The Irish Chart Thread 2012
So The Voice Of Ireland looks like it might impact on the Irish chart as Bressie climbs to #16. I wonder if the contestants will have any impact if they sing certain songs.

Maroon 5 - Wipe Your Eyes
I quite like it, but it does sound very rough.

YOU CHOOSE - Saturdays next move
They should use 'Turn Myself In' though whatever they do next as the fans did seem to love that and it seems silly to ignore something when the fans were calling for it. Even if it's just used as a b-side or a bonus track on a re-release... unless everyone is over that now.

YOU CHOOSE - Saturdays next move
A re-release isn't really an option on the poll. I'd say they should sort of follow Pixie Lotts lead in that their album has done poor off the back of an under-performing single, yet just carry on with another single from the album with promo like she is doing. The Saturdays haven't actually been on tv since they released the album, so I'd say release Faster asap and hopefully get some tv slots and see how actually mentioning that they have an album out helps. I think they need to try and keep costs down and work their hardest at selling this album, they can't really afford to have another 'flop' album to their name, and there's no reason this album shouldn't sell, it's not terrible by any means. If they can't sell this I don't see them selling many albums in the future so I don't see the point of moving on. If another single doesn't help at all, re-release with 4 or so more 'traditional Saturday' sounding songs like Ego/Higher, but still as part of this album. It's not unheard of that later singles can boost an album and it's worth a shot to me. I agree with Tabloid Darling, they can't just keep moving on everytime it goes badly (which seems to be everytime lately), they need to stick this one out, it's their only option imo.

Headlines! vs. On Your Radar
Missing You vs. All Fired Up Ego vs. Notorious Higher vs. Faster Forever Is Over vs. My Heart Takes Over Died In Your Eyes vs. Get Ready, Get Set Karma vs. The Way You Watch Me Puppet vs. For Myself One Shot (Starsmith Mix) vs. Do What You Want With Me Here Standing vs. Promise Me Lose Control vs. Wish I Didn't Know Deeper vs. White Lies Higher (ft. Flo Rida) vs. Last Call Ready To Rise vs. I Say OK Had It With Today vs. Move On U The songs I like better on Headlines, I really like better though, nothing on On Your Radar comes close to Ego or Higher.

Little Mix • Debut album
I can't wait for this, the sooner the better for me (as long as the material is good enough) the longer they wait the bigger chance of them being forgotten imo. The collabs with Jessie J & Tulisa also sounds very interesting!

Hahah Jedward at #2! Glad to see Little Mix as high as #7 and very surprised Matt managed #25, that's pretty good going. Hopefully we get more of the album chart, I don't care much for the singles.

Westlife - Lighthouse + The Greatest Hits
What is the need on this forum to constantly pit artists against eachother to prove one is better than the other? It's all just personal opinion, it's pop music at the end of the day, you can enjoy what you want, it's not right or wrong. Ok so Will Young had bigger viewing figures, Westlife higher sales. 1-1 ding ding. match over. Can we just drop it, we'll never change eachothers opinions. I have to disagree with torresgirl though, I think Westlife are here because of their vocals. They came on the scene with like 5 ballads in a row, they wanted to be known as a vocal group and I think they are, they aren't the traditional boyband who focus on the dancing (although they give it a good bash on tour from time to time). The fact they were a boyband who sang too many covers will obviously dent any credibility and imo that's probably deserved, but when it comes to vocals Shane and Mark are extremely good, two of the strongest male singers in pop. I know it's cliche to say pop singers can't sing and especially so for pop groups, but honestly they should get a bit more credit in that department. Louis isn't lying when he say's shane never sings out of tune, I've personally never heard him buff a note up in the 14years I've watched them, mess the words up and certaintly mess the dance routines up, but not the key. Marks range is incredible too, that voice. TBH I might be wrong in saying it's a shame they'll never get the credit for their voices because it's only on music forums I see that criticised, in the media for example album or tour reviews their vocals are normally pointed out as very positive, even in negative reviews.

Little Mix - Cannonball
Why on Earth haven't they got a proper video like previous contestents? The worst XF song and the worst winners video for the best winners. :(
-
Westlife - Lighthouse + The Greatest Hits
It was up against SCD final, so I don't find that surprising at all.

Great to see Little Mix have got the highest first week sales of the year. I wish they would give us sales data from time to time though.

Westlife - Lighthouse + The Greatest Hits
I'm 95% sure Shane will bring out a solo album, he keeps saying he would love to continue in the music industry and I think Mark will, when asked what he wants to do when Westlife's over, he seems to have a huge list, but singing is on there too. They've said they don't want to retire yet, they're only early 30's which is fair enough. I'm deff looking forwards to both albums if they happen. But Shane better stay a billion miles away from Louis if he does make one.

Christmas Top Of The Pops
I like that it's an all british line up as we tend to feel the need to slot Americans in to everything and there's some great UK talent out there that get's shoved to the side... however, I'm not sure I'm over the moon with the actual line up. It's TOTP though so It'll be on even if I sit through it bored. Hopefully Little Mix wins X-Factor to make it bearable for me.

Westlife - Lighthouse + The Greatest Hits
I'd actually be really happy if it were to break into the top 40 considering it will get no other promo and the lads are unlikely to mention it being out (i.e. Lighthouse) and it already has been cherry picked from the album a bit. A Medley wouldn't be a bad idea, they did it once before on a foreign X-Factor, possible Sweden? Also, if they tagged Beautiful World on the end it would be really good. Beautiful World on it's own would be the best option though. But I just don't see them doing it sadly. (Hopefully they prove me wrong)

Westlife - Lighthouse + The Greatest Hits
Yep, montage video expected next week. I'm pretty obsessed with 'Beautiful World' very happy it'll get a vid! They are also confirmed for the XF final. I hope they sing BW, but I imagine it'll be Flying Without Wings or You Raise Me Up.

'30 Days' (1st Single Discussion Thread) (Part 1)
When I listen to this song I always imagine them dancing in a club trying to look all seductive and sexy (in white or coloured dresses) and doing things to impress Travie, and then when it get's to his verse where he says 'You look so good in black' they look around all confussed and realise he wasn't looking at them after all... But in a humerous 'we don't take out selves too seriously' sort of way. As I will find this video way too cringey if they are actually trying to be serious throughout it.
-
On Your Radar (4th Studio Album Discussion) (Part 2)
The Saurdays did this far to quickly though imo, you can like one of their singles and then two singles on they've changed direction all over again. With every new era they seem to try and re-event themselves and I feel they are just moving too quickly. I think they should move much slower and 'mature' slower in order not to loose their original fanbase. 'Ego' and Chasing Lights worked for them... there was no need for them to change it, once people were getting tierd of it and it wasn't working then, but I don't think people were. The whole 'if it's not broken don't change it' theory is exactly what they should have done IMO.

'30 Days' (1st Single Discussion Thread) (Part 1)
Wow lots of negativity and I'm surprised, this is the best single choice IMO. I'll be really shocked if radio don't eat this up, it's SO radio friendly! The video for higher is my fave Sats vid too so I'm really looking forwards to this one! They better get on tv and promote it and the album though, they need to actively be pushing it as they can't sell of their name alone. Faster would be another great choice and White Lies too if they are to release more in the future (fingers crossed).

Westlife - Lighthouse + The Greatest Hits
Very happy it went #1 in Ireland. Good sales in the UK too I didn't expect it to be 90K+. Would love to see this do 300K by new year but not sure if it will. Nice to see updated sales from Music Week too, Back Home is getting very close to the million mark.
-
Wonderland - Debut Album
The Sats aren't going to do much better in sales either though and considering they've been around for 4years and have had some big tv appearances the last few weeks that's very embarrassing for them. Pixie Lott who is are Mercury, who these girls were also on, isn't doing much better either. Considering the album went #8 in the UK & #6 in Ireland you think the label would have been able to work with that and get them more promo to help sell it better over time. They were dropped to soon for sure, releasing Nothing Moves Me 3rd I think really killed it for them, but looking back the label may have already given up as that wasn't promoted well at all and everything seemed much quieter than before. Need You Now apparently was the planned 4th single with Is It Just Me being 5th. They needed to release In Your Arms otherwise they would have always ended up in this position imo.

 Go Westlife! 10 #1 albums is amazing and it means all 12 albums they released went top 2. :yahoo: Glad Gravity re-entered too.
