US Billboard Top 200 Albums - 11/01/2014 - (with sales)
Thanks for the full sales!!!! Interesting to see Iggy and Lana both selling at 380k. Pink did quite well for this year's climate. Good for Sam Smith still at Top 10 and selling. He might reach platinum by end of year.

US Hot 100 - 11/01/2014
Such a shame that Taylor's numbers were condensed due to instant grat. Although that would look optimistic for her album's opening week sales when it releases next week, I guess. I expect Welcome To New York to also have the same effect.

Interesting to see Ariana is Top 20 with Break Free on Spotify, but is only number 32 on Deezer. How is George Ezra doing on Deezer?

Wow. Geronimo is getting noticed in the UK now!!! I am now hoping Cool Kids would get some notice in the UK as well!!!

Italian Chart Thread 2014
Wow at Enrique!!! Also, FIMI has included streaming on their singles chart in September.

Daily US Airplay Updates - OCT-DEC 2014
Tove Lo is doing amazing and it looks like Cool Kids will be a hit also. Nick Jonas and Sam Smith getting radio love while Fergie seems to be lagging now. Could Black Widow be the future number 1? Milky Chance deserves to gain more and it's interesting to see Riptide on the list, considering the song is almost a year old now.

Songs that sound like desperate attempts to get a hit
The Wanted really shot themselves in the foot last year ever since Walks Like Rihanna. I eye-rolled as soon as I saw the title. The song was crap as well as their video. Their subsequent single releases were really terrible after that. Wasn't surprised that their album tanked. Desperation was such an understatement for The Wanted in 2013. Although, Glow in the Dark (their final single) was quite a decent song but the label were too lazy to promote or even try anymore at that point (the song's video was just a montage and not a very good one). John Legend's All of Me sounded pretty desperate to me. Not necessarily to get a hit, but a desperation to get a Grammy for Song of The Year or Record of the Year.

Mehgan is a lock for number 1 this week, but it is interesting to see her going down one place. Otherwise, very stagnant Top 10!!!

US Billboard 200 - 10/11/2014
That was a very competitive week between the Top 3 albums!!! Is that a good start for Jennifer Hudson??

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 28th September 2014
As far as Cheryl's history of second singles go, this is her best one. As a track alone, I enjoy it more than CSL!!!

Spotify Chart Thread 2014, Part I
Happy for Taylor!!!! I also found it bizarre that CSL didn't do as well as I though it would on streaming. The worldwide total stream is over 4.6 million so far on Spotify. Hope I Don't Care fares better.

He won the French version of The Voice this year.

US iTunes Top 100 [JUL-DEC 2014]
Nice seeing Tove Lo in the Top 5!!!! Quite surprised though.

Worldwide hits that flopped in only one country?
I'm honestly surprised that it took SNEP that quick to add streams and such a long time to add downloads. Exactly. Top album charts in France are dominated by French artists and NRJ compilations. Taylor Swift's last album only made Top 30 with 30k sales there and Ariana's new album only made Top 20. In the singles charts, it tends to be mixed, especially as of recent. It should be interesting how it will shape up when streaming gets added next month. After all, The French streams way more than they download.

Spotify Chart Thread 2014, Part I
As soon as my phone alerted me that Shake It Off is now (FINALLY) available on Spotify, I got really excited!!! :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: Now that Shake It Off sold very well, Taylor must have felt comfortable with releasing on Spotify now, in my opinion. Doubtful that it will be number 1, but it will likely have a prolonged stay at Top 5. Regardless, I am excited that SIO is finally here and been listening on repeat now!!!! Now, if Ariana can get Too Close on Spotify, that'd be great.

AATB is such a mess this week. One day it's in, the next day it's unavailable. Bet it will be gone by tomorrow!!!!

US Billboard 200 - 09/20/2014
Nice to see Sam Smith scanning over the Gold threshold!!! Lana and Iggy might reach 500k by November or Early December, if they sell consistently at that rate or better. Ariana's Yours Truly will see Gold this year also and My Everything did plummet much harder than I thought on its second week.

Daily US Airplay Updates - JUL 2013 - SEP 2014
Come Clean was brought to prominence mainly because of Laguna Beach. I remember when she did With Love and I think the perfume did better than the single or the album did!!!  Chasing The Sun was a very abysmal song and the music video was just crap.
-
Spotify Chart Thread 2014, Part I
Gaaah!!! That sounds really stupid, in my opinion. To "pre-order a stream" is just desperate, in my eyes. If they want that, why don't they just use to the OA/OS format, instead of waiting for the record label to release the song on iTunes?

Man, Calvin is climbing up fast!!! His worldwide stream number will be huge!!!!

Streaming and the UK top 40 Chart
Precisely!!! It worked for Nico & Vinz and it will definitely work with Meghan Trainor, by the time her single releases in October. It's such a shame that Taylor Swift's Shake It Off was not available on Spotify upon release and it's still not there now!!! She could have made Top 2 in her OA/OS week and may have been the surprise number 1 the following week.

French Chart Thread 2014
I think it will help English speaking artists more than French speaking artists for now, but in a couple of years, it might be quite even. Handful of French-speaking songs are in the Spotify 50 weekly already. In a bigger picture, French music audiences stream a lot more than buying music online in the last six months (Link (French): http://www.snepmusique.com/wp-content/uplo...nfographie1.pdf ), in comparison to the UK where people download more but audio streaming is not too far behind. SNEP also said that a song must be listened for at least 30 seconds to count as one stream (Link 2: http://www.snepmusique.com/actualites-du-s...treaming-audio/ ).
