  1. That's the answer why The Flood didn't do so well......the album will be massive. Online surge for Take That album Take That's new album has become the biggest pre-order release of the year, Amazon.co.uk said. Progress, the band's first album since reuniting with Robbie Williams, has received twice as many online orders as any other album released this year. It has also been pre-ordered more times than any other Take That album, including the 2008 release The Circus, which is Amazon.co.uk's seventh biggest-selling album of all time. The band's latest release, officially in the shops from Monday, has been tipped to be Christmas Number One. But online sales so far have surpassed expectations. Julian Monaghan, head of music buying at Amazon.co.uk, said: "Take That and Robbie Williams have enjoyed significant chart success over recent years but the demand for this first album with Robbie back in the fold is higher than anything that either of them have achieved before. "It is going to be a massive seller throughout the Christmas period and with the sell-out tour still to follow, it could be at the top end of the music charts for a long time to come." Take That are due to perform on tonight's X Factor results show on ITV1, with an exclusive rendition of their latest single, The Flood. Progress is currently available for pre-order from Amazon.co.uk, priced at £8.93. Fans can also download the album for £3.99 at the Amazon MP3 store The Press Association
  2. Another good review: http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertai...or-2132247.html It looks like they finally have a chance to win Best Album at Brit Awards next year.

  4. Williams' vocals are the most prominent on Progress and, on the surface, it's the first Take That album not dominated by Barlow. But don't be fooled. Williams now calls his former nemesis "the captain" while Barlow has confirmed he "still leads the trail". His musical input into this album, as with all Take That releases, is vast. For all the progress made in the latest gear change of the Take That rollercoaster, Gary Barlow is still the leader of the band that was formed around him. That's what I suspected.

  6. I agree with you. The Flood's first airplay was on October 8th. Since then it has been played to death plus there hasn't been promotion for the single. Just wait and see how well the album will do. I'm not worried at all.
  7. There hasn't been any promotion in Germany (Europe in general). The Flood is out for weeks now and it will chart within the Top 10 without any promotion. Not to bad. They'll have decent sales in Europe, but they have to PROMOTE the album.
  8. Like Kathyp said. It's clearly written in the Q interview and Robbie confirmed it. It was Gary who wrote the inital songs. That's why he wanted to rename Take That into the English because the songs were fra from what Take That had ever done. You can read it in the interview. Of course during the course of the writing process everyone worked on the tracks......However, they all together have created an amazing sound. Well done Take That. I'm happy for them to have created a really exiting album. It's not about Gary, Robbie, Mark, Howard or Jason. It's about Take That. Long may it last.
  9. Absolutely amazing. It'll cost them a fair amount of fans but they have done their best album yet. Fantastic songwriting from Mr. Barlow. Hats off.

  19. Progress will definately be the best selling Take That album ever. Sales in UK will be massive and the rest of Europe seems to be excited too...... Compliments to mainly Gary. Fantastic approach to business. Seems like Take That benefit more than Robbie from the whole reunion.
  20. Tickets for the german concerts will be sold out soon. I'm really amazed because there hasn't been much promotion......it's going really well for Take That. Compliments to Gary and the rest. Brilliant idea and marketing so far.

  22. Back to topic  There seems to be agreement on this forum that Take That will sell about 500.000 albums in the UK in the first week. What are the predictions for the rest of Europe? I predict sales of about 1.5-2.0 million by the end of 2010 in the UK alone. In Europe they'll probably manage between 300.000-500.000 by the end of this year. It'll definately be a big success for both Take That and Robbie.

  24. Ok, the album is almost here. What do you think first week sales will be? I beleve they have a chance of topping first weeks sales of "The Circus" and I predict they sell more than 500.000 copies......and total sales in UK for the album will be around 2-2.5 million. Take That are going from strength to strength.....who would have thought that 5 years ago..... Their comeback is amazing.
