  1. According to EPE and SONY there is no truth to this rumour. Brian :(
  2. AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Aug. 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The FIAT® brand announced today the launch of an all-new marketing and advertising campaign, the first since its return to the North American market. The comprehensive campaign combines broadcast, print, digital and experiential initiatives and will be focused in the brand's key markets together with complementary national advertising efforts. The introduction of a new tagline, "Simply More," sets the tone for the campaign. The brand's first national television commercial, "Drive-in," is scheduled to air on Monday, Aug. 1, on national and cable networks. "This campaign captures the perfect combination of wit and charm and is designed to engage current and potential customers, as well as increase brand and product awareness in key markets," said Laura Soave, Head of FIAT Brand North America. "We are excited to introduce the FIAT brand and the Fiat 500 to a new generation of consumers, and the timing couldn't be better as the 500 Cabrio joins our 500 hatchback in more than 90 studios around the country." Simply More The FIAT brand's new tagline, "Simply More," defines the Fiat 500 as everything you need and nothing you don't. It represents the notion that the simple things in life are treasures, alongside the thought that the richness and fullness of a life well-lived is defined by one's view of self-expression. Television – "Drive-in" The advertising campaign kicks off with its first broadcast commercial, titled "Drive-in," which debuts on national and cable networks today and features "Jailhouse Rock," a song made famous by Elvis Presley. The song was an instant classic and inspired a generation; it was released in 1957, the same year as the introduction of the Fiat 500 in Europe. The 30-second television commercial is a perfect juxtaposition of brand heritage and today's Fiat 500. "Drive-in" introduces the concept of how compact vehicles can be strong, beautiful and simple. Additional spots focusing on the vehicle features and capabilities will begin airing later this quarter. Brian B)

    Sounds good to me. Will have to look out for that one. Brian :D
  5. July 29th 2011 NEWLY FOUND ELVIS RECORDINGS? - How great would it be to discover 80 or so hours of previously unknown home recordings of Elvis Presley? You're right, it would be great. Well, one of our German listeners, Daniel Nelissen informs us that according to the German Elvis magazine "Graceland", Joe Esposito reveals how there is one collector who has around 80 hours of unreleased private recordings of Elvis and is currently in negotiations with the people at Elvis Presley Enterprises and I would assume Sony Music? Is this information from Esposito true? All we can do is keep our fingers crossed and hope that a deal can be struck so Elvis fans everywhere get to enjoy these recordings. The above information is taken from the Elvis Express Website at www.elvis-express.com Brian
  6. 'An Afternoon In The Garden' re-entered the Billboard 200 this week - at #177 - with 3,087 copies sold. (i) As of (late) October last year, the album had scanned a total of 194,552 units. (ii) A total of 306,183 units had been scanned in the US, as of last Sunday. --> Consequently, An Afternoon In The Garden sold/scanned approximately 112,000 copies in the past 9 months. To date, the album has spent 20 weeks on the Catalogue chart and 14 weeks on the Billboard 200. An Afternoon In The Garden is - with quite a margin - the best-selling Elvis album in 2011. Its chart performance and sales are - actually - better than the all the "new" Sony mainstream Elvis releases from the past ~3 years (including Viva Elvis & Elvis 75). Here is a short summary of how the album has performed on the US charts, since its - quite unexpected - appearance earlier this spring: Billboard 200 Catalog Chart 02/12 : #166 | #20 02/19 : #137 | #16 02/26 : # --- 03/05 : # --- 03/12 : #37 03/19 : #172 | #28 03/26 : #34 04/02 : #35 04/09 : #50 04/16 : # --- 04/23 : #123 | #12 04/30 : #85 | #8 05/07 : #89 | #8 05/14 : #88 | #9 05/21 : #98 | #13 05/28 : #114 | #13 06/04 : #131 | #15 06/11 : #150 | #22 06/18 : #154 | #21 06/25 : #194 | #32 07/02 : # --- 07/09 : # --- 07/16 : # --- 07/23 : #43 07/30 : #41 08/06 : #177 | #26 The above information kindly supplied by Mael. This has always been my favourite officially released 'live' Elvis album. If it keeps up the trend of re-entering the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart then hopefully it will not be long before we see a new Gold record for The King. Brian
  7. VOTE ELV1S! Which artist had more hit songs? http://www.ovationtv.com/American_Revolutionaries/ You can vote as many times as you like. Michael Jackson is well in the lead at present despite the fact that Elvis had more hit songs. Brian I now suspect this poll to be 'rigged' as was the case with the recent NME Poll. Please do not waste your time voting. Brian

    The 1950's by a mile. Elvis THE KING and all the original rock 'n' rollers without which no other pop era would exist as we now know them. Of course people tend to vote for the era they became teenagers. Only natural I suppose as memories remain of those impressionable times, first love and music. Brian
  17. The following appears in the latest Edition of Billboard Magazine: Elvis Presley had his first No. 1 46 years, 5 months and three weeks before his last one. The King's first No. 1 album was "Elvis Presley" (first week at No. 1: May 5, 1956) and his most recent No. 1 album was "ELVIS: 30 #1 Hits" (last week at No. 1: Oct. 26, 2002). Brian
  18. Here is the result none of us wished to see: http://www.nme.com/news/michael-jackson/57469 10 million votes indeed. I think not. Brian :angry:

  20. I have just learnt that took place during Elvis week a few years ago. The guy panicked after he left thinking for sure he had been caught. There were people everywhere, and he didn't know what to do. He went into a port-a-potty, and threw the gun into the pot. EPE was oblivious, and never knew the gun was even missing. Luckily the company that owned them found the gun while doing cleaning, it was reported to the police, and the gun was cleaned and returned. I hope the security has been improved since then. Brian :)
  21. A case of theft I believe. I wonder if he was apprehended? Raises security issues. Brian :unsure:
  22. The Poll has now closed with Elvis winning 64.6% of the vote. Brian :yahoo:

    Elvis is currently in third position behind Jackson and Mercury. We need around 17,500 votes to catch up to Jackson. However, the good news is that YOU CAN VOTE AS MANY TIMES AS YOU LIKE and in the past few days votes for Elvis have been coming in 10 times faster than those for Jackson or Mercury. Brian
  25. 'An Afternoon In The Garden' drops from 150 to 154 on this week's (w/e June 18th) Billboard Top 200 Album Charts and rises from 22 to 21 on the Catalog Album Charts. Brian :)
