  1. If Radio 1 have played it and show signs of backing it, it would be a sensible choice and IMO it's the safest choice anyway given that it sounds very similar to Alexis Jordan's song which did really well, I loved the performance of it at the Album Chart Show too, deff a good choice! I would love Get Ready, Get Set at some point too. :)
  2. Oooh lovely covers ^^ http://i39.tinypic.com/2dhgo5f.jpg
  3. Ok I don't want to keep this TT Vs Westlife Vs Coldplay (seriously where did that come from?) discussion going because it's boring. But I just want to say I posted Westlife selling Croke Park in 4 mintues on here as a sort of celebration as it's not something that happens every day, obviously, because it was a record. I didn't post it to belittle Take That or U2's (as they were the previous record holders) success or to start a 'Westlife are better than Take That', 'no Take That are better than Westlife' sort of war. In fact I didn't even mention any other artist in my post! I don't get why it's wrong for me to mention it 'because TT sold it out twice', that's like saying you can't celebrate someone getting a #1 selling 100,000 'cause someone else had two #1's selling 90,000. Saying the first thing wasn't belitteling (am I making this word up?) the other, its just saying it was a good thing. myxxd the news than Beautiful World is getting a vid and a release is very welcome! I've only heard a preview, wanting to keep the full ting for when I have the album in my hands, but it was deff my fave from the album and it sounded like it could be one of their best to date. Also, I'm glad a song Mark wrote is getting some sort of release as 'I Will Reach You' not getting one was mind boggeling! I hope they don't use tour footage for this vid, I want all new footage if it's the last time, I imagine it to end a bit like Us Against The World.
  4. I agree as well, they really need to shift the albums this time Chasing Lights did pretty well, especially for a debut, they need to atleast match those sales again and try and get another good seller under their belts. I'm predicting 33K for it's opening week charting in the top 10.
  5. They've put a second one on now, selling Croke Park in the fastest time ever is absolutely huge! You're honestly saying they would never sell out Wembley when they sold out Croke Park in 4 minutes, really? If you like... As far as how Lighthouse is performing I am gutted and suprised it's doing as badly as it is. But considering their radio airplay is unbelievably small and they have only performed it the once on Loose Women and the lads themselves aren't mentioning it on their twitters and stuff, I shouldn't really... but with it being the possibly last single I'm suprised the fanbase didn't get behing them more. Saying that Westlife have focussed on the album the last few years anyway and the GH is looking like it will get good sales so I shouldn't be bothered, it's just a massive shame to loose their top 10's on their last one. That said, they shouldn't ahve changed the single to Lighthouse just two days before shooting the video when both the other two options, Poet's Heart and Beautiful World are in another class entirely (Wide Open sounds like it's a lot better too). As much as I hate saying it I am in a way glad Westlife are ending purely for the fact Louis has said he hoped he could change their minds and get them to record another covers album. That man is insane! They needed to release more songs like Beautiful World, Beautiful Tonight, I Will Reach You and No One's Gonna Sleep Tonight. They had them on the albums but for some reason they were never singles. And as far as the 'downward slump' is concerned, you have to remember the last two albums both only had the one single and when you take that into consideration their sales are extrmemely good. Gravity was without a doubt less successful than any of their former albums and with Safe leading it it's not suprising, but it did still sell 360,000 which isn't a disaster by a long way, it's not even bad. The Where We Are album did amazing when you consider it was only promoted for 3 weeks with one On Air/On Sale single! It sold half a million in the UK, not many artists would complain about that. Had that had 2+ singles I think we would have seen it up there with Back Home Sales. When their lowest selling album is 360,000 out of 11 releases it's hard to complain, especially when 6 of them topped the million mark. I'm excited for Marks because of this reason I think he'll break away from the Westlife sound and take more risks.
  6. I hope the release of On Your Radar will nudge Headlines over 200K before the years out. :)
  7. I didn't listen to 3 of the previews so won't vote until I have, but I did listen to Faster and am suprised it's winning, it's too like Alexis Jordan for me to want it to be a single, I'd personally pick The Way You Watch Me from the ones I have heard, I love it. :)
  8. Does anyone have updated sales for Nadine and Nicola's albums? ^_^
  9. Wow they sold out Croke Park (85,000 people, 3rd biggest stadium in the whole of Europe) in just 4... yes, four minutes! Obviously, thats the fastest Croke Park has ever sold out, it's incredible really. They've therefore added another Croke Park date for the 22nd June. Quite amazing to play Croke Park twice in the same tour. I think Lighthouse is out in Ireland, Austria, Germany and Switzerland today. I don't know if they ever chart in three of those countries but I'm hoping it can do well in Ireland and obviously the UK on sunday. I'm never confident about them on the singles chart.
  10. Does anyone know whats going on with them? I'd forgotten they existed until Freedom randomly came on my itunes...

  14. 18. Notorious | 38 plays 23. Ego | 36 plays 32. Puppet | 27 plays 47. Higher | 22 plays 52. Lady Killer | 21 plays 54. All Fired Up | 20 plays 66. If This Is Love | Set Me Off | Work | 18 plays 73. Up | 17 plays 80. Higher Ft Flo Rida | 16 plays 90. Karma | 15 plays Higher would be =18 along with Notorious if both versions were combined. Suprised at how low those counts are really, I thought Ego would be higher as it's always coming on my ipod when on shuffle and I was obsessed with Puppet and Wordshaker at points so expected them to be futher up.
  15. Previews of the new songs. Beautiful World is just amazing, they need to release this! Loving Wide Open too, not feeling Last Mile Of The Way from the preview, sounds a bit like Love Is My Witness, it might sound better at full length though, Poets Heart (Lighthouses B-Side) sounds better however. They originally signed up for three singles from this album so I would love them to honour that and release Beautiful World and Wide Open as both are single worthy, and both are better than Lighthouse... by far. However, with the split I think thats probably changed sadly. Not suprised BW was in the running for the lead single, shame they went with Garys song over it as it's not even close in quality. I have to say though if Beautiful World, I Will Reach You and Reach Out are anything to go by, then the rumours of Mark concentrating on song writing after the split needs to be true, he's yet to write a song I don't like and everyone he writes seems to top the previous!
  16. Glad to see Westlife's Gravity get it's 30th week. 258 for their GH Vol 1 though, love seeing that.

  18. I'm so gutted about this I still feel they had a lot left to give. Going to miss them so much, I know they aren't popular but they had some amazing songs and they were brilliant singers. On a slightly positive note has anyone heard the preview of Poets Heart on amazon, the b-side of Lighthouse? It's so good! That's now both my favourite groups split this year, The Saturdays are gonna be next with my luck. Atleast Kian is on The Voice Of Ireland and I expect Nicky will still be around DJing and presenting. I hope Shane and Mark don't disappear. Shanes rumoured for the UK version of The Voice although I don't know how likely that is. I just hope Mark continues writing music, he was getting really, really good, it's be amaizng to hear the not-so-westlife sounding songs too.

  24. 17th October: The Wanted (Maybe Rihanna could hold on?) 24th October: Professor Green 31st October: Cher Lloyd 7th November: Pixie Lott 14th November: One Direction 21st November: XF11 if they are releasing 28th November: XF11 or maybe Olly claiming it, I've not heard Rebecca's song yet so can't judge. I sort of wish charity songs weren't elgible to chart.
  25. 270. Second Last Chance - The Overtones It's just an iTunes error saying the release date is the 10th Oct, it was just released midnight. I hadn't realised Kelly was out, hope it does well for her!
