  1. Problem still hanging in Top 10!!!! Break Free starting to fall down though.
  2. Apparently, SNEP is integrating streaming data to Top Downloads from October. I assume they are integrated singles chart also, I think. Glad that they are doing this as their download sales are very low right now. Also pleasantly surprised that they are doing it this year, as it took them five years to finally combine physical and digital sales (downloads chart started in 2006, I think) to the singles chart (in 2011)!!!!
  3. Stromae's numbers are amazing!!! A large chunk of it is obviously from French sales, as the album was number 1 for plenty of weeks!!!! I can't take Media Traffic's "Track Chart" seriously though.
  4. The one with Cashmere Cat is Be My Baby, not that other horrendous track. YAAAS at Love Me Harder, Break Your Heart Right Back and One Last Time entering Bubbling Under. My Everything was a bit surprising though. No Hands On Me?
  5. Republic must be a bit disappointed with Ariana's opening week, considering all that publicity. Even with the final Billboard/Nielsen Soundscan data to be released on Thursday, the best might be around 170k for her. Then again, the climate in the album market has been really poor this year. Even Sam Smith's album is barely reaching Gold certification. We'll see how Ariana really performs in Q4. According to Pulse, only seven 2014-released albums have reached (or close to) Gold certification. Taylor Swift will join that list (among other big releases), when she releases 1989 in October. 01 - 695,000 - THE OUTSIDERS - Eric Church 02 - 686,000 - GHOST STORIES - Coldplay 03 - 593,000 - NOW 50 - Various 04 - 537,000 - JUST AS I AM - Brantley Gilbert 05 - 510,000 - NOW 49 - Various 06 - 507,000 - G I R L - Pharrell Williams 07 - 493,000 - IN THE LONELY HOUR - Sam Smith
  6. Not too far off from my prediction (186k), but I was hoping that I have underestimated.  Even if she does debut lower than the projections in this forum, the album still has a chance of longevity and great sales overall, as long as she/her label makes good singles choices. One person on another forum said that Spotify might be the culprit for the lower-than-expected start as most of her demographic would more likely to stream than to download/buy.
  7. So, Taylor's airplay deal wore off. She is likely to regain her AI by end of week or start of next week though, I think. Nice to see Tove Lo getting love from radio, as well as Clean Bandit, Iggy and Rita's Black Widow and Echosmith. The race is pretty close with Charli XCX and Maroon 5.
  8. I think Taylor is likely to get a second week at number 1. What happens the week after could get interesting. Kworb sales estimates: Shake It Off - 410k All About That Bass - 274k Bang Bang - 267k Anaconda - 202k Bang Bang and Anaconda sales are obviously boosted by the VMAs effect (with SIO's retention being quite impressive after the VMAs). Which means Stay With Me's chances at being number 1 is over.
  9. I guess the only exciting part about the album charts next week is how huge Ariana will debut. Sales might pick up in Q4, but I won't be surprised when Billboard reports a significant year-on-year drop. This is reminiscent of when singles sales struggled in early 2000s (in 2001, only three singles managed to sell over 500k, none sold over one million. :o Link: http://www.mtv.com/news/1451664/got-charts...1s-top-sellers/ ), which then made its comeback in the mid/late 2000s, I think. The only difference is that the album sales decline will likely to continue for the next few years. Reaching the Gold threshold (500k) looks like a bigger achievement now.
  10. Very sad to see only 19-20 albums selling over 10k last week.
  11. It's great that Taylor has hit number 1!!! What's even more impressive is that the song isn't even on Spotify and it still managed number 1 without it. No doubt the large Youtube/VEVO streams contributed but still great nonetheless. Moreover, I think it's been a while where an artist debuted at the top spot on Hot 100 with the song selling 400k/500k+ in its opening week (and being number 1 on Digital Songs)!! Roar started at number 2, despite a 550k+ opener. Problem entered at number 3 with 400k+ sales (though the chart points were really close by a fraction between the three songs that week).
  12. I think HDD predicted something like 475k, which was quite bizarre. I was thinking it will definitely clear 500k. Still huge sales from her though. Anaconda's sales are quite low, despite breaking record numbers on VEVO. Someone on another forum mentioned when Miley had her record week, she managed to sell 477k in download sales. Perhaps the most surprising is that Break Free has dropped out of Top 10 in sales. That single campaign is turning out to be quite a mess now.
  13. Really impressive, especially at this time.
  14. Well, both Wallonia and Flanders Ultratop has Ultratip, which is really a Bubbling Under chart. Wallonia does Top 50 while Flanders do Top 100. :o :o In this week's Ultratip, Ariana's Break Free is number 7 on both regions. Cheryl's Crazy Stupid Love is number 18 in Wallonia and Number 52 in Flanders. Wallonia Ultratip: http://www.ultratop.be/fr/weekchart.asp?cat=st Flanders Ultratip: http://www.ultratop.be/nl/weekchart.asp?cat=st
  15. I'm thinking Number 1 with 186k for opening week. I really want to say over 200k, but with the album sales climate at the moment, I can't see it going that high.
  16. It did good in NZ ratings and would have warranted another season. However in NZ, their renewal process can sometimes be a lot more complicated for some shows (ie. if MediaWorks are prepared to invest more money, if the show has durable enough sponsors/if they will stick around for the next season etc). So, it was puzzling to not see it in the lineup. Even when I went on the upfront site, they were announcing how the international version of the show was coming back and no mention of the local one. As for the alumni from season 1, Benny did well and Jackie did great for her winner's songs and album. It sure as hell is better than what any of the contestants from NZ Idol can pull back 10 years ago!!! Aside from the winner's single, they were not heard of again!!! Season 1 winner Ben got 4x Platinum and 7 weeks at number 1 with his winner's song. Only when his actual song was released, radio refused to play it (because the song was too crap)!!!
  17. Haha. The Voice Australia airs on Friday nights on TV2 and rates quite decently there apparently. Funny how they don't have their own local version but after TVNZ spectacularly failed with NZ Idol (the third and final season winner didn't even get a record deal, I think. Sony dropped the show after the first two winners pretty much flopped :D ), I think they are hesitant to take a shot at it. TV3 (TVNZ rival) did a season of NZ X Factor but that won't be coming back, I think.
  18. So, all the non-Spotify related ads playing (for non premium-members) aren't making much returns either? To the topic, I find it appalling that artists and songwriters gets paid virtually nothing for their stream royalties. Bette Midler getting paid a measly $114 for over 4 million streams is really a kick in the teeth. I'm also shocked to learn that Spotify has yet to turn a profit. It is also another case of record labels (esp. Sony, as there was an article relating to this a few months back) taking advantage of the profit shares because streaming is still the "new media".
  19. As much as I want Florida Kilos as a single, I know it ain't gonna happen. I enjoy Ultraviolence but also agree that it's not really single material. It sounds great as an album track though. I could have gone with Brooklyn Baby (fans really love this song and it can have an excellent music video to fit), Sad Girl or maybe Money Power Glory.
  20. If things go in this pattern, probably in three weeks. Such a shame because Ultraviolence is a great album and it deserves to do much better. I wish Lana/her team would make more effort in promotions. Lana did announce Ultraviolence as the next official single, so a video will no doubt be in the works. Plus, she was the cover story on Rolling Stone last week.
  21. Number 41 in NZ iTunes. Possible second Top 40 hit for Cheryl? Call My Name peaked at number 13 with a Gold certification there.
  22. That's what I thought.   Still impressive to even make iTunes Top 50 with zero promotion in Australia.
  23. Must have!!! Kworb hasn't even been updated yet from my browser.
  24. Whoops.
  25. Which Spice Girls song was it that was vs Barbie Girl?
