The year you started to watch Eurovision
The year Alsou was representing Russia... I believe it was either 1999 or 2000...

Belarus 2013
Brilliant moves to get a Latin inspired dance tune with some Slavic sounding instruments here and there in the Ballads R Us year and semifinal. Belarus going 1st after a break should make people remember it too. Throw in the number of neighbors and at leas slightly friendly at times Balkan countries... All in all, I can see it qualifying without much of a problem. Good job, Alyona!

Eurovision 2012 · Rankings
ok my turn! finally listened to everybody.ok so bold font is for those that i at least like. so i bothered putting them in order. the rest are split in categories, where i don't really care who is better... LOVE LOVE LOVE this song and Zeljko Serbia Zeljko is amazing! I understand only very few words, since Russian and Belarusian are not that close to Serbian. But I can feel what he is singing. It's a great gift that very few posess: singing with your soul. I didn't even see his face or eyes, I was listening to plain audio. He is that great with expressing emotion through his voice. This is #1 for me this year. Awesome Slovakia - my kind of music. :D take note Litesound, people do not compromise who they are and sing rock at Eurovision. It's a very current rock sound. Sweden - She is weird on stage, and I don't think "good" weird. Makes me a bit uncomfortable, but i'm willing to look past that, cause song is great. Russia - guilty pleasure. I love it where I should hate it. They are so effing adorable. Estonia - YES! YES! YES! One of my favs this year. Minimal, vulnerable, sincere. Azerbajan - are they trying to win it two times in a row? Lol great song. Very James-Bond-soundtrack-ey. i mean it's better than last year's winning song... Finland -I have a soft spot for Finland. This song reminds me of Hijo de la luna on some level. Great Iceland - like the celtic motives. the song is very haunting Romania - energetic, fun Hungary - very nice pop song Italy - it's actually very good. And in a "duh!" moment… it's very Italian. (ok you can say "DUH!" now lol) It's hard to get more italian lol Ireland - very 90s. It's nice. Loved their last year entry, this one is good, i still like their energy. Malta - nice summer song. Netherlands - cute and different. I'm not sure if I love it, but have nothing against it. Cyprus - good dance song. Sweden is better in this category, but I like that one too. Turkey - I'm surprised I like it lol turkish melody definitely helps Good. i don't care. whatever lol Norway - reminds me of Born this way by Gaga lol I mean it's nothing great, but ok i guess :) Albania - powerballad, great voice, but does nothing for me. Switzerland - I like rock, but that one is kinda meh. Belarus - It's ok. Wasn't my fav in Bealrusian final. I can get over the fact that they are kinda cliché rock band, but their attitude sucks. B&H - flashback to russian song I like russian song better lol Slovenia - Hello obligatory Disney-ish ballad song. Nothing special UK - very nostalgic. Great for being a soundtrack to a movie. Kinda cheesy… but not bad lol France - it's ok. Seems like I haven't really liked French entry since L'amour a la francaise bad to ok but not exactly a crime against music Belgium - trying too hard and doing stuff with her voice that she can't do well Greece - meh, I like the Greek melodies incorporated, but that's about it. Israel - I don't have a phobia of clowns. Correction I didn't until this song. Bulgaria - how many techno dance songs do we need? Lol and that one is not very good... Croatia - ok. Nothing special FYR M - I don't relly like it. I have no idea why. Her sobbing voice or very poorly sounding guitar… Lithuania - He can't sing live… going flat so often. Can't get past that. Portugal - it's ok for a Tango show in the middle of Buenos Aires but anywhere else, meh. Ukraine - too repetitive and flat in terms of dynamics of melody. And why is she singing "welcome?" is Eurovision in Ukraine? Or was this song written for soccer tournament (whatever it is. i'm a hockey person lol) Germany - pretty generic pop ballad. Spain - very weak voice… i miss Daniel Diges :'( Denmark - does nothing for me. DAFUQ Montenegro - just no Latvia - all i can say is DAFUQ? I like the music, voices and girls are pretty. But really? Country music, celtic ballad, and bard/minnistrells "I sing what I see" had a bastartd child, gave it for adoption and it somehow got to Latvia Austria - no San Marino - really? No I mean… REALLY????????

Russia 2012

Belarus 2012
studio sounds ok... butt heir live sound and harmonies leave A LOT to be desired pEgcqJD75ZY and i still can't understand half of what they are singing... although half is improvement over most... my fav still was Juzari... sigh. screw you flu season!

Belarus 2012
 true lol but they try to take pride in it haha i remember my teachers: "mind your pronunciation!" it was like a mantra before exams haha although i doubt that now after spending over a decade in US i'd pass that "pronunciation" test. we had to speak with "royal british" accent... heavily seasoned with thick russian  it baffles me though. with skype nd stuff it's so easy now to find yourself friends from every corner of the world. practice your english all you want! [/rant]

Belarus 2012
pros: she is pretty she can sing she is pretty faceless and moldable, can take on any image: romantic girl, bitchy diva, whatever new song will require cons: song is rather boring (fixable) her english is rather awful (what else is new! MIGHT be fixable) dance skills unknown all in all Belarus entry CAN be saved... will it be? time will tell.

Belarus 2012
so it's Alena but since Kirkorov was there and was implying that he will bring victory, he will change the song, just wait and see.

Belarus 2012
here are those that seem to be top contenders. pretty raw... http://kp.by/video/461796/ in order of appearance there: Aura ( :puke2: ) Yskui Abaljan ( ) Gunesh (    ) Lightsound ( :cheer: ) though i get a feeling i've heard it before... The CHampions  Youzari ^_^ i like it but it's not for Eurovision for sure. Alexandra Gajduk and Natallia Baldina <_< GTFO! Alena Lanskaya :w00t:   Georgiy Koldun - yes older brother. Anastasiya Vinnikova :???: Drozdy (Blackbirds)  Elena DOrofeeva  Nina Bogdanova :banghead: Tiani-Tolkaj (Pull-Push) and Vera Karetnikova  :nono: Ekaterina Tereschenko  it can be worked on (or with) and made into something interesting. but i doubt anyone that they can hire will have enough of a taste level to pull it off oh btw in case your head can take some abuse, here are some other entries http://kp.by/video/461747/ lots of facepalming, but i warned you

Ireland 2011
haha yeah, i feel in similar way. though i don't like or dislike Jedward cause it's the first i've heard of them. but i can appreciate a good show. i will not be listening to this song or will not be seeking out their other stuff. it's not my cuppatea. but it's undeniably best use of stage and technical possibilities. by miles. you have your simple stuff like a singer and some pretty pictures in behind in abundance, you have some attempt at tricks, screens and seizure inducing random stuff blinking behind... wind machines and pyrotechnics are getting old. and don't get me started on the sheer creepiness of Blue's screens... whoever staged the song and orchestrated the screens for Jedward though is a genius. head and shoulders above the rest.

Ireland 2011
