  1. Taylor was the third best selling albums artist of 2021 in the UK, with over 740,310 album units sold!
  2. Update to this: 1- Lover went platinum on 30 July 2021, as I predicted 2- Folklore will now go platinum in February 2022 (2 months faster than initially predicted) 3- Speak Now will go platinum in February 2022, 2 years (!) faster than initially predicted 4- 1989 will now go 5x platinum in late 2022 (1 year faster than initially predicted) 5- Evermore will go platinum in mid-2023 (1 year faster than initially predicted) 6- Reputation will go 2x platinum in mid-2024 (1 year faster than initially predicted) 7- Red will go 3x platinum in early 2025 (on par with the initial prediction) 8- Folklore will go 2x platinum in mid-2025 (1.5 years faster than predicted) 9- Lover will go 2x platinum in mid-2025 (0.75 years faster than initially predicted) 10- 1989 will go 6x platinum in early 2027 (on par with the initial prediction) Very pleasantly surprised by the surge in catalogue sales Taylor saw over the past 6 months. It seems like for the entire months of September, October, and November Taylor's back catalogue was reaching new highs in terms of consumption via streaming. Speak Now in particular had a massive revival.
  3. Updated UK Sales (as of 26 November 2021): Songs: Enchanted: 119,267 (should be around ~150,000 units sold by now) Albums: Red TV: 84,073 (115,400 as of now) Folklore: 277,147 (289,000 as of now) 1989: 1,416,773 (1,427,000 as of now) Evermore: 165,663 (176,000 as of now) Lover: 323,982 (331,000 as of now) Fearless TV: 64,445 (70,400 as of now) Reputation: 482,285 (487,000 as of now) Red (2012): 797,485 (801,000 as of now) Speak Now: 293,001 (297,000 as now) I also have estimates for her first two albums: Debut: 187,000 Fearless: 667,000 By the end of this month, both Folklore and Speak Now should hit platinum certification in the UK. Enchanted will probably also hit silver certification before summer, very impressive for an album track from 2010. It would've debuted at no. 76 on the Official Singles Chart the week Red TV came out had it not been for the 3 track rule.
  4. At its current rate, platinum is a lock by the end of February. It'll take a while, but I can see Evermore getting to platinum too eventually, probably by its third anniversary. Would be interesting to see if Red (Taylor's Version) can get to platinum in less time than Evermore, but it's hard to safely declare anything before the impact of the holiday seasons on sales goes away.

So around 280,000 units first week? Hardly bad, maybe just a tad bit underwhelming.
  6. Updated UK sales: • Shake It Off: 2,200,000 • Love Story: 1,500,000 • I Knew You Were Trouble: 1,400,000 • Look What You Made Me Do: 947,000 • Style: 704,000 • Willow: 397,000 Willow should be certified gold next week. Am trying to get updated album sales for her albums.

    This, to be honest.

This makes no sense. Taylor's selling these copies because there's demand, and economics dictates there's nothing wrong with that. Not every artist who releases signed CDs gets there, no? The album is doing extremely well on Spotify, showing people are liking it, and streaming platforms give a much better indication of what's popular with different demographics, while relying on pure sales alone indicates your popularity is restricted to an older demographic. Additionally, Taylor's CDs cost around £15, which is a fair bit more expensive than CDs being sold by other acts. The fact that they're being sold while also being streamed heavily is enough to declare Red TV the most popular album this week, which is what the chart is meant to represent. Just be glad she's not selling 30,000 CDs like Ed Sheeran.

Lover had crossed 23,182 units by this point, and finished the week with 53,015 units. Can Red TV finish this week with a similar amount too?

Go Taylor! I think she can do 50K this week. Folklore around 25K streaming units, and Red TV did significantly better on Spotify UK and Apple Music UK yesterday, so it should do more or less the same amount. Folklore did around 12K units from pure sales, but it had no physicals out, so Red TV should be able to double that, especially since she signed a batch of signed CDs specifically for the UK.

118K? Can it make to 150K?
  12. Lover is now certified platinum by the BPI! It's Taylor's fifth album to achieve this milestone. Crazy to think it's just platinum after the excellent chart run it has had. https://twitter.com/BRITs/status/1423676489338433538?s=20
  13. Great to see Taylor still charting 4 albums!
  14. Huge! Do you have this info for her newer albums?
  15. I got this from the UKMIX forum. You can ask to get an update in the 2021 UK YTD thread
  16. Great! How do I begin?
  17. Hello! If no one else wants to, I can take over this thread.
  18. Taylor's albums on the UK albums chart 200: #66. Folklore: 241,057 #75. 1989: 1,384,476 #86. Lover: 297,253 #96. Evermore: 138,875 #171. Reputation: 462,747 #174. Red: 776,687 OUT: Fearless (Taylor's Version): 43,193 (#169 last week) Lover's going platinum next week!
  19. I did estimations for her future album certifications this decade based on the gains her catalogue made between August 2019 & April 2021 (between November 2014 & August 2019 for Speak Now!) and according to them: 1- Lover will go platinum in the next two weeks 2- Folklore will go platinum in April 2022 3- 1989 will go 5x platinum in late 2023 4- Speak Now will go platinum in early 2024 5- Evermore will go platinum in mid-2024 6- Red will go 3x platinum in early 2025 7- Reputation will go 2x platinum in mid-2025 8- Lover will go 2x platinum in early 2026 9- Folklore will go 2x platinum in late 2026 10- 1989 will go 6x platinum in early 2027 I took into the account any drops that may occur as the re-recordings begin to cannibalize the original albums' sales, but not any market changes. With pure sales for catalog albums rising, and Taylor being a great catalog seller, it is possible that these albums reach new milestones earlier than I predicted.
  20. Based on how much this is selling weekly, I think it'll go platinum in April 2022. If it remains consistent (which it should, since her earlier albums all stabilized in sales after about 1.5 years of availability), it'll probably go multi platinum in February 2026, and maybe even triple platinum by its tenth anniversary.
  21. Hi! How do you get the chart runs + sales for albums in the no. 100 - no. 200 range?
  22. So when all is said and done, all Taylor albums between Fearless and Evermore will end up as platinum or higher, with Fearless + albums between Red and Folklore all ending up with multi platinum certifications eventually. Not bad, especially for this climate and considering the fact that at one point her debut album sold 38 copies in its first week.
  23. Updated sales for her biggest collaborations: Everything Has Changed: 771,000 Bad Blood: 756,000 I Don't Wanna Live Forever: 1,020,000 ME!: 712,000

Is Love Story a lock for top ten? I really hope it doesn't peak at no. 11 or 12.
  25. Hi! If Willow drops to no. 22 the week before falling to ACR, will it drop off the chart, or will even the halved streams/sales be enough for it to chart? If that is enough to chart, how high will it chart? Thanks!
