  2. According to one fan who attended the Mohegan Sun Concert (12th) there wasn't a jumpsuited Elvis fan in sight. Apparently, the Arena was about half full although other reports indicate a sell-out. No new content. Google Earth Intro not used. I suspect, however, that the Google aspect will be included in the European concerts for 2012. As usual the music could have been louder. Still a good show though. Line-Up: James Burton - Lead Guitar Glen Hardin - Piano Paul Leim - Drums Nathan East - Bass Sweet Inspirations -Estelle Brown, Portia Griffin, Unknown Female Terry Blackwood, Joe Moscheo Joe Guercio - Musical Director 16 Piece Orchestra Estelle gave a brief tribute to Myrna saying that The Sweets will continue until "God tells us when to stop". 3. The album 'An Afternoon In The Garden' has suddenly turned up on the Billboard Top 200 and Catalog Charts. Last week it entered the Top 200 Album Charts at 166 and 20 on the Catalog Charts. This week it has risen to 137 on the Top 200 Album Charts and 16 on the Catalog Album Charts. I suspect this could be due to the 'Elvis In Concert' productions happening during the next week or so at the Radio City Music Hall in NYC and at the Mohegan Sun Arena in CT. I am reliably informed that the album is on sale for $5, along with others, at such stores as Walmart. This is my favourite 'live' Elvis album. Brian
  4. There are still some tickets left for all the UK March 2012 concerts, particularly the one in Birmingham. For all those who are still looking for tickets, please go to the following URL: http://www.theticketfactory.com and then enter 'Elvis Presley In Concert' in the search bar. Brian

  7. 50 years ago: 1961 Four hours after the box office sale of tickets for the Elvis Presley charity show started yesterday, a "sold out" sign went up at the Central Ticket office in Goldsmith's. However, 668 seats are still available in the gallery of the Amphitheater of Ellis Auditorium and they will be offered on a "first come, first served" basis at 9:30 this morning at the ticket office. Gallery seats are $2 each. A section has been reserved for Negroes. "Memphis has never seen anything like this in the entertainment business," a veteran showman said last night. Just goes to show what a difference 50 years makes. Brian

  11. As of today the stock appears to be rallying and now back up to $3.44 per share. I also listened to the CKX Broadcast concerning the American Idol Programme and basically it was just to reinforce how well the current season is doing and how well the current set of judges have been received, especially JLO and Steven Tyler. 12. Please go to the following URL: http://www.showbizspy.com/article/225285/j...y-in-movie.html Personally, I don't like the sound of this movie, supposedly concentrating on the 'darker side' of Elvis. Brian :(

Whilst not an Elvis themed restaurant, this one still has the name, is still open and has some great reviews: http://wwww.velvet-elvis.com Brian :D
  14. Apparently the rumour about the Concert being cancelled is a false one as it was never scheduled in the first place. Brian :D

  16. Please go to the following URL: http://ir.ckx.com/stockquote.cfm The Stock at CKX appears to be rapidly losing value and I just wonder what is going to happen to the Elvis World if it crashes, which looks very possible. Brian :(
  17. Ticket sales for the so-called Video Show in the US for next month have been somewhat disappointing. Due to a lack of interest, one show at the Mohegan Sun Casino has been cancelled. The concert on the 12th is still on, but the 13th has now officially been cancelled. The band then travels to NYC for the concert at Radio City Music Hall on the 15th, which should be sold out by then. Information from www.elvismatters.be Brian

  21. Please go to the following URL: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/artic...ail-Sunday.html Unusual selection for a change. Regarding the sales aspect of the 'freebie' CD's' given away in newspapers, I confirmed with Sony(UK) today and they state that they do NOT count towards Elvis' sales as they are giveaways. Personally, I think they should count but I suspect it is in the 'too difficult' tray. Each sale would have to be passed through a POS (Point Of Sale) machine and most outlets have not got them. Believe it or not, more than 1.2 Million Elvis CDs were issued with The Sunday Times June 2001 on one day! The Daily Mail sells about two million copies! So the numbers are substantial by any measure. Brian
