Perry's Top 100 of 2007
Thanks for the comment Gary - I don't own the Hoosiers album, but if Goodbye Mr. A is the best song on it I'm a bit concerned as it's not THAT good

ZOMG |Thread for 18th Decemberists|
I was there too :D Just amazing, I was so excited to be there and right from the opening song the atmosphere was amazing. Seeing everyone doing the dance to Stop really made me grin too. Personal highlights were: Spice Up Your Life Too Much - loved the revamped version 2 Become 1 Mels C and B's solo songs Viva Forever Mama

Perry's Top 100 of 2007
82: Listen – Beyonce http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k313/davidobowie/Beyonc-Listen.jpg Chart Run: (36, 29, 26, 27, 24, 23, 22, 24, 25, 24, 25, 28, 31, 34, 40) {16 wks} The song that proved Beyonce could actually sing :o It’s a good song but she does go on a bit doesn’t she?? It only got to number 22 on my personal chart but it just seemed to stick around for weeks and weeks. 81: Goodbye Mr. A – The Hoosiers http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/88697156892.JPG Chart Run: (22, 31, 29, 28, 27, 20, 19, 16, 19, 24, 25, 33) {11 wks} [still on chart] The follow up to the incredibly annoying Worried About Ray, this song was a lot better than it’s predecessor. I still think as people The Hoosiers come across as very irritating, but this is a half decent song so it grew on me – plus, the video was quite cool :D

Perry's Top 100 of 2007
84: Glorious – Natalie Imbruglia http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/88697137112.JPG Chart Run: (28, 18, 14, 8, 10, 13, 12, 33, 38) {9 wks} Hmmm…not sure how I feel about this song. Never going to be an Imbruglia classic is it? Well it’s nice enough and has a very summery feel about it. Still prefer things like Torn, Counting Down The Days and Wrong Impression though. 83: Ring The Alarm – Beyonce http://img70.imageshack.us/img70/8886/200pxringthealarmlowpg1.jpg Chart Run: (40, 35, 34, 35, 29, 26, 20, 16, 15, 14, 17, 21, 27, 34, 37, 40) {16 wks} Did this ever get released? HMV reckon it’s released next year? How confusing. Anyway it’s not one of the strongest songs on the B’Day album and that alarm is REALLY annoying. But the video is marginally better than the Déjà Vu video so you gotta give her that.

Not a Big Brovaz fan at all :( Love Mika though, and I agree Happy Ending is much better :magic:

Trashley's 'I can't believe it's not better' Top 115 of 2007
115 - Kate Nash - Mouthwash - Still quite like this song, it's catchy :P 114 - Booty Luv - Some Kinda Rush - Never heard it but not the biggest Booty Luv fan... 113 - Amy Winehouse - Love Is A Losing Game - 112 - Booty Luv - Don't Mess With My Man - Yeah this one's ok, did quite well on my chart. 111 - Colbie Caillat - Bubbly - Never heard it even though I keep getting junk e-mails from the woman telling me to buy the song
-
1ST and 2ND and 3rd London Gigs - A Success!
There's no support, apparently they just play big songs over the sound system like Umbrella, Hung Up etc. Yeah they still do the solo songs - as far as I can tell the setlist hasn't changed... ...but a couple of costumes have :kink:

Perry's Top 100 of 2007
Hehe yeah funny that :P Trust me though, there are songs I'm not keen on further up too  I had a very strict points system though so I couldn't cheat and have my favourites at the top! Thanks for the comment

Perry's Top 100 of 2007
86: Chasing Cars – Snow Patrol http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/1704397.JPG Chart Run: (40, 29, 21, 6, 1, 1, 2, 3, 3, 6, 10, 8, 10, 16, 18, 19, 15, 15, 11, 16, 21, 21, 23, 25, 24, 27, 30, 28, 32, 29, 28, 31, 29, 34, 40) {35 wks} Ah the amazing Chasing Cars  I still love it and the only reason it’s so low on my chart is because the majority of it’s chart run is from 2006 and it was only on chart in 2007 for about 6 weeks I think. I’m glad it’s in the top 100 though as I saw Snow Patrol in concert this summer and they sang this song brilliantly. 85: Don’t Waste Your Time – Kelly Clarkson http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/3029/85xh1.png Chart Run: (35, 27, 22, 15, 17, 11, 13, 20, 31, 33, 36, 38) {12 wks} Narrowly missing the top 10 on my personal chart, this was the third song that charted from Kelly’s My December album. Sober entered the YTD chart at #114 so thank goodness Don’t Waste Your Time got a more respectable score. I’m annoyed at how the record company seem to be screwing up this album – this is actually a decent song, but is it getting released? Who knows?! HMV seem to have the One Minute single cover that was apparently getting released in October according to their website – ARGH!!!

Perry's Top 100 of 2007
88: Baby Love – Nicole Scherzinger http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/1753014.JPG Chart Run: (25, 13, 13, 13, 20, 18, 19, 21) {8 wks} [still on chart] You are my baby love, my baby love…yeah I love this song!! Good old Nicole releasing something much better than that Whatever U Like tripe. Shame she didn’t release this in the summer cos I think it would have done a lot better but there we go. 87: Suburban Knights – Hard-Fi http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/HARD07CD.JPG Chart Run: (23, 11, 9, 11, 18, 21, 27, 32, 37, 36, 40) {11 wks} :o What’s this?? Indie on my chart?? Unthinkable! This song is ridiculously catchy and despite being the complete opposite of everything in my chart (Indie, bad cover art and ugly lead singer), it quickly entered my top 10 and is one of my personal faves of the year.

Perry's Top 100 of 2007
90: Today The Sun’s On Us – Sophie Ellis-Bextor http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/1741966.JPG Chart Run: (37, 24, 13, 14, 8, 10, 22, 28, 33, 38) {10 wks} This is my least favourite Sophie song from those she’s released from the Trip The Light album, and I really wish she’d released If I Can’t Dance instead. :( I have to say that I’ve always had mixed opinions on Sophie – her music was always catchy but her voice grated on me. But since I saw her perform as Take That’s support act, I am proud to say that me and my friends have converted and now we love her. She put on such a good show…anyone wanna send me the album? :P 89: Do You Know – Enrique Iglesias http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/1735807.JPG Chart Run: (36, 23, 12, 8, 12, 16, 22, 25, 33, 40) {10 wks} This has to be my favourite ever Enrique song. Good beat, easy to sing along to…rubbish video! What were they thinking?? I got so bored every time it came on I had to turn it off

Perry's Top 100 of 2007
92: My Love – Justin Timberlake feat. T.I. http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/88697020512.JPG Chart Run: (30, 21, 16, 6, 6, 8, 9, 10, 5, 5, 9, 11, 13, 14, 23, 24, 28, 35) {18 wks} This song is one of my favourite JT songs and though it spent 10 weeks on chart at the end of 2006, it remained on chart for a further 8 weeks in 2007. Not really much else to say, the song’s good, the video’s ok, live performance was absolutely outstanding. :D 91: Don’t Mess With My Man – Booty Luv http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/HK38CDS.JPG Chart Run: (25, 14, 10, 11, 20, 21, 21, 33, 39) {9 wks} Not really sure how this song managed to not only enter my chart, but reach such a high peak! I don’t like dance music as a rule so I was confused as to why I didn’t immediately turn this song off when it came off the radio. Oh well.

Perry's Top 100 of 2007
94: Illegal – Shakira http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/88697009202.JPG Chart Run: (38, 23, 19, 16, 14, 10, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 23, 27, 34, 38) {15 wks} 15 weeks? :o I can’t believe this song stayed on my chart so long! It’s a nice song but nothing spectacular and certainly not a very good song compared to Hips Don’t Lie and Underneath Your Clothes. 93: The Heart Never Lies – McFly http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/1749617.JPG Chart Run: (29, 25, 14, 13, 12, 14, 24, 33, 36) {9 wks} Ok ok I know no one likes McFly (except Slick and myself) but in my defence, this is only the second (or third) McFly song ever to enter my top 40, and it IS one of their better ones right? Besides, they get naked a lot to promote their singles and that can only be a good thing right? :P

Perry's Top 100 of 2007
96: Gotta Work – Amerie http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/88697138472.JPG Chart Run: (19, 7, 6, 9, 18, 30, 38) {7 wks} When it first entered my chart it became the highest ever new entry (she doesn’t hold that record anymore thanks to Kylie). Sadly I don’t have a clue why I placed this song so high. It’s a little bit good to have a dance to…but that’s about it. And as you can see, she fell very quickly out of the chart soon after. 95: The Potential Break-Up Song – Aly and AJ. http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/CASD10.JPG Chart Run: (28, 15, 12, 13, 28, 20, 16, 35, 40) {9 wks} “What the hell’s this c**p?” was my response the first time I saw this video on The Hits. I thought it was an advert for High School Musical 2 but, alas, I was wrong. Pop duo Aly and AJ produced one of the most annoyingly catchy songs of the year and, determined as I was to hate it, I ended up loving it. Dammit!!

Perry's Top 100 of 2007
98: Big Girl You Are Beautiful – Mika http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/1741590.JPG Chart Run: (39, 32, 28, 18, 14, 12, 21, 26, 24, 39) {10 wks} Sigh, Mika, Mika, Mika, what were you thinking releasing this song? Similarly to Take That, Mika chose to release another crappy single from an album full of potential hits. I’m sure he doesn’t mind ‘cos it did quite well in the official charts, but I for one was not impressed by his complete disregard for the amazing My Interpretation. Shame on you Mika, shame on you. <_< 97: Young Folks – Peter Bjorn and John http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/WEBB151SCD.JPG Chart Run: (27, 21, 17, 16, 17, 16, 29, 37, 32, 39) {10 wks} This was one of those songs that passed me by completely – nothing unusual, happens a lot on here  It’s the kind of song that everyone is raving about (like Robyn’s songs) and that I just didn’t ‘get’: didn’t seem anything special to me. Then, me and a mate decided to have a road trip to Brighton and it came on the radio on our way down. After hearing it I fell in love with it and we all lived happily ever after. My life should be a film.

Perry's Top 100 of 2007
Thought I'd jump on the old bandwagon and post my top 100 songs based on my personal chart. I won't bother including videos because I'm not convinced people watch them and youtube is very slow for me tonight  But I may include vids for the top 20. Ok before we start let's have a look at those songs that just missed out: The Ones That Didn’t Make It – Numbers 101-110: No. / Title / Artist / Peak 110. Just A Little Bit – Mutya Buena - #16 109. No One – Alicia Keys - #20 108. Tambourine – Eve - #15 107. I Want Candy – Melanie C - # 25 106. Wait A Minute – Pussycat Dolls - #19 105. Do It – Nelly Furtado - #15* 104. Set The Fire To The Third Bar – Snow Patrol feat. Martha Wainwright - #11 103. Won’t Go Home Without You – Maroon 5 - #4* 102. Tired Of Being Sorry – Enrique Iglesias - #16 101. Can’t Get Along (Without You) – Hard-Fi – #12* *indicates that song is still charting. Now without further ado, I give you: The Top 100 of 2007 100: I’d Wait For Life – Take That http://img129.imageshack.us/img129/6711/0123593211812001sd0hw5.jpg Chart Run: (37, 34, 29, 23, 20, 22, 23, 25, 24, 27, 35) {11 wks} So kicking off the top 100 of 2007 is Take That with their third single from the Beautiful World album, I’d Wait For Life. I was really unimpressed with this song and am still a bit annoyed they released it as there are SO many better songs on that album like Reach Out and Beautiful World itself. Ah well they deservedly only made number 20 on my chart which serves them right for releasing such rubbish. 99: Change – Sugababes http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/1755605.JPG Chart Run: (32, 23, 17, 8, 7, 3) {6 wks} [still on chart] Next up are the Sugababes with Change, currently sitting at number 3 on my chart and eyeing up that Christmas number 1 spot. I love this song so much at the moment and if they’d released it earlier in the year it would have definitely been so much higher in the chart. Still, an amazing song with an awesome video – perhaps it will feature higher up in the 2008 chart. :D
