October 11, 2013 HMV RELAUNCH & ELVIS TREASURE - Strictly limited edition vinyl records are being given away FREE next week at HMV's flagship new store at Oxford Street in London and one will be our man Elvis. Records by Elvis Presley, The Beatles and New Order will be available each day next week at the retailer's newly-reopened shop on 363 Oxford Street on a first-come-first-served basis when doors open at 8am. A limited colour pressing of Elvis Presley's eponymous 1956 debut album will be given away on Tuesday (October 15) with only 100 copies being pressed. This is one release I would love to get but sadly not being in London and my position, this is one fan out of the running. I'd like to wish all our London listeners and fellow fans the very best of luck in your attempt to grab a copy and I only hope that the fans who want this for it's uniqueness to add to their collections are the lucky ones and not those with the sole purpose of "Must grab and must sell for HUGE ££££££". "Elvis Presley in Concert," the worldwide popular production, has just announced two new shows in Chile featuring special guest Priscilla Presley! The new dates will take place at the Teatro Caupolican in Santiago, Chile on Sunday, November 3 and Monday, November 4. Tickets go on sale Sunday, October 5, and Elvis fans can purchase these tickets by visiting TeatroCaupolican.cl. The release date for 'The Nations Favourite Elvis Songs' album has been brought forward to 4th November. This could mean that the actual TV programme has also been brought forward to Saturday, 2nd November. I will try and find out the reason and the actual date of the TV Programme. Brian

Apart from Tilburg on 30th May, ‘Elvis Presley – On Stage’ has now been added to the following towns in the Netherlands: The Oosterpoort in Groningen on 27th May and the Tivoli Theatre in Utrecht on 29th May. Brian

It looks as though the dates for 'Elvis Presley - On Stage' European Tour 2014 are about to be announced with the first being in Tilburg, The Netherlands, on 30th May. I will post other dates on this thread as soon as I get them. Brian B-)

According to a report on the Web, there will be 5 'new' songs on the October Brazilian Tour of 'Elvis In Concert' including 'Love Me' and 'Little Sister'. However, 'Love Me' was featured on the 2005 European Tour. According to Jack Soden, " currently , the Facebook page Elvis , South America ranks third in the number of international fans , behind only the United Kingdom and Mexico, and this allows us to share the life of Elvis and his legacy with them ." It also rises from 44 to 37 on the Catalog Album Chart. The following albums appeared on the Catalog Album Chart: 'An Afternoon In The Garden' rises from 93 to 80 selling some 1,804 units. Total sales to date: 573,365 units. 'The Essential Elvis' (Double Album) appeared at 96 selling some 1,666 units. Total sales to date: 526,631 units. For RIAA purposes this has now sold 1,053,262 units. It also appeared on the 'Albums With TEA' at 195 selling some 3,191 units. (TEA) Track equivalent albums is a term used to describe a method of converting the sale of individual songs (singles) into whole album numbers. In other words, every time ten units of a single are sold, those ten units are counted as one album sale. Track equivalent albums are considered a reliable means of gauging whether music fans are buying whole albums or are opting to buy single tracks instead. 'Elvis Presley - On Stage' to tour the UK in April / May 2014. This new announced UK tour will be without the original TCB band, but will be joined with all new musicians/singers helping to keep Elvis rocking concert arena's around the country. There is no additional news of whether or not there will be any European tour dates being added? It is not yet known if the new tour will follow the same format as before, or will the new band members be bringing more performances to life by way of 50's TV performances, Movie songs and of course 70's live songs? Whatever the set-list, I'm sure Elvis fans across England, Ireland, Scotland & Wales will be coming out to enjoy the closest thing to experiencing Elvis 'Live'. For past concert tours, EPE and Stig Edgren have booked it into the large arenas. This time around it will play in smaller venues with a larger geographical reach thus giving more fans a chance to see it, especially those who cannot afford to travel or those with medical issues.
