Well that's really because her songs since 2001 have not sold well on the whole so beating them was not very high. An for her album not even over 600k world wide really is poor. That is not just to say Kylie has underperformed I think in general established acts are struggling against the like if Lady gage etc, eg Westlife, Mariah Carey and so on.
  2. Well it was when I became a fan of Madonna, I wanted to know how her singles/albums were doing etc so then got me interested in charts and sales in general.
  3. How could anyone vote for Bleeding Love, it is one of the best!
  4. Have I-tunes released what amounts each contestant on x-factor sold of their 'singles' each week yet?

Well at the minute I think the only growth area is blu-ray, and with the PS3 expected to be the top selling console this will only help blu-rays increase even more, and since the disks are still relatively expensive it would give hmv higher revenues/profits if they focused on these more instead of cds/dvds which are still falling.
  6. I think 150k today with over 700k in the week, I think having the extra tracks on the CD will mean it will sell a lot more overall, my mum is only buying it for the other tracks on the CD(first time I saw your face mainly) so maybe others who don't like the main song will still make a purchase.
  7. The BBC will reportedly scrap the daily repeats of Murder She Wrote from its afternoon schedule. The move follows BBC Trust criticism about the amount of repeats shown on the network, the Mirror reports. Money will instead be spent on new dramas and current affairs programming. "The obvious slot is after the Doctors soap," a source said. "Murder She Wrote will be replaced by something fresh that will appeal to the Trust and hopefully to lots of our viewers." A BBC spokesperson added: "Recent daytime dramas including Land Girls and Jimmy McGovern's Moving On, which both return this autumn for second series, have proved hugely popular with viewers." Digital Spy I know most people won't care, but I enjoyed it and I know alot of others do to, and its still better than some of the new rubbish they put on.

I really like this, but why oh why do good songs always have to be runied by a 'rapping cameo' that adds nothing to the song, and i think makes it worse!
  9. Do we think if the Tories win that will help us to a glories UK win similar to what happened after Mr Bliar????

  11. When did Madonna glee air in ireland?
  12. The main issue with this new 50% is the govt estimeated £600m income, but if people just leave or in this example just don't come the country will simply end up losing more money. A number of comapnies have expressed interest in moving their headquarters abroad, yes I agree this is pretty disgusting, but companies/people going abroad will cost the country alot more in the long run.

  17. Wanted Esme to win after 1st performance, but was shockinly bad with Pete's song, I hate Josh for some reason lol His voice is so boring and never changes. Alex at least looks good and had more passion in his voice, between the boys Alex should have easily won and in eurovision final Alex would have got more points simply for being gud lookin!!
  18. When do you think will hit it, a couple of days? Will have to keep checking total and try and win haha
  19. Repeats of the hit US comedy Friends will no longer be shown on Channel 4 and sister station E4 from next autumn. The sitcom, which stars Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer, has been a regular fixture on the broadcaster's schedules since 1994. Channel 4 said the move would free up funds for new shows and acquisitions. "After 15 years, 10 hit series and 236 terrific episodes, it's time to say goodbye to old Friends and welcome new ones," said Channel 4's Gill Hay. She added: "We are incredibly proud to have been the home of Friends for so long, but at a point when the channel is undergoing a period of creative renewal it felt like the right time to part company." Commercial success In a statement Channel 4 said it was hopeful the decision would "provide an opportunity to refresh the schedule" across both networks. Last year it was announced that Big Brother - another long-serving Channel 4 programme - would come to an end in 2010. Friends has been a huge commercial success in both the US and the UK. The series was based around six 20-somethings living in New York and yet to figure out where their lives were leading. As the years went on, the show charted their tangled romantic liaisons and life experiences. The characters - Ross, Monica, Phoebe, Rachel, Joey and Chandler - spawned catchphrases, calendars, notebooks, mugs, T-shirts, video and DVD box sets and even copycat haircuts. The last ever episode, from series 10, drew an audience of 8.6 million viewers to Channel 4 when it was screened in 2004. Since then, the show has been on constant rotation at Channel 4 and its sister station E4, where they continue to attract an average audience of almost 400,000. Channel 4's deal with Warner Bros International Television will end next autumn, after which cable channel Comedy Central will broadcast episodes from the series. (BBC News) I know have seen each episode a zilion times , but will still miss switching on channel 4 and watchin it in a morning then on E4 was having my tea, sad news:(

  24. HITS: YOUR WEEKEND CHART PREVIEW: Susan Boyle could reclaim the #1 spot on next week's chart, thanks to her appearance on Oprah earlier this week. In a novelty—or a sign of the times—there will likely be two indie bands in the Top five, with Spoon joining Vampire Weekend near the top of the leader board. The wild card for next week's chart will be Hope for Haiti Now, the star-studded digital-only album from this weekend's benefit to support earthquake relief in Haiti. Pre-orders will begin on Friday, with the benefit airing Friday night. Organizers hope to begin delivering the album over the weekend. How fast the album can be delivered and how quickly the pre-orders are redeemed will determine chart position next week. Should this collection hit #1, it will be the first digital-only release to ever reach that pinnacle. 25. HITS DAILY DOUBLE: YOUR WEEKEND CHART PREVIEW: Heading into the big football weekend, Vampire Weekend looks pretty much like a sure thing for #1 next week. This will be the very first #1 record for ADA, and a big deal indeed for indie rock in general. (Incredible album, btw—see Trakin Care of Business for the details).
