iTunes Chart: September (I)
Come to think of it I get your point. There are more US non #1's that last longer in the charts, which is a sad occurence.

iTunes Chart: September (I)
Yea, I'd think they are still contenders. I disagree on your post about MLJ having longevity because it's a US song. You can't label all US songs with that assumption. For me anyway the reason is because MLJ came out of nowhere. It didn't exactly have great airplay before its release. CapitalFM and Radio 1 weren't playing it at all. It was just the smaller local commercial stations playing it. The music video didn't come out until the week before its release so it never got regular rotation on TV. Basically I think now it's on CapitalFM quite regularly now and on TV a lot, more people are discovering it. The fact it sold so much in the first week I would think is a testament to how many people like the song in a sense. If it can increase week on week like it has done then it would have been a sure fire #1 if it had the backing of stations like CapitalFM and Radio 1 in pre-release. Look at Olly Murs for example, or even Wretch 32.

I would love for MLJ to get to #1 but surely Pixie Lott next week is a certain for #1. I'd be very surprised if she even misses the top 3.

iTunes Chart: September (I)
The UK market IS the second largest behind the US in the western world. And actually the reason why sales are so high in places like Japan & South Korea is because of subscription based services. Those high numbers you see per week are NOT actual purchases. Basically people pay per month to listen to track and keep them legally as long as they have that subscription active. If they listen to or download that particular song then it counts as a sale. It is actually very misleading. Do some research before you say someone is so wrong that their comment is laughable. I could say your comment is laughable but I won't be that rude. Just thought I'd put it straight :)

Chart Trivia - Jagger
Regardless, the point is mute because Cher Lloyd's song isn't referencing Mick Jagger, whilst Moves Like Jagger is.

iTunes Chart: August (II)
Already got a huge lead at #1 on the US iTunes. It's certainly possible. Thinking about it, it has Drake featuring. Drake doesn't seem to have the best of luck in the UK. One particular recent record he featured on did quite well though. Don't need to name it I don't think :P

iTunes Chart: August (II)
Going to have to agree to disagree because yes I do believe it is quite ironic when a band's next hit 4 years later to chart in the top 10 could potentially hit #2, the same position of their previous top 10 hit. Or in which case it more likely enters at #3 the whole point is mute. This point especially when the album in between those 4 years couldn't even muster up a top 20 hit. I could very easily go into the point how the word "flop" is overused nowadays but I won't go there. Can we get back on topic of the "iTunes Chart" please :)

That's a whole different kettle of fish :P

iTunes Chart: August (II)
To say the track is within a shot at #2 or more likely #3 IS unexpected. I was predicting the track would only get top 30 or top 20 at the very best. Another definition of ironic is coincidental and you're telling me that their next track (to enter the top 10) after their 2007 song "Makes Me Wonder" at #2, 4 years later could potentially hit #2 is NOT ironic is just being pedantic. I would also agree it is unfortunate when you look at it being so close to #1.

Almost Saturday's Chart 1st July 2011
Going to have to disagree with that one <_<
-
iTunes Chart: August (II)
Ironic, unfortunate, whatever you wanna call it. I call it ironic because it's well over 4 years since that last #2 and they could well enter back at #2.

Almost Saturday's Chart 1st July 2011
Either that is a typo or somebody is a tiny bit jealous at M5 & Xtina MLJ being at #2  In all seriousness I'd think Emeli will just about sneak #2 come Sunday.

iTunes Chart: August (II)
Could be quite close if it keeps increasing. No chance of #1 even with the extra version of MLJ hovering in the low 100's. Quite ironic if it gets #2 because if I remember correctly, didn't "Makes Me Wonder" back in 2007 get #2?

iTunes Chart: August (II)
Or the obligatory comment of which Bre is an example - "Boo at MLJ increasing" or "Don't like MLJ myself" :teresa: Only kidding of course :P Any chance now that MLJ could be at #2 on Sunday?

iTunes Chart: August (II)
Maybe you're right. No idea why they completely snub Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera tracks then. Shall have to see this time next week.

iTunes Chart: August (II)
Thought they added Christina Perri after, my bad. Thanks for that. Oh and we get you don't like the track haha. Seen too many of your posts stating your dislike. Radio 1 did play MLJ today on the chart update. I just cannot see them ignoring a track set to enter the top 3. I still think they'll add it next week even if it's the C-list.
-
iTunes Chart: August (II)
Pretty sure they'll add it next week if I'm honest. Once it charts in the top 5 they'll have to add it. They did it with Pitbull & Ne-yo and also with Christina Perri.

How about the fact it's a good catchy tune? I'm gonna go with that point.

iTunes Chart: August (II)
Not true at all. The edited (clean) version has 3.1 million views whilst the version you're talking about has 1.2 million views (explicit version). Also, I think he/she is talking about the lyric video which has 9 million views. The music video for MLJ only just premiered on Tuesday this week.

Moves Like Jagger - Maroon 5 feat X-TINA
Not true at all. It did climb up iTunes back in June because of "The Voice" performance. It's now back to #1 on its own merit because radio airplay in the US is really taking off. It climbed into the top 10 on iTunes even before promo performance on America's Got Talent was aired. Get your facts straight before anything. Don't mind someone not liking a song, fair enough. Also, the song on iTunes is #2 in Australia, #1 in Canada, #3 in Denmark, #3 in Italy, #1 in Luxembourg, #2 in Netherlands, #1 in New Zealand. Among the top 20 in most countries actually by looking at it. Source: http://kworb.net/ww/ Edit: It is now #2 in Ireland on iTunes. Only released 8 hours ago.

It's released in the UK this Sunday August 14th just to let you know :) August 12th for Ireland.

Moves Like Jagger - Maroon 5 feat X-TINA
Here's the edited version being shown on UK music channels. Not much difference to the explicit version apart from no tits in it (never thought I'd say that sentence :D). iEPTlhBmwRg&

US iTunes Top 100 [JUL-DEC 2011]
Not true at all. It climbed into the top 10 BEFORE they performed on America's Got Talent. Have a look at the US radio airplay it is exploding at the moment, amongst the songs with the most spins. The performance did help push it into the top 5, correct. However, it was at #7 before the performance which truely shows the song is doing well. It already went to #1 on US iTunes last month and it's back to #2 now with US airplay increasing everyday and all this without the music video released yet. This has so much more potential to grow. Music video is planned either this week or next week according to VEVO.

Here's the studio version. Dunno why you posted the performance version. The version that is climbing up the charts is the studio version. suRsxpoAc5w Here's a behind the scenes of the video that will be released soon. It's directed by Jonas Åkerlund. dw3BkCZV-P8
