVE this song of theirs more. Such a great beat. 4rLQVNtp3Rc

Now! Instrumentals
Basement Jaxx's "Good Luck" would work far better as an instrumental. I've never been able to find it without lyrics though. Heartbreaker by MSTRKRFT could easily work without any vocals, although I'm not sure if I'd prefer it. Simian Mobile Disco - Sleep Deprivation is a great instrumental.
-
Maika P - Sensualité
Decent enough tune. Her French accent is ridiculously hot in this song. That combined with her looks - I think I love her!

David Guetta ft C.Willis, Fergie & Lmfao - Gettin' Over You
Tried to start a new thread, but don't have enough posts - but has anybody heard his new song with Flo Rida - Club Can't Handle Me? It's going to be huge!
