In today's first UK Midweek Singles Chart (10th) the bad news is that the Susan Boyle/Elvis Duet looks like it is not going to sell very well at all charting at No.38 selling some 2,302 singles. Brian :(

In today's first UK Midweek Album Chart (10th) 'The Nations Favourite Elvis Songs' album continues to hold on at No.9 with 9355 units sold. Going great guns and likely to stay in the Top 10 this week. Brian :dance:

There is no-one more than me who wished this rumour were true. However, apart from the Gold certifications due for 'Christmas Duets' and 'An Afternoon In The Garden' plus the Platinum upgrade for 'The Essential Elvis Presley' I cannot see how it could be. Ernst Jorgensen is the person responsible for tabulating Elvis' sales figures together with Sony (U.S.A.) and then submitting them to Gelfand, Renert and Feldman (Auditors) prior to these Awards being ratified with the RIAA. To date Ernst has no knowledge whatsoever of any such new awards or certification upgrades apart from those I have already listed above. Of course the information regarding the possibility of the RIAA introducing a new 'Silver' Album Award for 300,000 sales is a distinct possibility. Brian :(

Just received some excellent news. A repeat showing of 'The Nations Favourite Elvis Song' TV Programme will be aired over the Christmas period. Should be another sales boost for the album. Brian B-)

As of today (5th), Rod Stewart is less than 200 units behind him at No.10 and rising fast. Perhaps No.10 for Elvis on Sunday. Should know more tomorrow when the final Midweek Charts are known. After years of research, It is believed that new independent audited figures have been located and will be established for Elvis Presley's United States album sales in correlation to new certifications. I just received an E-mail from the Eternally Elvis fan club divulging this information. I am posting this list of albums awaiting certification by the RIAA by next year. 1. Elvis An afternoon in the garden will be certified Gold. 2. White Christmas will be certified Gold. 3. Elvis Country will be upgraded to platinum 4. Elvis by the Presley's will be certified gold 5. The Essential Elvis Presley will be upgraded to platinum 6 Christmas Duets will be certified gold. 7. Pot luck will be certified gold 8. Love Letters will be certified gold 9 Good Times will be certified Gold 10. Promised Land will be certified gold. 11. Elvis Today will be certified gold. Moreover many of the soundtrack albums will be tabulated with new certifications coupled with new upgrades in certifications for other Presley albums. I have been told that over 25 Presley albums will receive posthumous certifications by the RIAA. I believe a lot of Presley fans will be happy by this latest chain of events. I guess the Presley estate was tallying the amount of records to be certified by the RIAA all at one time. Presley is already the most certified artist in the history of popular music with a combined total of 257 certifications for albums and singles. He is way ahead of the second place Beatles who have a combined total of 148 certifications. I cannot believe that Elvis is still under certified by the Recording Industry Association of America. It's all change in the Top 10 so far this week. One Direction will be this week's new No.1 and No.2 will be Gary Barlow with Robbie Williams down to No.3 at present.
