  7. Leona. Although, Britney being be a download release (since her physical don't come until November 5), people might download her like crazy! Also, where is Avril? Her latest vid was more talked about than the last one.
  8. Definite number one single! Quite different, but it's still good ^_^ !
  9. I checked the new release schedule and will.i.am is nowhere to be seen. So far, it peaked at number 38 and it fell to number 47 this week. Was it a download only release? Even if it was a download only release, reaching number 38 is not that good. I'm saying this because Fergie manages Top 10/20 for virtually all of her singles, so I was assuming will.i.am might do the same. So, was it rightfully a flop, or was it unfairly overlooked?
  10. As promised, the new update on the status: Current Top 10 - Overall (definitely moving to the semis - currently, nine songs have a clear enough score for Top 10): 1. So, the song is now officially retired and will definetely be moving to the semis. As promised, five points will be awarded for retiring, one point for being 5th in RR5 and they will have one more poll where it will come from the retiree poll - where you rate the song. The score with the majority votes will be added (for example: if the majority votes goes to "7", 7 points will be added to the song's score). 2. Four-way tie and replacement I am not sure how that is possible, but it is a new record. It is now in a situation where I have to eliminate SEVEN songs if there is a clear Top 5. Normally, the song after the fifth place would take over. In this case, "Timbaland - The Way I Are". However, because there are three songs (excluding the retired song) in fifth equal, that speaks for the sixth place altogether (in terms of ties and stuff). Timbaland would technically be placed ninth, so that song will be eliminated - sorry about this. 3. Rihanna - Umbrella This is the FINAL poll for Rihanna - Umbrella, as the song reached its fifth poll. So, if the song is in the Top 5, it will be retired and of course, it will be considered for semi-finals. But, as a reward for being retired, the song will get extra 5 points (for retiring), something from the bonus retiree poll, and their placing points from RR6. If the song does not get into the Top 5, the song will get 2 points instead (for being in the poll five times). So, here are the official results (Purple denotes being safe, Red denotes being eliminated, Green denotes being retired): Total votes: 52 (as of 11:30pm, October 9 - NOT TAKING ANYMORE VOTES AFTERWARDS AS ROUND ROBIN 5/20 IS CLOSED) It reads like this: Placings. Artist - Song - Votes/Points awarded (chart run) - total points 1st= Nelly Furtado - Say It Right - 11 votes/5 points (1-1e) - 10 points (total) 1st= Rihanna - Umbrella - 11 votes/5 points (1-1-2-1e) - 19 points (total) 3rd. Also, feel free to nominate any songs which are not on the list. OK now, VOTE!
  12. Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars is now in its 57th weeks in the charts. I was confident it would be dropped off last week (because it was at number 75), but instead it jumped 10 places to number 65! Wow! Now with the download rules being more lenient (I think) than ever, it could be possible that the song could survive 100 weeks.
  13. The fourth poll is over. The results are (Purple denotes being safe, Red denotes being eliminated): Total votes: 60 (as of 11:30pm, October 6 - NOT TAKING ANYMORE VOTES AFTERWARDS AS ROUND ROBIN 4/20 IS CLOSED) It reads like this: Placings. Artist - Song - Votes/Points awarded (chart run) - total points 1st. Nelly Furtado - Say It Right - 16 votes/5 points (1) - 5 points (total) 2nd. Rihanna - Umbrella - 14 votes/4 points (1-1-2) - 14 points (total) 3rd. Groove Amarda f/ Mutya Buena - Song 4 Mutya (Out of Control) - 6 votes/3 points (3-3) - 6 points (total) 4th= Beyonce f/ Shakira - Beautiful Liar - 4 votes/2 points (1-5-5e-4e) - 9 points (total) 4th= JoJo - Too Little Too Late - 4 votes/2 points (4e) - 2 points (total) 4th= Timbaland - The Way I Are - 4 votes/2 points (4e) - 2 points (total) 7th= Robyn with Kleerup - With Every Heartbeat - 3 votes/eliminated (2-2-4-7e) - 10 points (total) 7th= Alex Guadino f/ Crystal Waters - Destination Calabria - 3 votes/eliminated (3-5e-7e) - 4 points (total) 7th= Kelis - Lil' Star - 3 votes/eliminated (no runs) - 0 point (total) 10th. Girls Aloud - Sexy! No No No - 2 votes/eliminated (2-10) - 4 points (total) 11th. Gwen Stefani - 4 in the Morning - 1 vote/eliminated (no runs) - 0 point (total) Since three songs are fourth equal, like last time, ALL THREE will go to the next round. Five songs will be added as normal and SIX songs will be eliminated, should there be a clear Top 5 (which I hope it will). Also, thanks so much for the suggestions/nominations. Unfortunately, five songs can fill the slot. However, the remaining songs will be on the "Waiting List/Coming Soon" and they will be guaranteed a spot in future Round Robins (as stated). So, new songs this Round Robin (big thanks to Jack, Chris_2k7 and Russt68 for the nominations): Fergie - Big Girls Don't Cry Plain White T's - Hey There Delilah Dame Shirley Bassey - The Living Tree Siobhan Donaghy - Don't Give It Up Mason vs Princess Superstar - Perfect (Exceeder) Waiting List/Coming Soon: Avril Lavigne - Girlfriend (in RR6) Arctic Monkeys - Brianstorm (in RR6) Amy Winehouse - Back to Black (in RR6) Gwen Stefani - The Sweet Escape (in RR7 - Since Gwen competed in RR4 - for the track "4 in the Morning", too soon for RR6) ALSO BONUS NEWS: This is the FINAL poll for "Beyonce f/ Shakira - Beautiful Liar", as they have reached their fifth poll. So, if the song is in the Top 5, it will be retired and of course, it will be considered for semi-finals. But, as a reward for being retired, the song will get extra 5 points (for retiring), "something from the bonus retiree poll", and their placing points from RR5. Plus, there will be a "bonus" retiree poll, which I will tell in the next Round Robin - But only if the song retires. However, if the song fails to be in the Top 5, they will still be in the semis consideration - but the song will get 2 points (from this Round Robin (RR5)), for being in the poll five times. If the song does retire, the song which have been placed sixth will automatically be promoted to fill in the fifth spot (as a replacement for "Beyonce f/ Shakira - Beautiful Liar" in RR6) and will be awarded 1 point. Songs still in the game, and in the semi-finals consideration: 1. Rihanna - Umbrella (1-1-2/14 points - RR2 to present) 2. Beyonce f/ Shakira - Beautiful Liar (1-5-5e-4e/9 points - RR1 to present) 3. Groove Amarda f/ Mutya Buena - Song 4 Mutya (Out of Control) (3-3/6 points - RR3 to present) 4. Nelly Furtado - Say It Right (1/5 points - RR4 to present) 5= JoJo - Too Little Too Late (4e - RR4 to present) 5= Timbaland - The Way I Are (4e - RR4 to present) Songs eliminated, but still in the semi-finals consideration (because they have been in the Top 5): 1. Robyn with Kleerup - With Every Heartbeat (2-2-4-7e/10 points - RR1 to RR3/eliminated in RR4) 2= Arctic Monkeys - Fluorescent Adolescent (5-3-7/4 points - RR1 to RR2/eliminated in RR3) 2= Alex Guadino f/ Crystal Waters - Destination Calabria (3-5e-7e/4 points - RR2 to RR3/eliminated in RR4) 2= Girls Aloud - Sexy! Amy Winehouse - Tears Dry On Their Own (4-6e/2 points - RR1/eliminated in RR2) Songs eliminated, failing to get in the Top 5 altogether - NOT qualified for the semi-finals consideration (with placings/Round Robin that the song was in): Natasha Bedingfield - Soulmate (6th/RR1) Manic Street Preachers - Your Love Alone is Not Enough (7th/RR1) David Guetta - Love is Gone (7th/RR1) Kelis - Lil' Star (7th/RR4) Feist - 1234 (8th/RR2) Travis - Closer (8th/RR3) The Klaxons - It's Not Over Yet (9th/RR1) The Enemy - Away From Here (9th/RR2) Amy Mcdonald - Mr Rock & Roll (9th/RR2) Biffy Clyro - Folding Stars (9th/RR3) Kasabian - Me Plus One (10th/RR1) Hard-Fi - Surburban Knights (10th/RR3) Gwen Stefani - 4 in the Morning (11th/RR4) Also, feel free to nominate any songs which are not on the list. OK now, VOTE!
  14. Link works now. Try it - I just fixed the link.
  15. Link: http://acharts.us/song/1600 We all knew how popular the song was. But, I did not realise that it was going to be THAT huge! 13 weeks at number 1 in Austria, 14 weeks in Germany and Switzerland and 15 weeks in France! I mean, that is really long for a song to be at the top of the charts. It did well in the UK as well, peaking at number 3.
  16. The third poll is over. And there were 44 votes made in the third poll. Here are the results - as of 11:55pm, October 2 - NOT TAKING ANYMORE VOTES AFTERWARDS AS ROUND ROBIN 3/20 IS CLOSED (Purple denotes being safe, Red denotes being eliminated): It reads like this: Placings. Artist - Song - Votes/Points awarded (chart run) - total points 1st. Rihanna - Umbrella - 11 votes/5 points (1-1) - 10 points (total) 2nd. Girls Aloud - Sexy! No No No - 8 votes/4 points (2) - 4 points (total) 3rd. Groove Amarda f/ Mutya Buena - Song 4 Mutya (Out of Control) - 6 votes/3 points (3) - 3 points (total) 4th. Robyn with Kleerup - With Every Heartbeat - 5 votes/2 points (2-2-4) - 10 points (total) 5th= Alex Guadino f/ Crystal Waters - Destination Calabria - 7 votes/1 point (3-5e) - 4 points (total) 5th= Beyonce f/ Shakira - Beautiful Liar - 4 votes/1 point (1-5-5e) - 7 points (total) 7th. Arctic Monkeys - Fluorescent Adolescent - 3 votes/eliminated (5-3-7) - 4 points (total) 8th. Travis - Closer - 2 votes/eliminated (no runs) - 0 point (total) 9th. Biffy Clyro - Folding Stars - 1 vote/eliminated (no runs) - 0 point (total) (big thanks to JoÑn¥ for the name correction) 10th. Hard-Fi - Suburban Knights - 0 vote :o /eliminated (no runs) - 0 point (total) So, because there are two songs who have the same amount of votes to be in the 5th place, I have decided to put BOTH songs in the next round. So, in this game, five new songs will be added as normal (making it ELEVEN in total - for this round robin only), but SIX songs will be eliminated - should there be a clear Top 5 (which it will, I hope). So, new songs this week (big thanks to Jack for the nominations): JoJo - Too Little Too Late Timbaland - The Way I Are Kelis - Lil' Star Nelly Furtado - Say It Right Gwen Stefani - 4 in the Morning Songs still in the game, and in the semi-finals consideration: 1= Robyn with Kleerup - With Every Heartbeat (2-2-4/10 points) 1= Rihanna - Umbrella (1-1/10 points) 3. 17. Link: http://www.heatworld.com/Article.aspx?arti...t+in+38+seconds! Now, this is where I start to wonder: How is 38 seconds possible? Even through the power of internet it seems impossible. It must be an exaggeration. I mean the arena has tens of thousands of seats!
  18. I heard that the song In God's Hands was going to be released in the UK about a couple of months ago, but I don't think I've seen it in the Top 75. Also, can't remember when it was released either. So, anyone know if it charted? If not, did it make the Top 200 anyways?
  19. 1. Sugababes are number 1 solely on downloads (making them the fourth artist ever to do so - after Gnarls Barkley, Mika and Rihanna), big jump from 35-1 (is it the second or third highest jump to No. 1 within Top 75?, let me know). 2. NONE of the HSM2 songs are in the Top 20. Last year, Breaking Free made it to number 9. 3. Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars: STILL in the UK Top 75 at number 75! It's their 56th week in the charts. Anything else?
  20. Note: This is Round Robin 3/20 (The poll sub-heading said 2/20, but it's actually 3/20 - as said in forum post title and poll title). The second poll is over. Of the 64 votes (as of 11:00pm, September 29 - NOT TAKING ANYMORE VOTES AFTERWARDS AS ROUND ROBIN 2/20 IS CLOSED): Here are the results (Purple denotes songs being safe, Red denotes the songs which are eliminated): It reads like this: Placings. Artist - Song - Votes/Points awarded (chart run) - total points 1st. Rihanna - Umbrella - 18 votes/5 points (1) - 5 points (total) 2nd. No No No Billy Clyro - Folding Stars And, to summarise the competition so far: Songs still in the game, and in the semi-finals consideration: 1. Robyn with Kleerup - With Every Heartbeat (2-2/8 points) 2. Beyonce f/ Shakira - Beautiful Liar (1-5/6 points) 3. Rihanna - Umbrella (1/5 points) 4. Arctic Monkeys - Fluorescent Adolescent (5-3/4 points) 5. Alex Guadino f/ Crystal Waters - Destination Calabria (3/3 points) Songs eliminated, but still in the semi-finals consideration (because they have been in the Top 5): 1. Kate Nash - Foundations (3/3 points) 2. Amy Winehouse - Tears Dry On Their Own (4/2 points) Songs eliminated, failing to get in the Top 5 altogether - NOT qualified for the semis consideration (with placings/Round Robin that the song was in): Natasha Bedingfield - Soulmate (6th/RR1) Manic Street Preachers - Your Love Alone is Not Enough (7th/RR1) David Guetta - Love is Gone (7th/RR1) Feist - 1234 (8th/RR2) The Klaxons - It's Not Over Yet (9th/RR1) The Enemy - Away From Here (9th/RR2) Amy Mcdonald - Mr Rock & Roll (9th/RR2) Kasabian - Me Plus One (10th/RR1) Also, feel free to nominate any songs which are not on the list. 21. How did you retrieve the sales data? Just wondering.
  22. Link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7014386.stm Girls Aloud have won their place in the GWR again. This time, for most consecutive Top 10 singles in the UK Singles Chart by a female group.
  23. For official rules: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=50760 So, the first poll is over. With 64 votes, here are the official results (as of 11:59pm, September 25 - NOT TAKING ANYMORE VOTES AFTERWARDS AS ROUND ROBIN 1/20 IS CLOSED): These 5 songs will stay in the game: 1st. Beyonce f/ Shakira - Beautiful Liar - 15 votes (5 points) 2nd. Robyn with Kleerup - With Every Heartbeat - 14 votes (4 points) 3rd. Kate Nash - Foundations - 9 votes (3 points) 4th. Amy Winehouse - Tears Dry On Their Own - 7 votes (2 points) 5th. Arctic Monkeys - Fluorescent Adolescent - 6 votes (1 point) These 5 songs are eliminated: 6th. Natasha Bedingfield - Soulmate - 4 votes 7th= Manic Street Preachers - Your Love Alone is Not Enough - 3 votes 7th= David Guetta - Love is Gone - 3 votes 9th. The Klaxons - It's Not Over Yet - 2 votes 10th. Kasabian - Me Plus One - 1 vote Some extra note (in case of an "emergency"): - Should any song(s) "retire" because they have been in the Top 5 for five times, the songs in the 6th place (then, 7th - depending on the number of songs retired) will be in the next poll as a replacement. Plus, that song in the 6th place who is replacing the song that is "retired" will get 1 point. Just to make sure. Anyways, new songs this week: Rihanna - Umbrella Feist - 1234 Alex Guadino f/ Crystal Waters - Destination Calabria The Enemy - Away From Here Amy Mcdonald - Mr Rock & Roll Also, feel free to nominate any songs which are not on the list. OK now, VOTE!
  24. Here's how it goes. It may sound strange, but it will work (I hope). Every Sunday and Wednesday, I put up ten songs on the list. Just like Soundclash and TRL, you vote for your favourite. The Top 5 most voted will remain in the poll, whilst the lower half (6th-10th) will be eliminated. This will continue on until November 28 (The final round robin) - which totals to 20 round robins. Here are further rules for this Round Robin: 1. If the song you see is not on the list, feel free to nominate a song or two and I might put it on on the next stack. 2. The song(s) you nominate MUST be released in 2007. 3. Once the song is out of the Top 5 (or is eliminated), it cannot re-enter. 4. If the song is in the Top 5, it will be rewarded points based on placings (eg. 1st = 5 pts, 2nd = 4pts etc.) 6th-10th will get 0. 5. So that the "favourites" won't drag on the round robin too much, a song in the Top 5 can be in the Top 5 for five times maximum. Then, it will be "retired" until the semi-finals. After 20 Round Robins, this is what will happen in Semi-finals (November 29 - December 3 (poll round) December 4 - 9 (semi-finals)): 1. All the songs which have been in the Top 5 (current, former and "retired") will automatically be considered for the semi-finals (this will give fair advantages to the songs in the later RRs). 2. The 10 songs which have gained the most points during the Round Robin will automatically be qualified for semi-finals. Others will compete in a poll round where the Top 10 most voted will advance to semi-finals. 3. These two groups will then merge, which will make 20 songs in total. The Top 10 most voted from there will go to the Finals. At the Finals (December 10 - 16): The Top 10 will then compete and the song with the most votes will be named the "Track of the Year". OK, so hopefully this will work alright. I really hope the rules made sense. It's my first time doing this kind of thing, so go easy on it. So, vote and if your song is not on the poll, nominate and I might put it there on Wednesday. So, which song is the "Track of the Year"? VOTE (AND NOMINATE)! p.s. - I am doing this for fun, so don't go all hating and stuff. p.s. 2 - This poll is to find out the Track of the Year, so this game is not indefinite, obviously. p.s. 3 - The 10 songs that I have chosen for Round Robin 1/20 is based on the songs that I thought of from my head.
