For anyone wondering why Skrillex has all of a sudden jumped to #102 on iTunes is because Fearne Cotton played it on her music generator yesterday on Radio 1.

That was the first time I heard it and on first listen I quite liked it.

  2. I think the official version is now up on youtube... definitely A LOT clearer, it just doesn't sound like her on the verses!

NEVER trust youtube videos. Uploaders mess with the pitch to avoid copyright claims causing the video to be taken down.

I remember listening to "Wonderman" by Tinie Tempah on youtube and I thought it was terrible. It was only when purchasing it on iTunes that I realised the pitch was being messed with on youtube.

oh Xtina and Maroon 5 desperate on both parts methinks.

Ooh whats the Kylie the albums 2000-2010 one all about?

They're both on the NBC show "The Voice" is the reason why they've hooked up on a track together. The song debuted at #8 on the billboard hot 100 last week with NO music video or radio airplay and was #1 on US itunes for about 6 days. Should be huge if handled correctly. Already gone to #1 on airplay in the netherlands and in the top 30 in most european iTunes. Already doing better than "Misery" did last year and only just premiered two weeks ago. Music video is being shot this week as well.

Listen to the track btw :)

  4. Who'd have ever thought Maroon 5 or Christina Aguilera would be relevant enough for a US top 5/10 ever again!

Have you heard the song :P? It deserves to be there! It's so catchy.

I don't see this being exactly the case. The Voice was getting very good ratings in the US whilst American Idol was still on. They're both singing shows obviously, but I think the formats are different enough for them both to do well for now.

Was there a reason you quoted my post? I never said that it was a performance song!

My apologies, I thought you were referring to it as a performance song

Not too sure, but I doubt it. I'm quite surprised The Voice performances appear on the feed, as American Idol performances don't. X Factor performances also didn't appear on the UK feed last year, so I'm not sure whether The Voice performances will be allowed to appear on the UK feed. If they are, I don't see them having as much impact as in the US.

Tbh, I don't see Cheryl Cole doing the UK version. She doesn't seem like the right fit - the show is meant to be about the voice, after all?

It is NOT a performance song! It's an official single by Maroon 5 featuring Christina Aguilera. It has the tag "The Voice performance" because M5 performed it on the show last night.

It's now at #2 on the chart, wouldn't be surprised if it hits #1. Will inevitably start dropping with lack of radio airplay. Hasn't gone for adds yet. Rolling Stone has called it the perfect summer tune. It's gaining momentum as I thought.

Just going to paste the latest news from Maroon 5 directly so people stop thinking this is a performance release.

"NEW TRACK "MOVES LIKE JAGGER" FEAT. XTINA!

The new Maroon 5 track "Moves Like Jagger," featuring Christina Aguilera premiered live on last night's episode of NBC's the Voice! RollingStone.com praised the collaboration, saying "the two singers have a terrific chemistry, with Levine's chill vibe acting as the perfect counterbalance to the diva's fiery intensity."

If you missed it, you can hear what MTV.com calls the "perfect summer song" NOW and (be the first to learn all the lyrics) at the M5 Facebook page! And pick it up today as it climbs the charts (currently up to #3) in the iTunes store! "

It's an official Maroon 5 single featuring Christina as I said. She's a judge on The Voice alongside Adam Levine whose band his Maroon 5. Not that hard to understand. It just says performance by The Voice because they performed it on the show live.

    Now at #3.

The thing is, the download on iTunes US store is NOT a live performance. It's the official single mp3.

The range of instruments on this album (Vices & Virtues) is immense. I'm skipping one song out of the 10 offered on the album and that is "Always".

This album is on a par with their first for me. Possibly could overtake it.

    Favourite Tracks

"Nearly Witches (Ever Since We Met)" - Best track on the album. It starts out weird tho. 10/10

    "Memories" - Love it 9/10

"Ready To Go (Get Me Out Of My Mind)" - The album has that Killers sound and it's definitely noticeable on here. 9.5/10

"Sarah Smiles" - Apparently Brendon wrote this for his girlfriend. It has a brilliant bridge. 8.5/10

    "Let's Kill Tonight" - Stomping chorus. 9/10

    Least Favourite

    "Always" - 3/10

    Other songs

    "Hurricane" - 8/10

    "Trade Mistakes" - A grower. 7/10

"The Calendar" - 8/10 This song is about the split of the band btw.

Overall the album gets a solid 4.5/5 for me. Best way to describe the sound is The Killers crossed with Friendly Fires. It has the craziness of the first album. Not much comparison with the second album apart from on the track "Always" and possibly "Sarah Smiles".

Has everyone forgotten when they went in at number 2 and held in the top 10 for quite a few weeks with 'Makes Me Wonder'?

With the video airplay at the moment being pretty good, if radio picks up more and radio 1 support it, i can definitely see it being top 5. I'll say top 10 for sure though, regardless.

Maroon 5 'Misery' sounds as tho it could be huge! Not out until next week but lets just say i know someone who gave me a little preview and it really goes back to their Songs about Jane days with 'This Love'.
