  1. I really like this, especially the chorus.

   Jess Glynne's Don't Be So Hard On Yourself went Gold and it didn't even chart in the Top 40 (peaked at #4 on heatseekers)! NZ increased their singles certification threshold soon after (they doubled from 7,500/15,000 to 15,000/30,000 for Gold/Platinum). I also agree that BPI should consider increasing their certification threshold for certifications for the singles.
  3. Yes. I tried giving Take 40 a listen last year and I was really confused with which chart position and song they were playing. Not to mention, the tracks they skip over were remixed as well. They play one song after another (in shambles), rarely mentioning the chart rank. At least with Radio 1 Chart Show, they make it clear where the songs are ranked in the lower half, even if it's played for 5-10 seconds.
  4. I think that's Fresh 40 on the rival network, Nova. Take 40 is like the Radio 1 Chart Show. American Top 40 is a horrible chart show though.
  5. I often feel like Robyn was really robbed of a hit with Dancing on My Own. I really loved her Body Talk era and was such a shame that it was overlooked commercially in Australia. Do It Again (with Royksopp) is another example of this. I don't even like the Calum Scott version to begin with. VMA really did help Chainsmokers here and I agree that it will stay there a bit longer. They are at the top convincingly with both sales and streams. Nice to see Britney charting high with her album. She wasn't even that close to beating Barbra in sales though. I also heard that Take 40 had their last ever show this week, after 32 years on air. Truly an end of an era. Although I have to admit, I only listened to it a few times.

  8. It's on Spotify here in Australia. My favourite track is The One.    I love all the tracks though.
  9. Not surprised this will be the next single release from her. It's a great song. Looking forward to the performance and video on Sunday/Monday. I also think Greedy should be a single at some point. Maybe after this one? Bad Decisions is also my favourite from Dangerous Woman. Can't see it as a single release sadly, as much as I would like it to.
  10. Always wondered why Talking Body didn't chart there. It was such a great song. Happy that Cool Girl charted in the Official NZ Charts. Also happy that Astrid S has reached Top 20!!!!
  11. Man, the original I Love You Always Forever got blocked by Macarena in the US as well!!! Crazy that it's been 20 years since the debut of Wannabe. I heard the Betty Who's version and I'm not a fan. Glad to see Cool Girl entering the Top 50. The newly released video this week should help the song climb higher, mainly by the audio streaming boost. Plus, it's continuously doing well on Spotify.

  15. What is interesting in singles charts now is that a lot of the singles in the Top 50 has been certified something (very impressive as the sales/streams ratios are higher than UK, Italy, France and NZ). I don't think ARIA will raise their singles threshold like NZ did for now, but it might be possible within the next year.
  16. I'm pretty sad that Into You has not entered Top 10 yet. She had plenty of streaming power on her My Everything era. Her streaming numbers are still impressive for Dangerous Woman singles but only reaching #11 is still baffling to me. At least the single reached platinum threshold. Surprising that The Veronicas fell so much this week as I thought it would have some longevity. Happy for Jonas and the big jump for Perfect Strangers. Rihanna's needed me went Gold and the peak is #48 so far. Alfie debuted well by reaching Top 5 in albums, considering the ratings decline for The Voice and the disastrous chart performance of his coronation song. The state of album sales looks very sad as it only takes 4250+ sales for it to be #1. #10 album did 1160+ this week. The singles unit/point numbers looks good, I think.

  22. I'm disappointed too that Lush Life declined in its second week. As I am still hopeful, I've also started to accept that Lush Life isn't going to happen in the US. Epic milked Never Forget You way too long. There really was no point to film the US version of Lush Life. At least Lush Life is a huge international hit, with Top 10 peaks across Europe, Australia and NZ. I don't know how she will do when her album releases later this year. Similar result as Lush Life?
  23. LUSH LIFE FINALLY AT HOT 100!!!! :yahoo: :yahoo:   :cheer: :cheer: :w00t: :w00t:
  24. Yeah. It seems like Universal Music and/or EndemolShine weren't really invested this season. They should have at least tried with the artwork or even attempt to make a video. I just hope this year's X Factor winner won't suffer the same fate, given the massive budget cuts (especially in live shows) this season. Then again, Sony takes their chart battles really seriously, so I wouldn't worry too much.
  25.   I only watched the finale of The Voice and I liked Alfie. The song, however, was very underwhelming. It sounded incomplete. Not surprised by his low chart placing as he declined on iTunes throughout the week and didn't make an impact on Spotify (18k streams as of now!!! :o :o ). Plus, the finale rated much lower than last year. I do give credit to The Voice (and X Factor) for having an original song for the winner rather than a cover. I'll take lazy original song over a lazy cover any day.
