  1. No. 2 in Australia?? 100k download in hours???    Hardly (yet???).
  2. Flawless getting updates? Her next single? MAGIC! gunning for that top spot, nice seeing Ariana increasing for Break Free although Problem still outsells on iTunes. Break Free's streaming numbers should be interesting next week.
  3. My new predicta: Cheryl: 98k MAGIC!: 117k
  4. I'm glad that Sia is getting a number 1 album in the US (even though I don't like Chandelier). It's been a long time coming and she deserves it. Having said that, the idea that a top album this week is just over 50k (maybe 55k at best) is scarily bad. I'm sure sales will pick up around Q3 and Q4, but even with that, I don't think the figures will be inspiring. We might have one or two albums making high numbers while others will look tepid. There has been discussions on other forums on whether or not the album certification threshold should be lowered. People are suggesting 300k for Gold and possibly 600k for Platinum. We'll have to wait and see, but the way things are going (and if numbers don't get better by end of year), it might be possible, unfortunately.
  5. I'll be amazed if Taylor manages to sell over 1 million in opening week again. It is amazing how she managed to do this twice in a row. Unless she makes a song like WANEGBT and have massive dominance on iTunes, I can only see her doing around 650k for her next album.
  6. I think Cheryl will be number one for the opening week, but won't sell anywhere as big as Call My Name did, even with streaming support. She might do 95-102k. I can see MAGIC! doing around 70k with a number 2 debut. They can go up to number 1, assuming Cheryl's second-week decline and the new releases might not show much contention to rival for the top spot. Agree with many here that Rude will have better longevity than Crazy Stupid Love. I like CSL but it is nowhere near as strong as Call My Name. I would like to see Charli XCX debuting high (released in the same week). The only thing is that The Fault In Our Stars has been out for a month now. It shouldn't matter though as the song is fantastic in its own right.
  7. I know that album sales worldwide is on a decline, but I find it surprising and puzzling that a lot of the album released this year is struggling to make past Gold (500k). Perhaps by September, we will have sizable numbers of albums making past that mark and more. I also find it puzzling how Frozen is still selling. The film is well gone from the cinemas and people might have DVD/Blu-Rays and streamed it already by now. It would be quite upsetting if Frozen ends up being the top album seller by year's end.
  8. Boom Clap will make the Gold threshold next week. I saw Ariana's debut position coming. iTunes delayed her release (due to "technical issues") and her dropping off a few positions after two days. The song will climb though with the lyric video being out and the official video coming in a few weeks. MAGIC! will have a better chance at the top spot next week, since the gap was only 6% between Fancy and Rude this week.
  9. I'm shocked at how close my prediction was!!! The drop prediction is because of the declined interest (musically) of Robin Thicke and on how a disappointing debut like this can fall off the radar very quickly.
  10. The UK sales was just humiliating, but the sales in the US is just crap also. Sold even lower than JLo's latest album and she didn't have a hit single since 2011!!! As for Robin, for someone with a highest selling single worldwide last year, he has fallen and sunk hard. Me too. I'm happy and relieved that she's still in the top ten.
  11. A lot of these results before the final numbers (100%) really mean jackshit. Some albums might show low data on Monday but by Wednesday, they triple in numbers!!!
  12. Demi doing well in her updates.
  13. Well, at least Problem had a good, brief run at number 1 for updates. On the plus side though, Break Free is gaining well.
  14. Break Free making its debut on radio now!!!!! :yahoo: :yahoo: Also released on NZ iTunes as well.
  15. So Ariana's hope of Problem being number 1 is over now. She did really well for that single though and it looks most likely to be number 1 in the UK. Speaking of which, Ariana has released Break Free on MTV in the US. The song was supposed to be released on iTunes immediately after (7:30pm EST), but still no sign of it. In fact, some radio stations already played it now and Ariana is not happy on Twitter that iTunes is being late on its release.
  16. Huge debut for Ed!!!! Sam is holding better than Lana. Even still, both will do well in the long run. Lana might make more videos like her previous era and she performs well in album charts anyways. Iggy is still in the Top 20, which is good. I wonder if she will reach Gold status by the time VMA happens (which she does have a strong chance of being nominated).
  17. According to Billboard, Ariana is now number 1 on pop and rhythmic. So must be. Nice to see Ariana finally getting the top spot on updates.
  18. Number 8. I think they will chart a bit lower if songs released from previous weeks maintain their streaming numbers. I don't know if The Sats are huge on streaming really.
  19. Looks like Fancy peaked and now it might be on its way down now. Problem's decline is not as big but it would be such a shame to not get the top spot for just a few updates beforehand. Boom Clap coming up!!! :yahoo: :yahoo:
  20. At this rate, Ariana will be lucky to get at least two days topping the radio updates. Am I Wrong is rapidly climbing like crazy. She will be releasing her next single in the next week or so but I wonder if it will perform as well as Problem? It's good to hear that Lana is getting attention on the alternative radio stations. It's a step up. I just saw her Shades of Cool video yesterday and I loved it. Very cinematic, sad and visually stunning.
  21. Number 9 with a 20k sales on opening week. Number 92 the following week with a massive 80% decline. Riser - Those pizza photos look delicious!!! I'm hungry now.
  22. I agree. Stay With Me is still in US iTunes Top 10 and that can be good for his album in the long run. If Lana did the late night talk shows, she could have sold a bit more, but it is still an excellent result regardless. She has grown as a performer as she has become more confident performing live. She did say in some interviews about this. The good thing about both artists is that they are internationally successful as well as having American success.
  23. I agree. J-Lo couldn't have done any better really. I know she did some promos, including The Wendy Show, but she isn't at the level where she can sell mega numbers anymore, I think. I Luh Ya Papi and First Love didn't make too much of a splash and that reflected in A.K.A.'s opening week sales. She should be at least satisfied on being in Top 10 at all. Lana Del Rey did extremely well on her sales. It's even more impressive that she promoted her album predominantly through social media and online marketing, including Youtube while hardly making any TV appearances. I personally love the album. Good reviews and word-of-mouth would have helped a lot. Sam Smith also sold strongly on his part. He made plenty of TV appearances and has a strong fanbase like Lana's. The album was also well received. I know that Linkin Park had better starting sales week, but selling 100k in today's market is still good. In fact, I think it's nice seeing the Top 3 albums selling over 100k, in an otherwise weak-selling album market.
  24. And, Maroon 5's deal wears off.
  25.  Poor Harrison. It made sales, but still that must be embarrassing for any new artist to go through. When I saw an ad for his concert at Crown in Melbourne (which is kind of Vegas-y), I felt sorry for him. Granted, the ticket prices must have been decent, but it's not like shows at Crown have that much seating, let alone if he gets any profit from it at all.
