Both this week did 14k funnily enough. Album - 14,724 Single Total - 60,026 I'd love to know what the record label are expecting / hoping for.

20,290 for Bo$$ by Fifth Harmony - entered at #21.

It is a great song so I'm looking forwards to it being released, looking forwards to their new music for the debut more though. We definitely need more k-pop in the west.

Officially came in at #2! Delighted for them.

Just come across these, seem to be an Irish 6 piece boyband who have just scored a #1 with their debut single 'Where I Belong'. Really quite liking this song! 1-T8dTByQ6c

I imagine the logic is, take the hit on the single sales in the hope the added publicity and high charting position sells the album, merchandise and tour tickets. There is a lot of good will for them atm hopefully they can have a bit of longevity.

Possibly the reason they decided not to have this available to stream then, yes they lose placings on the chart but they gain more financially having it sales only, it's possible they would not have gotten this #1 on iTunes if not for the lack of availability anywhere else and being #1 there is good publicity.

#1 & #28 now on iTunes! They must be chuffed, personally I thought The Vamps version would be ahead, but good to see people like the Union J only version. Does anyone have a link to their X-Factor performance, I missed it. There album has jumped from outside the top 200 on iTunes to 120 now too, so it's starting to look a bit better for them, the pre release track of 'One More Time' is also at #169 (no idea where it peaked). I hope this is start of a solid career for them and not just a blip.

Do they earn a lot more money from sales than streams?

Anyone with young kids, or know of young children who seem to be loving Union J atm? The two ladies I work with both have young girls and they have ditched their One Direction merchandise this year for Union J stuff, wondering if it's a trend around that Union J are becoming 'cooler' to the kids, or if they're two isolated cases. Might get the album myself once I've heard all the previews, would love to see them have some better success.

I always think people are trolling when they say they like the Little Me / Change Your Life tracks. :unsure: :lol:

Cheers guys! Hopefully the Salute album is getting a little bump with it's sale reduction. It's sad to see it never hit the 300k mark, definitely deserved too on quality.

The main sales thread is reporting the Salute album at 212k, have we got our wires crossed at some point or is that figure an error?

I Have A Dream / Seasons In The Sun & Fool Again were all #1 after the album was released. I might be wrong but every UK single from their debut may have gone in at #1? That could be another interesting topic, most #1's from one album, excluding compilations.

I presume this is down to the song being used in the Talk Talk adverts before X-Factor? Surprised it had such an effect.

^ Going by their new fan club app, they haven't chosen the single yet and are still writing for the album. I'm starting to worry we won't get the album this year.
