  1. Overuse of the world "flop" there don't you think though? It's still holding strong on US radio and only recently dropped out of top 10 in US after being there for just under 2 months. Not "Moves like Jagger" or "Payphone" standards but you can't have that same stonking success with every single. I'd say it will peak around #6 or #7 in our chart.
  2. Pfft! It hasn't flopped all over the world you fool. Do your research before you wildly claim things.

What's the source for this? I've not seen anywhere that suggests the UK release date is tomorrow. It is for the US but not for UK anyway. They're also now on Interscope which tend to hold back releases for US artists in the UK like they did for OneRepublic "Love Runs Out" (Ryan Tedder wrote some of "Maps" as well).
  4. It's not doing well because it doesn't have a proper music video I think. They released a 7 minute long video I think that just had fan footage on it. The video itself is barely on any music channels and I think that has affected it hugely. I remember when 'One More Night' was released and the same with 'Payphone', those videos got played a lot whereas the music channels haven't took a liking to this track which I think is down to it having, quite frankly, a shitty video. The video itself looking at the video airplay charts the past few weeks just hasn't been getting played. Although, I do think it may have been the wrong choice as third single but that's another debate. I thought there were better tracks suited to be third single on the album.
  5. Can't all get what we want can we, for example i'd like for you to be euthanised for bashing Maroon 5 every second you breathe!!

You need your head seeing to if you think Maroon 5's latest album is 'flopping' as you call it. Album sales are down across the board. If the climate was better the album would sell more and still probably be around the same position. The market has shrunk currently but will no doubt improve as we move into Q4 which traditionally is better for album sales.

As big a Maroon 5 fan that I am, Linkin Park have #1 all but wrapped up in my opinion. They've been ahead on pre-orders on most online retailers. In general Linkin Park can still shift the units I feel just to sneak ahead of Maroon 5. Maroon 5 will most likely be at #2, although I predict top 3 just because they don't seem to sell as much albums as they have done in the past. The MLJ argument with HAO is a mute point. MLJ was tacked on as a re-issue and wasn't publicised much, apart from being included in the 2 for £10 offer at HMV for example.
  8. Brilliant performance. All I hear from Bre is waaa waaaa. Sorry just had to. I knew a post like that was coming. Payphone for #1 (when it is released!!)
  9. Absolutely zero discussion on this album? Suprised to be honest, considering this went #1. The album is pretty solid throughout, albeit a very safe sounding album for Keane. It's not taking any form of risks like Perfect Symmetry did which I thought was a much better album. Soverign Light Cafe is the standout track for me.
  10. Interesting to see tribute/fake cover version of Maroon 5 - Payphone at #179

I disagree with the fact the album will drop massively next week. I can see it holding up at an acceptable level. I can't see it selling massively either though unless they can turnaround their relevance in the singles market which hasn't happened so far with lead single "Silenced by the Night".

You quite clearly don't know what you're talking about. Keane are generally album sellers nowadays with the recent exception of Night Train which was an EP anyway and still went #1.
  13. How about the general music buying public decided? Seriously, I love the input you put into this site Bre, but your constant dissaproval of anything Maroon 5 gets really annoying. I'm a bit of a lurker on these forums. I generally post every now and then and yes I am biased in that I like Maroon 5. It was even more annoying back when MLJ was doing really well throughout the whole of late last year. It's ok not to like a track or even a band and even to state that but the numerous occasions you do it, it just becomes tedious and like I say I love the input you put into these forums. I have my dislikes and likes and it's obvious you do as well. Sorry if I'm coming across as too strong here, it's just something I constantly see a lot from you on these forums and it's the only negative thing I have to say about you. Awful band in your opinion I suppose. One of my favourite bands, if not, my favourite. I've been listening to them since I was 14 and I've grown up with them. They have a lot of wonderful gems on their albums that people never hear and just mainly judge on the singles they put out. As for the song, I love it! It seems more "Stereo Hearts" than anything like MLJ to be perfectly honest.

Keane - Silenced by the Night. This has been moved to 15th April, this coming Sunday. Source provided below. http://keanemusic.com/archive-comment.php?...IJilCqa0VTrE%3D
  15. Disconnected isn't the first single in the UK. It's already been confirmed by Keane themselves that Silenced by the Night will be the lead single in the UK. It had its first UK radio play last week on Fearne Cotton's Radio 1 show.
  16. Here's a radio rip of "Disconnected". There were original murmurings that "Disconnected" would be the first single in the UK whilst "Silenced by the Night" would be the first single in the US. They've already shot the video for "Disconnected". "Disconnected" is the first single in Germany by the sounds of it and will probably be the second single in the UK. Hw-JSGS2_FQ

Hit the nail on the head there. I still think it will be close between the Saturdays and Pixie.

No idea where you're getting this from. They can't be playing it that much considering it isn't even in the top 100 on radio airplay.

Natalia Kills isn't even in the top 100 on airplay. I very much doubt that will go top 10.

Gym Class Heroes will be around 5-7, how can you forget that track :P

She'll be top 5 roughly on TV airplay tomorrow and just outside top 40 on radio airplay I think. It's radio airplay that is a bit dissapointing.

They'll have to shoot a new video if they're going to do that. I think one of the reasons it didn't do as well when it was released last year was the ridiculous censoring of the video. It had to go through so many edits before it could finally be shown on UK tv. Go search on youtube for the UK edit of the video. It's quite frankly a joke. I still don't think it would have gone top 10 without the video fiasco but it could have done better than top 30.

Possibly, I wouldn't think by much if I'm being honest. I walked into HMV yesterday and I saw the new revised version on the shelves. I think it could be top 20 next week if it continues climbing. Earlier in the week the repackaged version on Play.com was being dispatched within 3-5 days which would indicate they perhaps didn't have that many copies. It's changed now back to dispatch within 24 hours. It's climbing up the HMV music chart and Play.com bestseller chart, as I keep checking. No sign of it on Amazon despite the revised version being on there.

It's ok. It was just the way you said it in the sense it was pretty much fact. A better expression would have been almost certainly in your opinion or something like that compared to Stereo Hearts. I can see the understanding where you don't like a track from a favourite artist so you have high hopes for the follow up. Speaking of when Stereo Hearts is released, the same week Matt Cardle and Kelly Clarkson are out. I particularly don't like Matt Cardle's new track which is surprising because it is written by Gary Barlow. It may grow on me but I cannot see that style of music as a lead single (not counting 'When We Collid') doing anything amazing for him. I wouldn't be surprised if it goes #1 but I'm hoping for a Joe McElderry like debut.
